Limberlost Garden Centre reviews
69 Went to this nursery with high hopes as had been recommended, we were thoroughly disapppointed
Our initial contact with a new staff member was friendly and courteous, she referred us to a senior staffer to answer our questions- from here on in the experience was thoroughly underwhelming. We found the responses patronising and dismissive, it was almost as if we were an inconvenience and were bothering her by being there
We had to ask for recommendations as none were offered.
We knew what we wanted and were advised against it but no alternatives were offered.
Our business lost, would not recommend
My first visit was lovely. Great place to roam and get some great ideas. Bought a couple of plants and I found the staff to be very friendly, experienced and helpful with my concerns regarding my palms I have at home.
Today our Group of 16 called "Chirpy " had lunch here. The food was very good, the service was excellent. All in the group had a wonderful time. Well done Limberlost, we will be back.

Located along a scenic road is a wonderful nursery with an amazing selection of healthy plants on offer. The busy onsite cafe offered a pleasant distraction with its yummy scents, a treat I will take up on my next visit. The garden centre layout has been created to maximize aesthetic appeal with outdoor rooms hosting certain plant types. I grabbed a nice indoor palm with blue glazed pot.
I ordered an almond ice latte and the only vegan cake available (take away).
The coffee just tasted like burnt and came with a paper straw stuffed in the plastic lid. And the vegan slice (it was a nice flavour, very rich) came in a huge sterefome box (didn't think those were a thing anymore) with a plastic fork which you cannot eat that slice with. Very strict covid rules also. Weird atmosphere in the cafe part.
I was expecting a place that cares about plants to have a bit more of a eco consciousness.
Beautiful to walk around and enjoy the plants though.
Relaxed ambience of the grounds is perfect for a Sunday arvo walk around with bub.
Man playing the flute was a nice touch. Will definitely be back to try out the cafe
Always love the Nursery however this time the Cafe didn't deliver.
We booked a table & arrived on time.
Another group took our table, they weren't asked to move.
Two tables joined together for us, in a walkway. Asked to be moved 2 feet along out of the sun. Response was "No, cause of COVID distancing. But because of where we sat staff & patrons had to keep brushing up against us to get past. How us that COVID compliant?
Messed up the coffee order.
I could go on.
Don't recommend the cafe at all.
Disappointing meal. Invited my son and daughter inlaw to eat at resturant. We were served crumped mackeral and chip place in a basket the size of a coffee cup with colslaw dripping with yogurt. It looked like it was from the Children Menu (hold tje coleslaw and yogurt). $ 27? REALLY.
In all the years of living in the Cairns area I had never been to there cafe. Thought I would try today as I was looking for statues and plants. I had a coffee, feta tart and scones. In a nutshell the coffee was tasteless, the tart okay but the scones must have been made by an new apprentice. Gosh! Tasteful scones are not that difficult! And palease.change your coffee supplier. There are some excellent coffees in Cairns so do some research. Yes you are a Nursery first but if you are going to provide food and coffee please make it something to compliment your establishment. Staff were lovely.
Limberlost Nursery is a great local nursery, for advice, plants, pots and even a good meal and coffee if you like.
The team there are all very friendly and ready with advice and tips if you need. Bulk landscaping needs are also available and can be arranged with delivery also.
Along the lines of a traditional nursery but offers a whole lot more.
A cafe that also sells plants, what more could you possibly want? Excellent coffee, pleasant service, bacon and eggs, cake, big range of plants, toilets, they have it all.
What a lovely setting for a cafe All the staff are very friendly and coping well with Covid19 rules Menu is reduced in choice but our meals were excellent -delicious AND the cakes and coffee too are still excellent (they still make their 3 milk cake too!) The nursery is beautiful so well set out and a paradise to roam in Thank you all your team well done
Wow, such an array of food plants - I want them all! It was lovely to see that the butterfly-attracting plants work, there were butterflies all around them
They have taken going to a plant nursery to a whole new level. Apart from having all your garden needs covered and a HUGE plant selection, they have a excellent coffee shop cafe. Very popular with locals who seem to congregate here like the butterflies do. For that rarer plant or Australian Native this is the place to find it. Located out at Freshwater, turn opp the Railway Station, worth a visit as well while in the area.
The nursery was recommended to us.and we had to check it out although it was raining.anddd yes we had a great coffee and a slice of cake.really lovely place.pleasant service.you gotta check it if you're in cairns!
Love dining at Limberlost beautiful amongst the plants and flowers. Some vegan options could be more but food fresh delicious and tasty. After eating it's pleasant to wander around and view plants
A good selection of plants that are appropriate for the Cairns climate, the staff are knowledgeable, and they have a great cafe.
Thoroughly enjoyable birthday lunch with a small group. Food could be described as gourmet and different. We were also able to linger over lunch for a good chat which always makes an occasion memorable.
Such a wonderful experience had here tonight with champagne and light refreshments. The gardens are filled with lush colors, exotic plants, smiling faces and curious minds. The staff here are working over time to answer all questions and give an informative demonstration/workshop on creative garden ideas. The live music is so relaxing, as I sit on a swinging chair next to a running water feature and let my mind drift away into how I can transform my own backyard into a plantation wonderland just like limberlost. Such a beautiful place that everyone must experience.
Great nursery. Very unique. Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable staff. You run a great small business. Well done.
