Goodlife Health Clubs 24/7 reviews
56My favourite Goodlife club. PTs are friendly, staff are welcoming, Isaac's beard is a national treasure. Equipment is tight downstairs but functional, no chance of getting a bench quickly between 5pm and 7pm.
Was considering joining but at $25 a week! Just because I don't want to sign up to a contract (who even has contracts these days) it's a no from me. Healthworks has classes and is still less than $15 a week.
Rip off
Argumentative and dishonest. Went to get prices and was told about joining fee of $99. Explained that I thought joining fee was a rip-off as why should I pay to give them to be able to then buy from them. Person helping me argued that if I go to a new doctor or specialist I have to pay a fee before seeing the doctor/specialist for the first time (in addition to the consultation fee). What a load of rubbish!
Recently went to Goodlife Ashgrove.
The atmosphere seemed very snotty and the experience was very unwelcoming and unpleasant.
Shocking. I turned up for a free 5 day pass (having just moved to Australia and trialing new gyms) and was told I had to sign up to use the "free" trial. I eventually agreed to sign up and the gym facilities are unreal to be fair. Very clean as well. It's just that they're completely incompetent. I must've called up on 6 or 7 different occasions to resolve a payment that shouldn't have been taken. I had 3 free PT sessions to use and David the PT was good, knew exactly what he was doing. It's just a shame that when I was honest and said i wouldn't be looking to do a long program with him, he lost interest straight away. Didn't care at all. That was the nature of the staff there. Once they signed you up, they didn't want to know you.
When I cancelled my contract (came back to the UK) I had a $9.95 payment taken (quarterly PT session) taken on my last payment - 4 weeks after I had cancelled my contract! Brett the manager told me he couldn't refund it which has left my Aussie bank account overdrawn just before I planned on closing it. He has since ignored my email.
Totally incompetent and uninterested staff.
Got an uograde recently so the facilities are amazing. Loads of machines, a free weight area downstairs and weights area upstairs, dedicated yoga room, cycle room and group fitness room. Childminding for $3.50 per hour. Parking is pretty bad during peak times so allow time to shark a park. Recommend you arrive 15 mins prior to a class so you can secure your place, as they are very popular. Instructors are super friendly and motivating.
Great club, feels like a small community.staff always helpful and 9 times out of 10 you can always get the machine you're looking for!
I hadnt been to the gym in a while, and whilst on holiday I lost my card and when I cancelled it my payment lapsed. I'm now getting letters saying I owe money for services I havent used, and services in the future I wont use as there is a "30 cancellation period", so Im racking up debt for something I havent used and wont. Actively unpleasant to stop paying for, and thats the point.
This is a fantastic gym with plenty of exercise equipment. The staff are very friendly and it's open 24/7. Just remember to bring a lock for the locker.
Positives. Good equipment and general facilities. Clean and plenty of room.
Negatives. Mind-numbing techno music.
Staff can be aloof unless you are paying for PT session.
Could improve awareness of general etiquette with many gym users taking up “residence” on machines for long periods while they chat to mates or use other equipment which is frustrating for other users.
Plenty of financial incentives for new members, but never seen any loyalty recognition for long term customers.
This is a busy club for a small space. 2x squat racks which is good at least. 4x free weight benches which can get a little crowded. Machines are a little strange, there's no pec fly or reverse leg curl machine but most other machines are as expected. Staff are friendly enough. Parking can also be a problem during busy times.
Renovated late 2016. Huge 24 hour gym with modern equipment.
I personally use the free weights, platforms and machines, but it has huge group fitness studios that are all covered by the membership fee. Membership is competitively priced. Worth checking out.
Very small health club and very busy.it is not easy to find a machine to do exercise in peak hours. On the other hand, helpful and nice staff members.
Great gym facility and huge floor space however best to avoid going during 5-8pm as its peak hour. And you will most likely wait to use a bench/machine.
Fantastic space after full refurbishment late 2016/early 2017. Approachable staff. However can be impossible to get a car park and very crowded at peak times
After changing from the valley Goodlife I am so happy here. Really good powerlifting and free training space. The whole gym has a good vibe, staff are friendly and it is the cleanest place I have ever trained! Love it here!
