Absolute scam artists. I would highly recommend reading the reviews for this gym and moving right along. I made the mistake of believing every word the sales assistant told me about the convenience of 24 hour access. The sales assistant was aware I am working 7 days a week assisting with the Covid crisis and wasn’t able to attend during staffed hours. I was then signed up and not made aware that I am unable to attend the gym until physically meeting with a staff member in person. This was something the sales assistant was aware of when signing me up but unfortunately they were thinking mainly on the commission they would receive.

I opted for the highest rate weekly with no lock in contract. Turns out you still have a contract and have to pay a month. I then asked as a customer being charged for services not being used if I could go in on my partners pass, this was after I asked if he could pick up my pass for me and they wouldn’t accomodate it.

When I was unhappy with the service before Christmas the response was someone would get back to me after Christmas (pretty much I got my commission and I am in holiday mode). As a someone who works closely with legislation daily I am aware the sales assistant has messed up with what has been put in writing and have taken this to the ombudsman.

Don’t fall for the scam

I can absolutely confirm other feedback regarding the quality and maintenance of the gym equipment and the unprofessionalism of staff here. Not only is much of the equipment broken, faulty or not fit for purpose, the club manager actively discourages and ignores feedback. She recently suggested that my membership be paused or cancelled as a solution to feedback provided, rather than actually address the issues. Our RPM and body pump class and instructors have been providing feedback about broken equipment for over 18 months. No action or basic maintenance has been taken. Our RPM instructor often has to find bike parts to replace the spin bikes made available to us. Some class members have cut themselves on broken parts of the bike. The manager recently removed the feedback form/box at the club due to the volume of feedback around faulty equipment. Feedback regarding unprofessionalism of staff is not only ignored, but members are blamed for it instead. Group fitness instructors frequently verify the poor experience club members receive. Recommend finding a different gym where possible.

Location is great and parking downstairs is super handy. The large room for floor work and boxing is good. Class timetable has always been good as well if you are keen on that:)

I do think they need some more machines like a ski erg. I found it really hard to get cardio in after my knee surgery and a ski erg would have been perfect. Even when my knees are working, this is so good for circuit work - put in in with the assault bike!

Could literally halve the amount of treadmills in here. They are RARELY used and there are a million. I think the gym needs to do a full floor plan and equipment review. Obviously can't please everyone but the treadmills are rarely used and are a waste of space.

Also, people here need to be more mindful of 'bagsing' squat racks/machines. We get it, you're huge. But you can still share machines girl. Stop supersetting on leg press/squat rack and lat pull down/seated row. Staff could defs assist a little more here!

Firstly if you are a goodlife member, drive to any other but this one. The only thing that makes me come back here is convenience and the staff.
But where do i start.
1. There have been machines like the seated bicep machine, that have been broken ("out of order") for over 8 WEEKS! How is this possible that it still hasnt been fixed?
2. The stretching / Ab area smells like a old wet towel and sweat. The carpet has been like this since i can remember.
3. The Toilets are constantly dirty and have an odour.

This used to be a leading gym in this area, but it is now the gym that everyone leaves to go to newer gyms. I speak for everyone i know that trains there when i say, fix it.
Brand new Goodlife gyms make this place look like a warzone.

More than 45 days that is out of order. Lots of broken equipment and no capacity required for number of members

Do NOT sign up here.
This is one of the most disgusting gyms I have ever trained at. The womens bathroom's are rarely cleaned, equipment to clean urinal left in hallway for days a time, gum stuck to the walls and floors, mirrors fulthy, parts of the floors ripped up and weights and equipment left on the floor.gym equipment is broken at present:
- 2/2 assault bikes broken.
- 5/6 cable machines broken.
- all treadmills electronically faulty and zap you.
It took the manager 7 months, not to rectify these issues, and after multiple calls and three week delays between calling me back, when asked if these could be fixed, the manager told me the members broke them, and that members make the gym messy.

Instead check out Gyms where managers and staff actually care: Club Bunkr, Function Well, Total Fusion, Fit X and many others.

I’m just going to say I came here for a session as I was working around the corner today but will be the last time I go. Staff only care about talking to each other and look at you like you are waisting their time! Saying thank you and hoping they have a good night and they stare at you like “don’t be polite to us”. The equipment is horrible and has rips in some pads and the entire gym needs an update as well as the staff. Please don’t reply with a generic message of not actually caring about what I have written, no I will not take time to give you a call to discuss the matter further because like other reviews have mentioned the phone probably would not be answered. If Goodlife genuinely cared they would try to look up members details and call us to discuss the issues not us waist our time trying to get onto no one that actually cares

Dirtiest goodlife gym I have been to. I felt so uncomfortable training at this gym due to the lack of cleanliness and pungent smell.

The poor experience with GoodLife begins the moment you enter the door. The staff are more interested in talking with each other than greeting customers. They'll also try and put a hard sell on you for practically anything. I spoke with a male at the front desk and asked him if there was a tap (due to Covid, no). He then offers me a water bottle for free but quickly recants the offer saying I can only have it if I provide 3 names of friends to him. I decline.

Receptionist is very useless and the management should be trying harder to value an loyal customers. Myself and my husband constantly have issues with suspension timeframe a dovercharged fees. Wasted so much time trying to get wanted result in managing the membership. Otherwise, the gym is great with various facilities

The sour faces at reception needs to put a smile on their dial and take up some customer service training.

Worst experience with this gym, blatantly stole money and claimed it was overdue, happend not once but three times with no resolution. I then asked to discontinue my membership after the year and they continued deducting money out of my account. The gym equipment is decenent but staff and management are all horrible.left a bitter taste in my mouth regarding the goodlife organisation.cerainly do not recomend joining this gym.

Huge gym, great facilities. Too many entitled roidies and barbies parading around using multiple machines at once. But oversubscribed. PT’s come across a little pervy. Otherwise great quality equipment and huge environment.

Absolute joke of a place. Hidden joining fee of $150 and then total lies when I’ve tried to address it. The manager has out and out lied through his teeth. Avoid at all costs.

Gym seems nice and clean, but for anyone coming for a casual visit you must come 30 minutes or more before staffed hours closing time ends, otherwise they will refuse you entry.
As it apparently takes more than half an hour to sign a piece of paper saying you won't sue them if you drop a weight on your head and for them to do a 2 minute walk and point.

Really good gym. Friendly vibe. All the equipment is clean and in good condition. It's hard to fault but I will say that it has started getting really busy during peak times lately. I'm finding I'm waiting to use equipment more and more. Not the end of the world (yet) but something to keep in mind if they're just going to keep taking on new members.

It’s in a good size but super busy in pick hours. It works 24/7 and has Functional Training Zone and mind/body studio. Relaxation Zone with steam room, sauna. No pool. You can contract Professional trainers through the gym.
It's located at Homemaker The Valley, in the heart of Fortitude Valley’s and it’s easily accessible from Wickham Street, Ann Street, the ICB and the Airport Link Tunnel.

Had a workout here while I was in Brisbane, really good facilities and friendly staff. Andrew who showed me around couldn’t have been more helpful.

I love to come here and get a yoga class. Full facilities and good location also have a parking lot at basement.

In desperate need of an upgrade, outdated equipment and over crowded. The capalaba and Carseldine Good Life’s are excellent across the board in comparison. I also wanted to point out that Newstead hosts generally high wealth individuals, so I was quite shocked to walk in and see what I saw, won’t be returning to the gym in future.
