Gaythorne RSL reviews
87We have been here many times and enjoy the meals served here! The staff are warm and friendly, compared to some other clubs where you don't even get a hello! The staff are also very nice in gaming where we like to have a flutter or two!
Delicious lunch. Chicken Snitzel (Senior's Size) and a cold beer. Lost on the pokies but had fun.
We were lunch guests of a member and we were celebrating a reunion, having travelled from SA to visit! Our food was good and the decor, and service were exemplary. A good venue for our event.
Always a great "go to" when you are not quite ready to go home after a night out
I was a member of Cairns RSL having worked in PNG for 30+ years. So when I retired and returned to Brisbane I remembered the Gaythirn RSL as they provided a trumpeter for my dad's funeral in 1984. So I joined up. Great staff.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, however, the food was not great. Ordered the 500g steak, which came out flattened and over cooked after I asked for medium.
It's not the most attractive RSL but the bistro food was possibly above 4 stars, we had 3 meals on the 22nd December and all were great at about $23 each. The staff were friendly and service was prompt.
Parking was my only issue as you have to enter through side streets and some signage had been damaged on Heliopolis Pde, this sent me back onto the main road to try again.
We had a great lunch!
The children’s playroom is great. The range of toys are fabulous. Perfect for our little person. Thanks for seating us near the playroom. Very helpful.
Lazy manager s not very friendly to old people need to be trained nice and warm warm to us as we pay your as I look on your they seem to only show good comment s
I am disappointed that you do not serve Lite beer on tap. Also we won a food & drink voucher at the Melbourne cup lunch. When we tried to use it on Saturday night I was told that I could either use it to buy drinks or food ALL in one transaction. 2 drinks do not come to $50. So much for DRINK & FOOD.
Always very much enjoy a visit to Gaythorne RSL.
Very friendly, helpful staff, great food and cold beer…. What more could you want?
Keep up the good work guys
Great reception staff at the Bistro. Table was well prepared and they were very accommodating to my service dog. We were very impressed with the meals they were excellent and good value for money.
Gaythorne RSL located 534 Samford Road, Mitchelton, this is a wonderful place to meet & share a good meal, have a drink or just relax.
On the ground floor level there is a large spacious seated area for dining when having a meal or a cool drink from the restaurant & bar area's.
The TAB area is also located in the same location as the main bar, you can relax & watch live racing or other sports events.
A entertainment is located the rear of the main dining area for live music & dancing
The Gaythorne RSL has an excellent menu selection available which suits all dietary requirements.
Children are well catered with a child caring area located near the restaurant.
This club has all the facilities anyone requires, including a more than adequate gaming area with a large range of poker machines.
There is an excellent Memorabilia display located on the right hand side as you walk through from the entrance to the RSL.
Adequate parking is available at the rear of the RSL, there is also extra sealed parking available on an adjoining property.
There is excellent disability parking available just near the rear entrance with a ramp for anyone with wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
The Gaythorne RSL has two levels with internal access stairs which leads to the RSL Sub Branch where Veterans see an RSL advocate for any service related issues. Making an appointment in advance is advisable.
Also located in the upper level of the RSL is a large auditorium where corporate engagement or RSL activities are held.
Gaythorne RSL is located within walking distance to the Mitchelton Station & Brookside Shopping Centre, both places are located in Osbourne Road.
There is also a designated Brisbane Council Bus station on Samford Road near the Gaythorne RSL, with regular services available.
There is a Courtesy Bus service available, once again check with the friendly reception staff or check the RSL website for more information.
Gaythorne RSL was a delightful place, for our " Seniors" team from the Redlands, to visit, sit down & listen to some music while we enjoyed waiting for our lunches/ dinners! All was delightful. The scenery outside was lovely & green & well looked after & our meals inside were scrumptiously tasty. A Very nice RSL to visit.
Great food, friendly staff and a wonderful event space. The advocacy team here are one of the best in Queensland and the RSL put on the best service on Anzac Day in the northside. Very modern, with a team paying close attention to the needs of contemporary veterans and their families.
Super friendly service, great yummy quality food, awesome prices, massive portions, cheaper than chips all round, 5$ kids meals, playroom, easy convenient parking
Solid three stars meaning we got everything we expected. The meals were reasonably priced, not inexpensive though so if you're looking for a cheap night out you might have to go somewhere else.
Its nicely set up though. Decor is nice and the service was good. Friendly staff who all seemed genuinely happy to be there.
Was a good night out after a busy Friday.
I was there for a Memorial Service. The conference room was set up well by friendly, professional staff who looked after us that afternoon will great nibbles and drinks. Well done!
Mr wife and I together with my son and grandson and his wife had the pleasure to visit this fantastic venue last night and what a pleasant surprise compared to other venues where we live in Toowoomba.
The service was exceptional as was the food. The waitress was very friendly and very busy too although she still had a smile.
Probably the best food we have experienced for a long time.
The Last Post at 6.00 pm was very moving as both our son and grandson are in the Australian Military.
The whole atmosphere was great.
Well done and thank you.

Meal disappointing. Lambs fry goes with bacon but smoked ham does NOT! Mashed potatoes need to be separate without adornment!?
