Focus Martial Arts Brisbane reviews
50These guys make martial arts really fun for the whole family. Their kids classes keep the children engaged, focused and active. The family classes allow some time to exercise as a family before separating off.
My 2 girls (5 and 9) attend this place. They absolutely love it. They love getting picked up by the bus after school. The teachers are great with the kids and they’ve also made good friendships
My daughter has a birthday party and to confirm her presence I left my details (my phone number) they call me every single day, send me email, SMS text. Is insane
DO NOT sign up unless you're ready to commit to 6 months minimum. They won't let us get out of the contract even with 1 month to go. Check which instructor you're getting as their skill with kids varies greatly.
Our whole family joined FMA about 18 months ago and we love being part of the club. I really like their approach of combining the discipline and focus of traditional Taekwondo with the practical self defence and fitness of mixed martial arts. The benefits for our kids and family have been amazing, not just in the sport but at home and school too. It’s fun training together, as well as individually working towards our black belt goals.
Motivating and Inspiring! Focus Martial Arts is amazing with children, my son started first 18 months ago and has developed resilience and discipline at home and school. Now the whole family attends and we all love it.
My two children have been attending FMA for almost two years now. They started on a 6-month trial, enjoyed the training and are keen to keep going.
From a parent's perspective, we have seen the children gain self-defence skills, fitness, discipline and confidence. We are happy for this to continue for as long as the children maintain their desire to develop and improve.
FMA is a family business and their best assets are the family members, who are all instructors, together with the other instructors they have employed as the business has grown. Mark and Kezia are very skilled, knowledgeable and approachable. Likewise, Kyle, Aurion and Mia embody the family values and have achieved success at the highest levels of the sport. We have confidence in their ability to train both the mind and body of our children.
This club has been awesome for my daughter and she loves going. The teachers make the classes fun, yet they get the kids to listen, focus and work hard. As a result my daughter has become resilient and improved her ability to focus on her school work. The club is like a second home to her and she has made lots of friends of different ages. The club also teach leadership skills and this has shown her how to communicate, teach, guide, encourage and help other children of lower belts. That is something that she can use in the future and put on her CV. I really can't recommend the club enough.
We have been attending Focus Martial Arts for the last 6.5 years! My eldest absolutely loves the classes and her instructors- becoming a black belt at age 11 under their care and guidance. They have helped her become a much more confident girl and recently introduced leadership classes in which she now learns how to be a leader. Her 3 siblings also love their instructors who make the lessons fun for the younger levels but also challenged and focused for the higher levels. This is our 2nd home for sure!
PLEASE PEOPLE BEWARE OF GYM-LIKE CONTRACTUAL FEE AGREEMENTS WHICH WILL BIND YOU TO PAYING EXHORBITANT FEES FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD EVEN IF YOUR CHILD DOES NOT ATTEND. My child has been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD and I (like many other parents of children with these conditions) signed him up in the hope of helping his attention. Not only did the lessons not make an ounce of difference when he was attending but there came a time when he simply refused to go to classes. He hasn't attended now for several months yet $75 per fortnight is being deducted from my account. I've tried to appeal to their humanity but it has gotten me nowhere with the automaton response being that there is a contractual agreement in place that they will not break regardless of any reasons. Please do not fall into this trap. How can this company claim to "BUILD CHARACTER THROUGH SELF DEFENCE" when their actions show a complete lack of character or humaneness? Actions speak louder than meaningless marketing slogans. This is a ruthless business, make no mistake.
