Brisbane Jazz Club reviews
61If a night at the club was a meal it would rate three Michelin stars. The appetiser is the journey there, ferry from Howard Street wharves, under the iconic Story Bridge, the lights and atmosphere. The main is the club and venue- great vibe and ambience and welcoming friendly staff, the location breathe taking. Unique. The artists and music are the icing on the cake. Withs few drinks and nibbles…an unforgettable night out.
-Can't comment on food as didn't have any
-Delicious espresso martini and $20
-Friendly staff and volunteers
-Nice layout
-Good music
Spent a fantastic night at the club. Music was great, as was the food. Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Great lettle venue, saw 7 pc swing/jazz band-really great, volunteer run- really good, good drink selection, kitchen under staffed and stressed, we only had the nachos but sold out of meat to go with it and it came with no sour cream and avo as ordered - disappointing, otherwise really enjoyed night.
Go for the music not the food. Limited menu with only wedges and spring rolls available on the day we went. Tea and coffee. There's a basic bar there, that is not bad. An older crowd with a few younger faces. The music was good though.
Great night at the Brisbane Jazz club, music was fantastic, Judith Nijiand was swinging, everyone was having a fun, relaxed time, will definitely be back
We had a lovely Sunday afternoon of jazz. Staff are great, all volunteers, and atmosphere was great. Thoroughly recommend
From their website I hadn't realised it's a "listening" club and not the relaxed vibe they suggest. Definitely full of jazz enthusiasts. The location means it closes early.
They have a limited range of craft beers and an oddly mixed COVID policy that means you order drinks from your table but you go to the kitchen to order food.
I enjoyed myself, but it wasn't my expectation based upon their website.
Spent a fabulous afternoon listening to the music from my younger years with some dear friends.
THE BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUE in Brisbane. Full stop. Local and interstate musicians in an amazing location on the river.
Seriously. Go! Stop reading this review and Go!
Great music from the Caxton Street Jazz Band. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Fun night out!
Awesome afternoon, great jazz musicians & vocalists. Friendly volunteers, staff & gig organisers know how to provide quality entertainment.
A lovely place with a very nice vibe. Staff are all very friendly and do that little bit extra to make sure you have a great evening. The outside area next to the river has wonderful views of the city and is the perfect place to have a drink before the show. The food (outside catering) was nice albeit not outstanding - steak wasn't particularly well seasoned and the potato gratin was a bit plain. Nice duck spring rolls. Mel and Funky Miracle were a great show. Altogether a fantastic Friday night.
I was there for the first very recently. It was beyond my expectations. Friendly and welcoming staff and volunteers, good music, and excellent river view.
Some of the staff members need an attitude check. Absolutely no tact or courtesy. If you are going to employee these older people to run the venue, train them in some basic customer service. The way they speak to people is disgusting. Also charging punters over $20 to shove them outside in the heat to "watch" the performers on an unfocused tiny TV with terrible sound quality is pure greed. Update the outside of the venue with some proper shade, sound and visuals if you are going to charge and provide the performers with an actual green room instead of yelling at them if they dare make any noise outside. Performers should boycott this establishment until better standards are met.
The live band was fantastic, the staff were very friendly, and the drinks service was prompt and courteous.
The 8 Tracks had the crowd spell bound with their high energy Motown sound. Fabulous solos, wonderful harmonies, fantastic musicians & innovative arrangements of old classics. BJC is a licensed venue with terrific acoustics & staff who understand hospitality.
Brilliant music with a STUNNING view of Brisbane.
On the river.good food and grrreat service.all run by volunteers!
Will be back.
Absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere is second to none, volunteers are extremely welcoming, food was delicious. Would highly recommend!
Very attentive volunteer staff. Nice fun place but will some millionaire please give the building an extension it needs to be bigger.
