Bowen Visitor Information Centre reviews
46Closed like many in North Queensland. Dissapointed that use covid as a excuse when most shop's are open
Disappointing outcome. We had to request a refund as part of our tour was cancelled. That's OK it happens. What is disappointing is the new system will take up to 21 days to process. So we are charged immediately, but have to wait to get our money back. If we had booked direct there would have been no delay. This is not progress! System needs review.
Who wouldn't want to stop at a big mango! Great staff at the info centre along with frozen mango sorbet to boot! Come to Bowen in November when the mangoes are ripe!
We just came in looking for information on Bowen but Ashleigh helped us plan our entire trip in the north Queensland! A very informative and helpful experience, thank you Ashleigh for your time! We left being more excited for our trip in Bowen and ahead. Great experience!
Good place to start your visit. SUPER friendly staff and lots of tours and trips you can book. You will get a good start here. They also have delicious mango sorbet
It's amazing as we drive around the Whitsunday area how little caravan parking there is. It can be a real challenge to find somewhere to stop to shop or buy a coffee or visit a point of interest. Proserpine museum is a prime example although we managed to park in parking area only because there was hardly anyone there. When we came out there were a lot more cars and we wouldn't have been able to stop.
Big Mango! Passed through on our family road trip up to Cairns. Nice airconditioned shop. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ice creams available to help cool off on a hot day and under cover seated area outside.
Pretty good, huge area. Stopped in the pub for a beer. As per previous comments, the mill and trains are somewhat noisy and detract from the site however, I wouldn't say I won't be back.
A good information centre, with helpful staff and mango sorbet for sale. Pretty tasty stuff, that sorbet. Grab one, get a photo with the big mango, and continue on with your day:)
Nice and clean, friendly staff. Everything is very overpriced, as expected in an information centre
Great centre, on the Bruce Highway, just south of town. Souvenirs, maps & info. Helpful staff
Great place to get information about tourist attractions around Bowen. The Big Mango can be found there as well. The location of the visitors information centre is a few kilometres on the south side of Bowen as you head to Mackay
Never could I complain about the service the service is always amazing and with the taste of the mango that's another story, you can't just drive past without stopping taking a photo. And having a bit of mango sorbet!
We stopped here to see the big mango. 100% Bowen mango sorbet for $6 at the information centre.
Very helpful team
All questions were answered
You should definitely try the mango sorbet.
The perfume is also recommended
Very good information, worth going in and getting advice, through the tips we saw turtles in the water. The mango sorbet is also quite tasty.
How could you not stop off here, 1 to take a photo in front of that big mango, and 2.to find out what else there is to see and do in the area!
Stopped here to see the big mango and to go to the toilet and ended up receiving some very helpful information from Ruthie, ended up staying 2 nights to see all the sites she recommended and they were awesome as she described. Definitely recommend the flagstaff hill & rotary lookout, horseshoe bay and birds fish bar!
The staff were so warm, friendly and welcoming. We spoke with Kev who gave us lots of great information on what to see and do in Bowen - with his advice we saw sea turtles from the jetty in town! Lovely people and a lovely town. Thank you!
