Uluru Sunset Viewing Area reviews
25What a gorgeous area this is, go without any time restrictions and check things out and hang around for as long as you can.
Great spot to review the sunset at Uluru. Good to arrive a bit early so you can claim a spot with a clear view.
The rock is most spectacular sight during sunset, when it becomes orche-red mass against the backdrop of a purple-sky.
The colour of the rocks changes from light orange to crimson red and finally to violet dusk and creates an incredible spectacular view.
There are several viewing platforms around, so find your spot and wait for the show to begin.
The walk around Ayers rock base is 10 kms long and takes around 3hrs at a leisure pace.
There is a lot of parking here. Enjoy sunset views from your car or outside. You will see Uluru changing colors at sunset from here.
Would've filled more than twice as many car parks, I'd hate to have paid that entrance fee to miss out! I can't imagine how bad it'd be in peak season, you'd have to get to the sunset viewing area at 2PM!
Plenty of options to extend, no changes that I can see since last here 16 years ago. The shambles of a carpark on the main road is a serious safety issue.
The rock, as always was awesome, even with clouds, no sunset.
