The Lost Camel Hotel - Ayers Rock Resort reviews
39 Large resort with many different hotels and restaurants. You don't have any other choice.
Hotel is outdated and in need of renovation.
Air conditioning very loud. Room noisy.
Staff very friendly.
We stayed in this hotel, good location, excellent value for money. The pool was not very clean, the staff were very kind, a warm greeting to Kim for his advice. I recommend this property.
Very nice, clean hotel with a swimming pool helpful and kind staff, we could leave our luggage before leaving to airport and enjoy village. The room included everything what we needed: small fridge, tea and coffee, basic cosmetic, comfortable bed, extra blanket, bathroom and toilet are separate what was useful.
There aren’t classic widows, however with the light glasses, that was completely fine.
Good location but bad house keeping. They knocked on my door at 8am on first day. Second day they didn’t show up until 4pm. Did a quick half job and left. Didn’t empty the bin, didn’t take dirty towels, left clean towels on the couch, …. Definitely there’s a huge room for improvement.
Everything is expensive in Yulara. With that said, this Hotel was pretty good value for money if you want to be with a bit more comfort than camping or caravaning.
Very good service and thankfully we got the room upgrade. The reception is only occupied until 4: 30 PM and you may then contact the other hotel for the checkin. All the amenities are good.
Decent accommodation but this entire resort borderline practices price gouging as their prices, especially around the holidays, are unconscionable. You’ll be better off at the campground cabins. Because this is a monopoly, they can charge what they want for essentials like housing and food. One of the most disappointing stays in my 7 month trip around the world. Also, if you visit Uluru during the low season, just fly in. The drive from the top end was very underwhelming and most activities along the way were closed. For example, Katherine Gorge hikes were closed due to “heat” with temps in the 30’s! Not the Outback experience we were hoping for. Sunset at Ayer’s Rock is still second to none and worth a flight in.
For a 3 star hotel the room was really nice. For me this is more like a 4 or 5 star hotel. The pool also looks really good.
Everything is very modern and nice.
Also I would recommend to choose a hotel in this area because the town hall, the supermarket and the restaurants are in this area. They offer different tours which you can book in the town hall and there are also different courses offered for free. Like a painting course or a didgeridoo course and you can also go into the art museum for free.
It's very touristic but nice.
There are no taxis in this area. Of course you can walk but it's really hot there.
We were really unsure whether to book or not as you need to go to the restaurants at the other hotels. This was a perfect place for us to stay. Pool open from 6am to 10pm. 2 minutes walk to sails in the desert resort where you can eat at their restaurants and pool bar. You can also swim in their pool. We loved our stay here. 1minute walk to the centre of town too. Lots of activités in the centre of town to do. Don’t hesitate, book this hotel. Nearby across the road is a good lookout to see the sunrise or sunset of Uluru. Room spacious, comfortable bed room 127 near pool area, ground floor.
Great location near the town square and Sails. Comfortable, clean room. No window but we weren't in the room much other than to sleep. Love the pool and pool area. Staff were friendly and helpful. No restaraunt on site but really close to town and Sails restaraunt. Highly recommend if you're on a bit of a budget.
Was good! Be aware, there are no windows in the rooms. You can see this in the website of the hotel
Very n8ce resort with a variety of price points. Breakfast was possibly the BEST included buffer I've ever had. Beautifully manicured grounds with lots of trees and flowers. 2 pools. City center with restaurants, Info desk, shops and a small grocery. I was able to take advantage of the clinic which also provides services to employees. Would go again
Absolutely perfect accommodation in Uluru.warm customer service and super supportive reception
Rooms have very thin walls so a little noisy, you can hear your neighbours having a shower. And the cleaner who starts mopping the corridors at 7am needs to do it a bit quieter. Nice rooms though. Very good location
Lovely friendly Staff, made to feel very welcome, rooms immaculate & wonderful experience. Thanks for a fantastic experience Guys!
The resort is excellent, not so the Lost Camel for specific reasons. Room was clean and curious in a positive way. But the much needed Aircon was massively massively noisy even in is lower fan seeing making even speaking with you partner difficult. And it blows on top of where you sleep. This forces to let it on when away, and turn it off when in the room. Also noise levels were unacceptable at this price, every trolley luggage of guests departing early will spoil your sleep due to the corridors hard floor. Shower is very spacious way better than many multi star hotels, and toilet was nicely apart. A lot of potential let down by poor acoustics.
We heard a lot of noise in our room during the night and early morning that woke us up a few times our room was on the corner of the hotel though staff were friendly and location of hotel good near cafes and iga
Had to cancel my booking two weeks out due to a personal change of circumstances. I called twice and was told I had to pay the full amount of the booking which was not in the T&Cs. This left me frustrated and anxious. I called again and spoke to MJ who was more than happy to help me out with my booking and explained the full conditions which allowed me to cancel outside of 7 days. No thanks to anyone but MJ. Give him a raise!
Couldn’t fault the room, we knew we were booking the most basic motel style and were fine with this. Comfortable bed and big tv, seperate shower and toilet. We checked out other hotels pools and found The Lost Camels to be the nicest! Most of these reviews are out dated now as the resort has started to reopen after Covid, we enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets at Sails and the pub/bottle shop at Pioneer with live music and pool tables. Also loved the lookout with great views of Uluṟu
Not a place I’d recommend old tired service is bad. Over priced for what it is and the two ladies on the counter need customer service training. It’s a shame for such an iconic place such as Uluṟu it could be so much better
