The Jetty Restaurant reviews
72Would never hold a function there again. Dropped off decorations for a bday at lunch when I arrived there at 730pm, the decorations weren't on the tables. Hopeless. Food was basic. Nothing special
Took one bite out of the satay chicken and knew it was raw. Called the waitress over and showed her but she said that what it was suppose to look like and it’s how they cook it. We told her chicken is not suppose to be pink, but she went on the say it’s baked like that and wouldn’t do anything about it. I just wanted to bring it to your attention but wasn’t expecting that response. Would you eat undercooked chicken?
This venue is a glorified Chinese buffet, what was once known for its seafood, it’s now defrosted prawns that tasted awful.
The quality food is cycled in and out on select days such as oysters that were good on Friday’s.
The tiger prawns I assume would be the only good day for prawns on Tuesdays.
This venue needs to focus on quality rather than quantity.
Staff very attentive and friendly…
With a few changes to the seafood quality and variety this venue could really shine
There was a hair in my soup! I did not want to make a big deal out of it just alerted the waiting staff to issue and asked for a new soup to be prepared, but they refused to do it and their perfunctory attitude is unacceptable. The seating arrangement was totally unreasonable, there were many vacancies inside but we were led to sit in the hot outside. I may never come back and eat again.
This used to be my favourite restaurant but won't be back. While the service was fine everything in the buffet was cold. I usually keep going back for the squid but even when they topped it up it was still cold. Very disappointing.
This place has really Gone down hill. It user to be a place your5 look out of place if you weren't wearing a collared shirt. Now it's like they just try to cram as many people in as possible, food is sub par, noisy as hell, hot, and the bathrooms don't look like they've been cleaned in a week
I went there last night for the first time and right now am suffering from a very bad food poisoning. Most of the meals had an awful taste and too cold for one's consumption. Will not recommend at all as it's not worth the price.
Compared to last year disappointed poor selection food asked to leave 9pm all finished big surege charge on drinks rate last year 100% will not be back
We were there last night and discovered that The Jetty and Seafood on Cullem are owned by the same company. What a big disappointment this place was. The food was cold and tastless very unpleasant to look at. The staff was very blase as if they didn't want to be there. The only good thing was the water front view.
We have only given The Jetty a half a star for the above.
If you are able you should try Seafood on Cullem as the atmosphere food and staff are awesome. Would not recommend The Jetty
.
I thought it was terrible. Half the time the dishes in the bain Marie were empty. Service in clearing tables was poor but what can you expect if you don't have enough staff. Very overpriced.
Possibly the worst buffet I've been through. U pay 10 dollars extra for dozen oysters which mine were off. They explained that the "supplier" was not reliable. I dont understand why they served me them. The food is 2 and half out of 10. Service was ok.
They took the oysters out of the menu. Only if you are willing to pay $10 for a dozen. What a disappointment.
Omg.very bad experience dining there. I went there last years was great.i went today food is very bad. Crab taste very old. Squid Smell off, Fried rice very cold, pasta is terrible. Even Jilly is very sweet.if they want customer not to come again. They wouldn't do that. I'm really disappeared it is $35 per Pearson and don't worth that money. I highly not recommended this place and I'm not going there anymore.
REALLY DISAPPOINTED
This is supposed to be a Seafood all you can eat restaurant, BUT if I wanted Oysters, I had to pay for them even after paying full tote price,
Yes the prawns were reasonable but the mussels were old and tasteless and tasted frozen for a long time and thawed in tap water.
Then to top it off, I was not allowed to book until 730pm.
815pm staff came around and advised us to order our last drinks and finish eating because they were closing early
PATHETIC EXCUSE JETTY RESTAURANT
Definitely not value for money for a buffet experience. The food didn't look appetising and tasted sub-par. Food options were limited too. Apart from the outdoor seating, nothing stood out.
Not worth the money. Much nicer places in Darwin to get better quality food for the same or better price with a better atmosphere. Won’t be rushing back!
Salt n pepper squid tasted rubbery, crabs had no meat and tasted like they werent cooked that day, the noodles were dry and tasteless, the sticky date pudding was dry and old.
Pretty disappointing.
Wont eat there again. No love in the food.
Had dinner here last night. The location is definitely great with a nice view. I wouldn’t visit again.
The buffet was pretty average to be honest. Seafood was average with much of it from frozen stock - you can taste the just thawed taste and excess moisture.
The steak was what was really disappointing. I asked for rare and it was well done. Then I saw why. Steak is pre cooked (to no pink/blood) then put on the grill for the char marks - it’s only going to get tougher and chewy from this method - which it was. The crab was way to salty to enjoy.
Other highlights where - Salt and pepper squid which was chewy and stale from sitting too long - condiments where all low quality pre made (seafood sauce was very pale and the potato salad dressing looked like cheap mayo)
Desert bar was frozen defrosted cakes cut into bite size pieces and ice cream that was a very cheap variety. My dining partner tried the chocolate fountain and could taste the really low quality of chocolate.
Over all poor quality and standard.
Service and staff were very nice.
I know this is a cheap buffet at $37 per head, however my recommendation would be to cut down on the variety and increase the quality. Cook steaks to order (or let guests cook their own). Go back to the seafood suppliers and ask how to defrost seafood - frozen seafood is totally okay - you just need to defrost it properly to loose that frozen taste and excess moisture.
Great staff.but come on boss go local and kill the pig.get rid of the imported seafood.
Pond prawns come on
Food was good but not much of a selection. For the price you would expect more. Staff were very nice and friendly
