Standley Chasm reviews
59Loved it saw it in the dry and now with water has amazing features walking through the opening and looking up
This is one of my favourite places to visit as a local! The walk into the chasm is ethereal and the wildlife and the plants have been really well looked after, there aren't any weeds! The kiosk is a perfect touch, the FreakShakes are literally the best things I've ever drunk! I always recommend this to people asking about places to go in Alice! You guys rock!
We've conquered some of the trails, The High Low Loop and the Larrapinta Trail in each direction on day hikes or Trail run sessions. Maybe I should say it conquered us but either way make sure you get back for the bringers and Sweet potato fries and salads. The Saturday morning (only) MEGA icecream desserts for kids are also legendary. Parking and medium long term van parking and camping is also available but ring ahead to check availability.
This is a wonderful locational and the owners staff family there are THE BEST.
Amazing campsite! The amenities are the best, incredibly helpful and friendly management and beautiful scenery! This is definitely the place to R&R on your adventures! We’ll be back ️
Did the short walk to the Chasm. Found it an easy 20 minute walk slight uphill grade. The only downside to our experience was the posers at the Chasm who all they wanted to do was take photos of themselves retake after retake. Just wait and they eventually go away. Best time is around midday to capture the sunlight effect on the Chasm walls. Cafe service was excellent. Friendly staff and the double choc muffin came with chocolate ice cream and cream all for $4.50 and was to die for. Big thumbs up from us.
Such an amazing place. It is not only the chasm but also there are lookout walks you can do. I stayed as well one night and was perfect. Super quiet and good showers/toilets. 100% recommended stop plus the lady at the kiosk is super helpful giving you advice!
What a beautiful place to see and have a meal or just a coffee. Well worth the admission price.
Uneven caravan park for overnight stay but adequate. Lovely early morning stroll was amazing with monster rocks towering over us. Friendly staff and nice cafe. Well worth the $18.00 pp for overnight stay which includes entry to Stanley Chasm
Where do I start? All I can say is there a lot of other businesses who could learn a lot from this lovely little place. The facilities were so nice and clean, the staff were amazing and couldn't have been more accommodating towards our coeliac daughter, the food was beautiful and the prices were good. We definitely recommend stopping for a meal and cold drink after checking out the scenery. Great job guys!
It’s always great to stay here. Very friendly staff with fantastic food and coffee from the cafe. The nights are just awesome, make sure you are up to see the sunrise. The look of relief on the hikers faces once the reach this milestone is worth capturing. This place will always draw me back to it.
Stunning cliff faces easily reached on a short walk along a pretty, winding path through wildflowers, trees and jagged rocks.
Well worth a visit and reasonably priced. The track has been upgraded in recent yrs making it a lot easier for all ages.
The staff in the Cafe were extremely helpful and even offered table service. Very cheap light meals. Plenty of parking. I give them a 1000 stars for their effort.
Great. Worth the drive from Alice, costs to get in [$12 adult] but worth it for the views. Owned and operated by the local indigenous peoples and dome well
This is a must visit spot for anyone in Alice Springs. Highly recommend you do the cultural tour it was very interesting and informative. The whole family enjoyed and the scones were delicious. The cafe attached served delicious food (with good veggie and vegan options) and lovely spot to eat it too
Yet another great historical sight of the indiginous people of the area. An onsite cafe with good food, reasonable prices and a small play area for kids. The staff there are really nice and knowledgable about the area. There is an entry fee of i think $12. The walk to the chasm is only about 15 to 20min (if your not taking millions of photos of the beautiful surroundings) but really worth it which you will see when you arrive. Great place!
We dropped in here on our way driving down to uluru. We grabbed something to eat and drink at the cafe. Had a walk around just for a short time as it was raining. What a beautiful place to stop scenery and staff were nice.
Easy to walk into. Be there as sun moves directly overhead and see colour changes in rock faces.
Beautiful location, the gorge was looking amazing after all the rain, we actually had it to ourselves which was special. The cafe is amazing, get the burger, don't order any extra chips, the burger comes with chips, lots of them, the bowl of extra chips we ordered was ginormous and we couldn't eat it all which was a shame because the chips were the best we had had in ages.
Great place to visit. The walk is only 1.5 Kms each way. Lots of shade and interesting plant life. Saw a poor little dead snake. The Chasm is short but amazing. Very photo genic. The lady in the Cafe is very helpful. Seemed such a shame in some ways that it was so quiet for the staff, but in other ways what a blessing for peace and quiet.
Amazing natural rock formation in Alice Springs. Locals pay $1 entry and other adults interstate pay $12 entry fee
