Shady Lane Tourist Park reviews
59Sites are ok. Decent shade for vans. Unfortunately the park seems to let themselves down in the laundry department. The machines are coin operated only. Since no one carries cash these days I’d suggest to the park they should have some sort of EFTPOS tap n go system linked up to their machines, similar to what the car wash places do these days. Otherwise maybe check out the hotel down the road. The camp kitchen and showers are nice and clean. Water pressure is decent as well.
Served by a rude man at reception that didn’t seem to care, overpriced and the place looked empty
Customer service was disgusting, from the welcoming to problem solving, they were rude and uncooperative, and the most expensive we have stayed at around and through the country.
Good park to use if going to katherine gorge. Clean faciluties and good swimming pool, nice caravan sites.
Couldn't fault it.
Flat, shady sites with plenty of grass and minimal ants (which we've found to be a bit of a problem at most caravan parks).
Pool is nice and big with a great deep end and plenty of shade. Also impeccably clean.
Amenities always super clean and light and bright. Was a nice luxury for us to have such nice facilities to use. And every mirror in the toilets has it's own personal light too.
Bbq and laundry looked great but we didn't need to use it
Management also super friendly! Totally happy to recommend things to do, places to eat and personal favourites.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, little bit of town which I didn't care for but it did make it quiet, the only issue we had was parking work vehicle with a bit tight.
Toller Campingplatz in der Nähe der Gorge, mit allen bei Discovery üblichen Annehmlichkeiten inkl. WiFi on Site (nicht unbedingt üblich in NT).
Beautiful vegetation, sites of different kind in a varied layout, well maintained and clean amenities, super nice staff, a great pool and all that close to the national park but still at an reasonable price. Definitely recommended.
This would have to be my favourite park so far on our way to Darwin. We stayed for one night on a powered site.
The amenities and camp kitchen were neat, modern and clean. They had an inviting pool - which we did not use due to rain.
The hot water was not working in the shower block (they just refilled the gas) but given the temperature - it was not an issue.
We will definitely stay again.
Good experience, affordable prices with clean rooms, great staff, toilets were clean as well. Perfect accommodation.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Discovery Parks Katherine. We were welcomed by staff and all questions were answered, nothing was too much trouble for them to assist us. Our site was wonderful -situated under a large mango tree providing fantastic shade and mangoes. Pool was clean and refreshing. Toilets modern and clean. Great location just out of town. Felt very safe. Little kitchen which we did not use but looked clean and functional. 10/10 would stay again!
Great choice for staying near Katherine George. Beautifully clean, equipped and comfortable cabins. Quiet and good swimming pool and shared laundry facilities.
Great park, plenty of space, all facilities, about 4 ks from the centre of town, would recommend to stay
Very helpful staff. Toilets and showers clean. Despite the space there are no unpowered sites. And it seems the “Park Full” sign is left up even though there are still spots available.
The main negative is for people with kids, as there is not much in the way of entertainment for them besides the wonderful pool area. Overall it’s been a very enjoyable place to stay.
Wow. What a beautiful park on the outskirts of Katherine 26 km from Katherine Gorge. Which is a must see. The sites are big & grassy. The amenities are lovely & the staff are very friendly. A big pool which in the heat is so good. Well done guys a great park!
Really loved this park, stayed on both our way in and out of Katherine. Really clean amenities, facilities and sites. Has a nice pool. Probably one of the best parks we've stayed at! Definitely recommend
Nice park on the way to the Gorge big sites plenty of room good amenities nice camp kitchen good fishing on the creek
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean amenities. Lovely pool to cool off in this humid weather. Lovely shady area to park our van. Only came for 2 nights, stayed for 3.
Nice place to stay in Katherine with comfortable self contained cabins. They're a little way out of the main town, but that's a great thing. WiFi was down for one day which was beyond their control. A suggestion is to turn on the air con and fan to cool the place down before guests arrive as it was a furnace when we arrived and took a while to cool down. Staff were very friendly.
Stayed here for 2 nights with family. Very comfortable beds, good sized, clean bathrooms and sparkling pool. Friendly staff and a good range of accommodation options. Grounds were a bit dry and dusty but it was the end of the dry season. Would recommend and would stay again.
