Sadly the service was appalling and unorganised, food was very average and overpriced and the 'Bunny' came to the table and gave 1 adult and 1 kid an egg (there were four kids on our table), then walked off.
We were all gobsmacked!
I actually had to chase him up and ask that he give at minimal all kids an egg!

YUK. What a waste of money.
Got food poisoning from the breakfast bar.
Staff where rude and disgraceful.
Shampoo bottles where empty,
Beds hurts my back and neck.
Tv doesn't work properly.
The only good thing about this place was checking out.
I WILL NEVER STAY AT A RYDGES HOTEL EVER AGAIN.

Don't buy any accommodation packages for here, it's far cheaper and less hassle to book a room direct and pay as you go, what they & Tourism NT do in relation to packages are just add all prices together add 20% and call it good. Made the mistake of buying a 2 night romantic package, had to prompt them what it included on checkin and on checkout had to see the manager to confirm what was booked and paid for, still didn't receive our 2nd bottle of champagne, for $800 for 2 nights don't make my mistake they don't seem real interested in local business.
Room itself was ok, needs a good clean, previous guest's hair stuck to bathroom tiles and tops of desks etc dusty.
My advice drive the extra 20k into Darwin and enjoy the city.

Food from the buffet tasted like it could be served out of a food van definitely not worth the price and Not up to my cleaning standards.

Went for a Christmas party. Nice room and great smorgasbord of snacks and Christmas cake. Friendly staff.

Ive never stayed anywhere where the staff are so rude to their customers and when I tried to get my money back and stay some where else they refused would not stay there again if they paid me look like I'll be finding somewhere else for the next 2 weeks

We stayed at the Rydges Palmerston as a staycation getaway. We had the executive business suite with both dinner and breakfast at the Madame Za restaurant.

Room was self contained with a living room, large bathroom with spa bath. Very large balcony. Decor was funky, clean and well maintained, the only issue of note was one of the spa bath air controls was not working properly.

Dinner experience wasn’t great, we went to book a table and was told they were full. We indicated we were in house guests and staff said they would be able to arrange a table in an alternate area without table service, which was less than ideal for the prices. As it transpired they gave us table service; it seemed they were very busy and the organisation was a bit of a debacle. Dinner was reasonable for the price (with table service).

We went for breakfast in the morning. Upon attending the restaurant we were asked if we had a booking and we indicated we didn’t. Staff then informed us we would be relegated to the outside area (in the Darwin tropical heat) as that’s the only place there was seating. We have a three month old who we had dressed for the air conditioned dining room, and had to undress her for the outside heat. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and never have I been unable, as an in house guest, to get a table for breakfast. It was exceptionally poor service and I note that despite breakfast being included in our booking, no one informed us a booking would be required. I can’t ever recall at any other hotel having to book a table for breakfast. Breakfast was standard buffet fare but above average.

I very much got the impression outside bookings took priority over in house guests. The hotel needs to assess this and ensure it doesn’t continue in the future.

Finally, when paying staff attempted to charge us credit card fees, we weren’t informed there were going to be these fees and we only picked up on it when it was entered into the eftpos machine and ended up paying on savings. I can’t believe major hotels charge credit card fees. Incorporate it into your fee structure, people absolutely detest paying these fees.

Had the breakfast a 5 day. Good quality but I always get a little miffed and having to pay extra for espresso

Good facilitys and handy location to local industry. Breakfast was not worth it at all, cold and lacking options. Not enough staff, nobody at desk at breakfast. Restaurant and room service was excellent however.
No bottled water in the room as per status level offers, a jug of tap water doesn’t cut it sorry. Bathroom mirror light not working and clearly been like it for some time. Room was clean and comfortable. Fire alarm and evacuation at 6am was not welcomed and no explanation from staff as to what happened. A regular guest commented its happened a few times.

The Buffet breakfast is good value. We've never actually stayed here but we have popped in for plenty a breakfast. Always something different and the cook to order omellette was a killer last time

My partner and I booked a romantic package through the NT Tourism website which, in the picture, included a romantic set up, a $100 food and drink package and a king sized bedroom. Upon check in, there was nothing romantic about our room. Our over priced pizza lunch we had tasted like it was purchased at woolworths and heated up in the microwave. We tried to upgrade our room at a higher cost, however there was no availabilities. During the period between lunch and dinner, we heading to our room to watch something on the "Smart TV", which the remote stated with its buttons. I contacted reception on the matter and they said its not actually a Smart TV, and they get that a lot. Dinner time was incredibly over priced again and the food was extremely dry and flavourless. We were however compensation by the Manager which we appreciated. Later going to our room to order room service, as we still had the $100 meal voucher, which lead to another disappointment from the restaurant.

Due to Covid & Darwin going into lockdown & QLD locking the boarder to anyone from the NT we had to cancel 2 nights of our 4 night stay as if we stayed the 4 we would have had to go into a 14 day hotel quarantine in QLD. We asked for a refund on our 2 nights & they wouldn’t refund the 2 nights only 1 as “we didn’t give them enough notice” Well I’m sorry the government only gave us 2 hours notice before implementing the lockdown. Very disappointed in them not being more understanding when it was totally out of our hands.
On a whole other note. Don’t be in a hurry to speak to anyone in reception as they never answer the phone when you call from your room.

Rydges Palmerston was very good. I booked via booking.com. They were very responsive with the messages, they had very good service, laundry and parking is free. 24 hour reception and extra towels.
Had a great stay! Thanks!

Highly recommend. Visiting Darwin during these tough times was always going to a challenge.
- Exceptional customer service which can be hard to find these days
- Clean, modern and very clean rooms
- Pool was great for the kids and we managed to visit the Gym which was very impressive also
- One of the best buffet breakfast going around
- Bar was nice and modern with a great selection and staff who understands what’s available
- Very impressed with the Indigenous Artwork in the foyer.

We will be back and will also be recommending to any friends visiting the Top End.

Yesterday a group of 7 turned up for a high tea which had been booked, but the hotel put it down for a day earlier. We waited whilst they prepared the table and food. The scones and canapes were dry, obviously revived from the day before. The cakes were tasty but minimal.
The bill of $45 per person was grossly overpriced.
Never again

How are these people? They respond to make it look like they care and then guess what? NOTHING.

Went to an event that they catered for. Organiser had asked for vegetarian and dairy free vegan food in advance. When they brought the food out they had some labelled as vegan or vegetarian etc. However the vegan food had what appeared to be yoghurt all over it. When asked about it they informed us that dairy was vegan.those of us that were allergic to dairy were apparently wrong about our dietary requirements.while this discussion was happening some other people were complaining about the plates having bits of food on them because they hadn't been cleaned properly. Not very well organised. They eventually brought out a plate of dairy free food so it wasn't all bad but still.
