Quest Palmerston - Serviced Apartments and Accommodation

Convenient location next to Palmerston local markets although it can be a bit noisy. Have a lovely balcony. Semi self serviced apartments with laundry service, gym and pool included. Room size is good. Good price for value.

Not alot of choices for hotels in palmerston but this is nice enough. Seems fairly new and walking distance to the Palmerston shopping centre

I have stayed at several hotels & apartments, and have never had the worst experience than with Quest Palmerston. At the time of booking the accommodation with Quest, I informed them in writing the time we were arriving which was 12: 30am & we would be checking in at 1: 30am on the day. I also spoke to them several times prior to arrival, only to be told on the day of our departure they had not read my note properly & we would have to pay for an additional night. To which I informed them I had not allocated funds for the additional night as I was assured we could arrive at the time we did & the booking would start on the same day. Because of their error we did not have anywhere to check into until 11am (which they said they would kindly allow an earlier booking as normal check in is usually 2pm). However this meant from 1: 30am to 11am we had nil accommodation. They allowed us to cancel the whole booking, but rudely charged us a night due to cancellation being within 48hrs. I have requested manager contact & the date had nil. We were told we would get a call from manager within 24-48hrs, then when we followed up we were told a return call by the end of the day & still nothing. A typical business who is only out for their money & how they can screw over the consumer.

I am disappointed by my stay this time round at Quest. I have stayed at Quest twice before towards the end of the year 2018. It was the reviews that drew me to the place to begin with. This time round I had several issues with my room which I brought to reception's attention within half an hour of my stay. The young lady at the front I found to be rude in a sense of attempting to intimidate me by excusing my complaint, correcting me as if my own eyes decieved me and she even went as far as asking me do I complain alot. She was not willing to hear my complaint of a leaking Airconditioning (water streaming down the wall and not from condensation as she instructed me) or my simply request to find out when the room was last clean as there were very visual food crumbs near the coffee table including ring marks from a previous guest's beverage and the shower had a stench odour of mouldy water, it had broken tiles, mouldy seals and mark's all over the glass. During my conversation with her she continued to answer the phone as if my complaint was none of her concern. Due to the lateness in my arrival the cleaning staff had apparently gone home and I was going to be contacted by the manager. This has not and did not happen. Generally I do not like to give negative feedback because it's damaging to a business, although this could have been avoided with better customer service and better quality rooms. I only rated it 1 star because you have to in order to write a review but overall I won't be returning or recommending to friends, family or work in the future. It's unfortunate the standards have fallen since my stay in November and December. I don't know what's worse the very poor quality of the rooms of the poor quality in staff.

We have just spent 8 nights at the Quest Palmerston, it was fantastic! All the staff raised the bar for customer service, it's the best we have experienced. In our opinion the staff made a good hotel into a great one. Our room was clean and very well presented with a nice view. The pool, gym and laundry are sparkling and in good working order. There is a Hogs Breath on the ground floor and buses near by. Everything we needed was so close we parked the car in the secure, underground car park and walked everywhere. If I could I would rate this more than 5 stars because we had such a brilliant time here.
