Pee Wee's at the Point reviews
70Beautiful dinner last night, outside under the stars. Food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. Staff were lovely too. Thanks Pee Wees
One of Darwin’s absolute best restaurants in a superb spot overlooking the bay. We booked a few weeks beforehand and glad we did or we’d have missed out. My hubby said his barramundi was about the best he’s ever had and ditto goes for my pina colada. Crispy noodle wrapped prawns for me were delicious as was the marscapone cheesecake we shared. The carpaccio entrée didn’t quite hit the spot really the only downside but all in all we loved the evening and Maia who looked after us gave us good advice and perfect service.
Had a wonderful time. Food was fabulous and the staff amazing. If you go to Darwin, you must try this restaurant!
Been waiting to check it out since I first saw it last April and it took ages to get a booking. When I made the booking, I wrote that it was a wedding dinner and they called back saying they couldn't have two brides as they had another wedding on. Mine was low key with only 6 guests and I wasn't going to be wearing a white wedding gown so I asked them to remove the reference to a wedding. Finally made it to dinner and the waitstaff esp the restaurant manager was unfriendly like she didn't want to be serving. Food was OK. The location is what makes it. But for the price, the service could be better.
I found the Miso eggplant very very underwhelming for very expensive price. I love eggplant but the tiny finger eggplants skin were tough and the miso flavor was missing something but the service and other dishes were very good
Unless you are wearing noise cancelling headphones with Bluetooth communication to your table guests, my advice is to book a table outside as the acoustics at the indoor dining area is nothing short of shocking. I suffered possibly the worst acoustic assault on my ears in my 45+ years of dining history at this prestigious restaurant. "Please install some rugs or sound deadening fixtures". Anything to soften the blow to my tympanic membrane! How anyone could possibly re-book to eat indoors at this place is beyond me. The food is excellent and staff are lovely.
A wonderful way to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Visiting from Melbourne, Pee Wees was recommended to us by friends and absolutely lived up to our expectations. A lovely setting (we sat outdoors), very friendly and attentive staff and excellent food.
Fabulous service, sensational food, spectacular views and definitely the highlight of my trip to Darwin. Will most certainly be visiting again. Great memories made.
Although not the cheapest this restaurant is probably one of if not Darwin’s best. Food is great, staff are excellent as is the wine list. You can enjoy a starter in the lounge area then move to your table or if you wish you can just book a table in the lounge area and enjoy some great finger food and drinks. In either case Pee See’s should be a must when visiting Darwin.
Overall, I'm not sure if I'd return again. The place is in a lovely spot with some decent food, however it seems more interested in catering to regulars than to one-off customers and the experience we had was pretty mediocre
We were a party of 4, with 3 vegetarians. I'll admit that we were slightly late because of a traffic snarl near Mindil beach due to a music concert there (which we had no idea about). However, when we arrived were greeted with a sour face and no verbal greetings at all. The hosts shrugged their shoulders while asking a member of the wait staff to direct us to the table.
We're seated at a table all the way in the corner which is honestly the worst table in the whole place, even though several tables look empty (and remain empty till closing time)
Once situated, we're told that we had to order all of the food immediately as the kitchen was closing immediately (we were 2 hours and 15 minutes away from the restaurant closing at this point)
We order the Tempe Bao buns, Rose Harissa Cauliflower and Adobo Pork cheeks for Entrees, along with mocktails for drinks. The Tempe Bao Buns are delicious, warm, light and airy with a nice filling. The Adobo Pork cheeks are absolutely fantastic, honestly among the best food of this kind I've ever had around the world. The cauliflower is just okay, but the accompanying cauliflower cream is tasty. The drinks were pretty good too.
We order the Duck and the pumpkin for mains (along with every vego side dish on the menu). The Duck is honestly quite disappointing, the meat is dry with the potatoes having a heavy potato salad like texture. The pumpkin is really nice, with the roast pumpkin flavours going well with the risotto. The side dishes are bland and uninspiring,
We end with desserts which are lovely again, the Cassava cake being the highlight.
Throughout the dining, the wait staff (not the hosts) are lovely, being kind and patient.
Amazing food and service. The staff were very friendly. The servings were not to dig. Prices are up there but you pay for what you get
Great location. Good food. A bit pricey but you have to spend it, as you can't take it with you at the end!
This place is fantastic. The food is to die for. Expensive but well worth it for that special occasion. We went for our tenth anniversary although we have been together for 49 years. It does take a while to train them. You have to go there. It's a must. Put it on your bucket list. Compliments to the chef and all the staff where great.
We came in without knowing we had the dates wrong.
They were very accomadating and they found a seat within less 5min. While they had a function and still very busy.
The food was absolutely amazing we had a seafood plate as a entrée and OMG loved it! The mains was delicious.
Tip* wouldn't recommend the wine we choose tho.
Pee Wee's was already our favourite restaurant but we can not rate them highly enough after they also helped us arrange our short notice elopement at their venue. Despite being fully booked for a function, the team accommodated us to find a spot to hold our ceremony, then found us space for cocktails afterwards. We thank them so much for helping us put together our amazing wedding.
Delicious! We enjoyed a relaxed lounge Christmas celebration with platters/dishes of oysters, cheeses, cattoucherie and more plus a couple of cocktails and Jansz sparkling rose
Really enjoyed this place and we will return. Pleasant staff [if somewhat a little under trained ]. Stunning location however And a great place to see the sunset and and the tide come in
Ok…Once you get the opportunity to dine here, do it. Your going to experience high fine dinning standards with incredible views. Only a very few restaurants in the world meet this caliber, so to have one here in Darwin you should save a few bucks and enjoy the date night out.
Dress is not casual so please find your best frock or slacks and relax. The next hour or so you’ll be pampered with attention and gratitude while enjoying beautiful food with views. Just order their house wines as they are delicious and of very good Clair Valley quality & a standard price.
I loved the little bits they add to your dinner, the try this entree complimentary, add this sorbet to cleanse your palette. These are the types of fancy tidbits you get in France.
We sat inside and sadly didnt book early enough for the table right at the windows. But being such a hot night we wanted cold from air con. The tables outside were lovely and if you could turn the breezes on when you wanted them, then that would be lovely out there; especially during the dry.
I look forward to going back to Pee Wees again soon.
My wife, Daughter and I, were all disappointed in the entire experience. From not answering our calls to make a booking to absurd prices for essentially fancy decorations on our plates.
I have to admit my rating is mainly based on the price, Because nothing about the experience justified it, for any of us.
Underwhelming. I know we where a late sitting but the food could have been better. Location was great.
The stater was good and service was too.
The chargrilled squid for entree was chewy.
The pork rib for main was a pork chop, not what I was expecting at all.
