Nitmiluk Tours reviews
53Amazing local business, supporting local employees and giving access to the beautiful Nitmiluk National Park
Friendly staff. Informative tour. Nice little walk between gorges to break up the tour. Would recommend to friends and family
Travellers be aware. Reconsider booking the 2 gorge cruise if there is a possibility the river is flooded.
Due to no fault of the operator, unfortunately the river was flooded, and we could not go up into the second gorge, which was the main reason we were paying $97 (x6 of us) to see. Obviously the flooding is not anyone's fault but the replacement tour that was forced on us was total trash. We were ferried up river to quickly view some rockart, then clamber our way up to a swimming hole to swim with 2 boat loads of people, and a swarm of flies was a very poor alternative.
The issue we had was the fact we had no choice in the matter nor any refund. Since we could not do the tour advertised and paid for, we could have gone away to enjoy alternative possibilities in the area. But instead of refund or even a discount we were forced to spend 2 unhappy hours on this poor alternative tour, ruining our time and cost to get to Katherine and our day.
I understand there is a cost to maintaining this beautiful resource but the greedy exploitation needs to stop. Either put up a cruise that is equally worth $97 or offer a discount or refund.
Also spend some of the mountain of cash being extracted from visitors on a new sound system for the boat as it was hard to understand half of what was being said.
This is the 4th time I've been to this beautiful place and have brought a different party each time. It is stunning country that has been here well before humans and will be here well after these operators are gone. Unfortunately the hunger for cash shows a lack of respect for this stunning natural resource.
Great adventure. Amazing and beautiful gorge. The guide was very informative and friendly. When you get to Katherine this cruise is a must
Really cool guides doing a great job and really enjoyed cruise and swim tour with our baby girl and the two guys were helpful and friendly and didn't try too hard to be funny or anything just down to earth and doing an awesome job looking after us and everyone and the waterfall was beautiful. Thank you
The cruise was just wonderful! Fascinating commentary and beautiful surrounds but the swim was the absolute highlight. Just incredible. Highly recommend!
Very informative cruise, water provided on board the board, guide was helpful but could have been a little bit more entertaining. I suppose it was a 2pm cruise and it would have been a hot day for him! And us!
Good food, good coffee, great facilities and beautiful views, all set in tranquil bushland. Nice quiet place to recharge and relax.
My wife, 8 year old son and good friend went on the sunset tour last night. It was awesome! Our guide Jamie was extremely informative and welcomed questions throughout the evening. Seeing is believing and the gorges are not only enormous but extremely beautiful. We were well looked after by the chef and the wait staff. Highly recommended whilst visiting the NT. It's worth the 3 hour trip from Darwin.
Did the 2 hour boat cruise. The driver was very informative and interesting. Ramp down to the boat then up river we had to change boats due to low water level; we had to walk about 300 m along a well maintained footpath with some steps and small rocky areas. There was drinking water on the boat. You get to see huge cliff faces, some small beaches, freshwater crocodiles (if you are lucky) and picturesque waterfalls.
Its a pity, that this place stops serving food after 2pm in low season. Other than this - its a great place!
Great place. Free muffins, tea and coffee for those who get up early enough for the dawn cruises
