The park has only recently been reopened
The caretakers are doing their best to bring it back from disrepair
In only a month it seems they are doing a great job
Amenities although outdated are very clean
Grounds and camping sites very well kept
Lots of clean bins, and mowed grassy camps
We camped in an Apollo van and really enjoyed the environment
It seems to me that the new owners will need to work very hard to bring the on site accommodation up to standard
I think future patrons will love the wide shady private spaces.
But will need to be a little considerate of how long and how much money it will take to bring the park to a good standard.
We thoroughly enjoyed our not long enough two nights so close to all Litchfield has to offer.

New caretakers since September 2021 — a really lovely family from the Sunny Coast. They’re slowly making heaps of improvements by the sound of it. We had a really comfortable stay on a powered site. (Since the change rover they’re only taking cash right now, but their eftpos will be up and running soon). The facilities are clean, showers are big. No overflowing rubbish bins or anything like previously written about. And the bird life in the morning is just gorgeous. They have drinking water on tap too near the bathrooms.

After booking a powered site for 3 nights and to arrive the day thinking it’s open when it’s CLOSED! No phone call, no email, no text message NOTHING. And to top it off all the other camp grounds were full also so we had no other place to stay so we had to head back to Darwin. Absolutely appalling when I rang and she was super rude over the phone. Never experienced this in my life.

We paid for 3 nights, stayed for 1- then promptly found a much better camp. This place is in very poor condition. Rotting tents, trash overflowing out of multiple bins around the site. Some areas look like a junk yard. The photos on the website are not recent. Not a place for children.

If Wangi falls is very busy then this place is an alternative. Manager/ owner is not a people person at all. The grounds and amenities are all in very poor condition. However if you can put up with those the grounds are large and plenty of shady unpowered sites. Do not recommend the permanent tents they look they are all about to fall down. Good luck!

A real shame this place is so run down as the location is perfect for accessing the main sites within Litchfield. We attended the park office at just before 4pm only to find, who we assume to be the owners drinking beers out the front of the office. Luckily I’m a dog person as there were dogs, large and small running everywhere. No real welcome or explanation of the parks facilities was given so we were left to work out where everything was. The bathrooms and toilets are badly in need on maintenance! All in all if you can avoid this place do so. If not, suck it up and make the best of it.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The website is clearly old! We stayed in the safari tents and knew as soon as we arrived it was going to be horrible. Firstly the tent was covered in mould, and very dishevelled. The window zips were broken so you couldn’t close them, one was held up by a bobby pin! The doors lock wouldn’t work. There were spiders and webs all through the tent and en-suite, including in the shower. The bbq wouldn’t work and the owner couldn’t have cared less when asked if he could look at it. There was a party at the house behind with dogs barking and music blaring until midnight. And people coming and going at all hours, 3am, 5am. Fair to say we got no sleep! Our 3 y.o stepped backwards off the balcony when trying to get on her chair for dinner as there were no safety rails. We aren’t ones to complain and have never written a review before but it was a disgrace staying here. It should be shut down. The owner doesn’t care to improve it. Do not stay here!

Not a fan of this place. The staff was very friendly as he came all the way to help check on our power plug. But there wasn't much we could do there. Kitchen was pretty rundown.

Green shady sites with grass! Don fixed a problem in the shower when we told him it was just a trickle as he wasnt aware. Ideal for tenting as the area is spacious. Amenities adequate and tidy and waking up to birds every morning was like being in a jungle. Pool was out of order but the locations to the Falls and pools made up for it. There is a small deli type kiosk for a few essentials and a great cafe with homemade mango cheesecake and muffins a kilometre away for the 3 busy months. Very happy staying for 3 days and being on a powered site recharged the fridge batteries. Would go back again!

Don't go with photos as some wrote already. Tents are not in good condition and needs maintenance.
We stayed for 10 nights and owner billed me for 11 nights and said i am giving you discounts for one night.
After paying one of my mate said we actually stayed 10 nights and owner said i can't do anything now as you have already paid.
No discount given as promised.

The park has ample shady grassed sites and the showers and toilets were clean and recently painted. Sure it cost more than the dusty sites near Wangi Falls but we had plenty of room and there was a barbecue where we cooked dinner over a fire. This was an authentic NT experience without the crowds!

Great little campground, simple facilities heaps of shade and grass to set up on and plenty of room for kids to run around. Owner/manager was friendly. We've stayed here a few times and definitely will be back.

The owner was rude and made the prices up, Tried to charge a group of 5 of us 35 p/p which is 175. I pointed out that the sign he had advised showed the price at 38 for two people which he said was incorrect, just seemed like he wanted to charger such a large amount as we were backpackers. After This we left and stayed at wangi falls campsite much better!

The photos online are VERY misleading. The shower did not work at all, both days! The fridge was dirty and we couldnt sleep in the bed as they were filled with bugs, like the pillow was moving with bugs.
I expected some creepy crawleys but not like this, there were cobwebs which had accumulated everywhere. Not due to the fact it's rural it was just plain dirty.

The whole place is rundown and unloved. The camp kitchen has an old dirty stove and 2 dirty old BBQs both out of gas. There are no other facilities. The Safari tents have to be seen to be believed. Filthy dirty no facilities for cooking apart from a rusty old toaster. The tents are well past there use by date. The place could be OK with some maintenance and new Safari tent accommodation. Better to stay in camp ground near Wangi Falls and much cheaper

We spent ten nights in the area. The one night we spent here was more expensive than the other 9 nights put together in other parks. We rented the safari tent with a queen bed, 2 bunks and a loo. $160 for one night was super expensive for what it was. The park is full of Junk and the pool is a water tank with a ladder. They had no record of us having paid up front so we had to pay again because we were in the middle of nowhere. They have agreed to refund the duplicate payment. Pending arrival.

A good camping site with powered sites, but no WiFi. There is a little "shop" where you can buy some few things (like water, some canned food and ice cream). There's drinking water that trickles out of a tap by the toilets and showers.

A camp kitchen with no kettle and no toaster. Signs up in the shower block that says any electronic devices plugged in will be confiscated and you will be charged for a powered site if you want it back. Do yourself a favour and stay in a national park site instead

Dogs barking non stop, manager wasn't sure when owner was coming back. Ended up leaving and going to Wangi late at night so I could get some sleep
