Litchfield National Park reviews
40Definitely worth visiting. The waterfalls there were amazing! It’s possible to drive to all the main places with a 2WD. We enjoyed our day trip a lot.
A beautiful weather day in the middle of the wet season! Not a cat in the parking lots, alone in the world! Happiness even if we couldn't swim everywhere! A favorite for Florence Falls (be careful: 135 steps to get there), magnificent view point from the top. The termite mounds are also very impressive. A beautiful day as we like them.
You could theoretically do Litchfield in a long day trip from Darwin, but if your only doing a day trip around the park your much better staying closer. Litchfield gives a good little snapshot of the Northern Territory’s unique landscapes. You’ll see waterfalls, giant termite nests, there are some really good short walks as well, all achievable in a day if staying close buy. If you have more than a day of course there are so many more options.
Stunning National Park with plenty of easily accessible waterfalls and swimming holes. Plenty of parking at most spots and public toilets at the more popular places. An easy drive in and out and a very doable day trip from Darwin
Litchfield National Park in September 2022.
Amazing natural scenery and beautiful falls here. I recommend getting to the falls early, if you want the place to yourself. My favorite was the Tjaynera Falls. The track in was for 4WD only and there was a river crossing so this helped keep a majority of the tourists out. I had the place to myself. Stayed two nights at the Wangi Falls campground. So great to be close to Wangi Falls, could hear them at night. Incredible view of the stars at night as there is no light pollution. I saw a couple of wallabies in the morning. Thankful.
It’s a wonderful national park. You can make a easy day trip from Darwin. Or maybe take one or two days more away from the city, enjoy the nature, and explore this amazing national park. There aren’t just beautiful waterfalls and rock pools, but also rock formations like Lost City.
A variety of experiences, swimming in the waterfall pools a must, friendly people and lovely scenery.
Love this park lovely place to take the motor bike and have a swim ️ at wangi falls or bluey rockhole
A true highlight of our trip when travelling NT under 35 degrees. There's so much waterfalls to refresh yourself.
Florence falls was my favorite. You can easily do the park in one day.

WOW, don't miss this amazing place if you're passing by, waterfall after waterfall on sealed roads with well maintained walking tracks, information signs and even free wifi at Wongi. Don't miss it
Love swimming in the water holes. We had a late lunch at Wangi. Only just got served at the only food shop in the park before they closed up at 2pm. The park could do with another Cafe near the Batchelor entry or
the Buley rock hole.
Magnificent place to visit
Great swimming places
Highly recommended if you are in Darwin
Went to Wangi falls, just beautiful water fall is flowing, water not to hot or cold, not many people (weekday) cafe is open 10am or/11am to 2pm.very nice quiet, picturesque.
Absolutely brilliant. First time back out there in 40 years. The facilities etc at all areas are fabulous. Highly recommend
Lovely, interesting and picturesque, great views and photo opportunities, loved Walker Creek & Wangi Falls.
Plenty of walks and waterfalls. Some of the walks are steep and over rocky terrain but well worth the effort.
It was a truely amazing experience! Easy hiking to the waterfalls with beautiful scenery and even a better scenery at the waterfalls where you can swim! I wish I had more time to spend here!
One of the NT's more popular parks, very busy but lovely swimming holes, wish they would open Wangi to swimming, I'm sure they have the expertise but perhaps not the desire to do that
Loved the waterfalls.all of them.swimming in Florence Falls definitely a highlight.pity we couldn't hear our coach driver very well.
A great park well worth the effort to get there. It will take most of a day ex Darwin and there is plenty to see.
4wd not required.
