KOA & Malak Caravan Park reviews
32Please note that the KOA & Malak caravan park has new owner and is also under new management.
The caravan park is situated proximity 10 minutes from Darwin CBD each site has it's own shower, toilet and vanity also a washing basin. There is a swimming pool. There are200 sites at present the park is approximately half full.
We rung up around 4pm regarding unpowered sites, the owner stated we could book an "ensuite". We reiterated that we would be in town around 9pm and asked if that was ok to check in then. The owner stated that he would make sure someone was on grounds to check us in at that time. 9pm came and we were still 20 minutes away from the park, we courtesy called. The response from the owner was absolutely disappointing and bezarre, he stated that the person staying to check us in will not be waiting more then 5 minutes. The owner was disrespectful and rude whilst we were trying to explain that now we will not have anywhere to sleep. The owner told us to go to another caravan park, however it was now 9pm. I dont not recommend this caravan park, they are not professional and do not have any respect towards potential customers. Poor customer service.
Stayed here 2 years ago, thought it was quite good. This time, nothing's been done to improve it, except the price. Too expensive for what it is. Go elsewhere.
This place was an awful choice! We called early evening before coming in and the lady on the phone said we can just drive in pick a spot and sort everything the next day. We arrived at the camp site and found all toilets and bathrooms are locked and would require key that their office would provide. We rang the office after hours number and the lady was talking about how they do not accept drive insand that there is some "legislation " that would prohibit any camp site to check in anyone after 7pm. So it is now 10pm and we're in hidden springs valley about to be checked in. That woman was either crazybor on drugs. She does not know a thing. Also, Hidden valley is a much better option.
One of the worst caravan parks we have ever been in grounds were descusting no pool amenities back in the 70s need upgrade or at least painters and $55 per night what a joke We stayed 3 nights was enough now moving to a big 4 park with not 1 but 2 pools would not recommend this park to my worst enemy And they are saying was because of cyclone Tracey get a reality check how many years ago was that nearly 45 wake up owner
One of the worst caravan parks in Darwin region & one of the most $$$! Makes no sense! Don't book here, they need to lower rates to reflect run down state of facilities
Its an unusual place, probably because it was severally hit by the last cyclone. It has its its own feel and quite pleasant. The down side it its cost. Up front fees plus electricity which is metred.
Needs a lot of money spent to bring this place up to a standard where we would be happy to pay $300 per week.
We have been comming here for the last20 years and enjoy every thing about it yes after the cyclone it still needs some cleaning up
Office girl very roodno body in park had to park wear she said out in open sun attited was take it or leave it so we are leaving it.park has had no money spent on it for years very run down and overpriced at 300 a week plus power with a 100 bond for what it's a joke
Cold water and very outdated a shame really wouldn't take much to spend and give a lift lovely and quiet.
