It is a place that helps you connect with Mother Nature, where you can appreciate the beauty of the fauna and flora.

A very large national park, it took us 2 days to see everything. Really worth a visit! We were completely alone everywhere, no tourists

A very beautiful national park!

You should familiarize yourself with the seasons before visiting. At the end of the dry season (November) I liked Litchfield Park better because the plants there were greener and less dried out. It was very dry in Kakadu National Park and there were a lot of wall fires. Many areas of the park were shot. You can get a lot of information about the park in the visitor center.

There are many warning signs pointing to crocodiles, this risk should be known beforehand. Bathing in the waters is therefore not recommended.

Day trips are rather strenuous as it takes up to 4 hours to drive to attractions in the park.

Still a very nice park that has different things to offer in all seasons.

Great experience. Motor car falls still has water. Majuk too, and is more spectacular but busier. Morning walks are best as its hot. The rock art is impressive. Mosquitos are bad at Yellow River but we saw 2 crocs. Jabiru tourist centre is very nice and informative. NB not much accessible drinking water so you need to plan if camping. The Jabiru tourist centre has chilled water-a 4 tap machine! Also it can extend your 7 day pass for 7 more days for free. Telstra 4G in Jabiru.

Utterly spectacular. Almost overwhelming. Only downside is it is huge, so plan your visit and activities to minimize driving time. Expect extreme conditions. Some kind of boat cruise essential to properly experience the wetlands. Very limited services unless you are at a resort. Check supermarket hours. There is no McDonalds (or similar)!

Just had a week here in Kakadu. We loved it. With the lockdown a few tours were cancelled but there were still plenty of places to see. Did several walks to see the Aboriginal rock art and sunset walk at Ubirr. We met Tasha from Kakadu National Park at Ubirr and loved the time spent with her learning many interesting things about the area and her personal stories it was a real delight to hear her outlook on life
as an indigenous person. Such a beautiful and positive lady. I would come back here again.

It’s all closed! Drove into the Kakadu to find out they have closed almost all attractions! Really disappointed!

Great bush camping and walks. Excellent info and education around the walks and rock art sites. The cultural centre is brilliant. The Guluyambi cruise on East Alligator River was also brilliant.

They have the hide to charge $40 per adult for park fees and most things are closed due to seasonal or cultural closures. Will never be back.

Unfortunately we are disappointed with our visit in the Kakadu National Park. We spent 2 nights there and unfortunately found out to late, that almost everything was closed. Unfortunately, there were no signs at the park entrance and the visitor center was also closed. But lot's of signs tell the visitors that you need a park pass for $ 50. In think it's a absurd price for a park where you can't even see half of the attractions. The free campsites (that we wanted to visit) were closed and also many of the campsites for $ 6 were closed so you had to camp for a fee of $ 15. Unfortunately, we only liked a few of the hiking trails. Most of them were overgrown, wild and long grass without nice views. The only beautiful thing was the aboriginal art.

Kakadu National Park, in the Top End or the Northern Territory, is a World Heritage Site and one of the planet's great wilderness areas. Covering more than 19,840 square kilometers, Kakadu is the largest national park in Australia and the second largest in the world. Within its borders lie monsoon rainforests, mangrove swamps, rivers, gorges, ancient rock paintings, wetlands, and waterfalls, as well as an astounding diversity of wildlife. In addition to the many mammals, reptiles, and fish, more than 300 different species of birds make their home here, and both freshwater and saltwater crocodiles lurk in the wetlands. You can explore the park's diverse ecosystems by car, air, boat, or on foot via the vast network of hiking trails. Note that during the wet season (Nov-April), many roads and attractions close due to heavy flooding.

After visiting Kakadu or kakadont ive formed an analogy
If a sextillion mozzies dont bother you the absence of any attractions physical or cultural should
We visited beginning of June 2021 and my daughter paid a parks pass of 100 bucks expecting at least some cultural experiences nothing doing nearly everything closed the place is in decline and i get the sense that we we were not welcome i dont think the indigenous people of the area are entirely happy with outsiders being there thats fair enough you wont get any recommendations from me id rate my experienve zero out of 5

Half of the attractions were closed (cultural or seasonal reasons) and to go to the other half you need a 4wd, but still you have to pay 40 bucks (even if you do a day trip). It's worthless the long trip you have to do just to see two lookouts

This unique archaeological and ethnological reserve, located in the Northern Territory, has been inhabited continuously for more than 40,000 years. The cave paintings, rock carvings and archaeological sites record the skills and way of life of the region’s inhabitants, from the hunter-gatherers of prehistoric times to the Aboriginal people still living there. It is a unique example of a complex of ecosystems, including tidal flats, floodplains, lowlands and plateaux, and provides a habitat for a wide range of rare or endemic species of plants and animals.

Kakadu National Park is one of the most impressive wonders of the country. Above all, Kakadu holds dreamlike landscapes, lush vegetation full of life, a variety of views, and a humid climate. Waterfalls, rivers, extensive plains, stony hills, ravines and diverse types of plants make up this impressive National Park. Kakadu surely took all the best sides of the region.
If you are thinking about visiting Australia, this has to be a mandatory destination. Stopping here and admiring everything that the Kakadu National Park has to show is a must. And you can enjoy it all on a four-wheel-drive safari!
Kakadu is located in the South Alligator River system, to the far North of Australia, a couple of hundred kilometers southeast of the state capital Darwin. However, if you come from Sydney or Melbourne, you have to fly to Darwin. Most airlines offer international flight packages including inland flights.

Over rated and over priced! They advertise all over Australia to visit Kakadu and than one thing they put an expensive park entry fee on it and second, everything is shut! I was always looking forward to go to kakadu once in my lifetime, and so far it's been the greatest disappointment I have aver had! Domt waste you time, there is heaps nicer places in Australia. Booking tours, phones half the time are not getting picked up, and emails don't get answered either. A place of disgrace!

AMAZING! Worth the long trip, beautiful country. Accommodation is in short supply, book ahead. Cooinda a better option, Crocodile Hotel at Jabiru old and run down, broken door lock and used bag stand across door, couldn't use table and chairs outside our room, covered on bird feathers and filthy, only interested in tour groups, not! Worth the cost and would NOT recommend to anyone. Meals at Jabiru Golf Club were best value in town and IGA does great fresh takeaway lunches every day. Yellow Water Cruise and Arnhemland Tour were highlights of the area.

- bush fires run rampant throughout the park, and everybody's reasoning is that it is Aboriginal tradition and culture.
- very little signage to most of the attractions, limited accommodation options which is overpriced, in disrepair and frankly, dirty.
- nothing screams nature conservation less than a crocodile skin hanging over the reception desk of the main Mecure hotel
- many of the attractions were closed (cultural or seasonal reasons), even though all visitors pay the full $40 pass to visit.

Over priced considering most things are still closed, visitor information centre at Jabiru dirty and staff do not tell you that places of interest are closed but willing to take your money, save your $$$ and go see Litchfield park much better. Kakadu terrible experience.
