Had a great welcoming experience, Alex was friendly and very accommodating. I found Alex knowledgeable, good customer service and provided us an above and beyond experience.

We enjoyed the delicious food, value for money with accommodating also a unique experience.

We certainly will be back and highly recommend, come yourself to experience the real unique outback experience.

We are currently here and received a warm welcome (despite the rainy cool weather). Our campsite is fabulous and we have had a campfire as well.

Do yourself a favour and order your dinner from the shop. It’s delivered to you like Uber eats. And my chicken schnitzel burger was AMAZING.

Great spot to visit. We enjoyed the wide open spaces and activities available. Make sure you you arrive on the days for the camp oven feed

Very disappointed in the patrons, extremely unclean unhygienic amenities not suitable for disabled not dog friendly as advertised was continually harassed by I'll mannered patrons seems owner trying but unfortunately doesn't seem to have the capacity to manage this could be a good bisness if maintenance and basic guidelines where in place unfortunately seems that gemtree has seen better days hopefully owner will invest in better hygienic infrastructure and put in place code of conduct for the patrons that is based on facts not hearsay from bitter patrons

Ein schöner großer Campingplatz. Wir blieben eine Nacht. Haben dort in unserem Rooftop Tent geschlafen. Die Toiletten und duschen sind etwas herunter gekommen/ älter, aber sauber.

Amenities in terrible condition, very much in need of cleaning and maintainance. Haven't seen anything like that before. Every dump toilet in an nationalpark is more inviting. And they charged 30 Dollars for unpowered!

You must try the homemade custard slice. When we heard Attijera community staff travel 90 km for their custard slice each week, we just had to try them. Wow! Glad we did. Cameron in the gem shop is extremely knowledgeable and helpfull for gemstone fossickers like us. He also gave us good deals in the shop. Alex and the team put on a great BBQ spread once or twice a week and we were able to watch the State of Origin on the big screen while making new caravan friends at the outdoor venue. Gemtree's Garnet and also Zircon fossic tours are very informative and brought home some cuttable stones. That's twice we have enjoyed our stay at Gemtree and fossicking at Harts Ranges. It may be 2,500km from our home in Rockhampton however we are keen to return. (Try the custard slice and homemade pies).

This place is a must stop for everyone passing this way. The Weds roast dinner was awesome and plenty of it. Meet some great people and did both the zircon and garnett fossicking. Plenty to do. Stayed 3 nights. Pies are worth having too. Plenty of real meat and filled to the brim.

Have been here before. Very busy and we had an exceptional fire in our fire bucket. This is the way to camp.

Well run park with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Cabin we had was a bit squashy but comfortable.

Camped overnight at a powered campsite.
Included: Hot showers, toilets and washing machine at amenities block (washing machine = 4 x $1 coins).
Pre-paid meals can be delivered to your site if you book while the kitchen is open. This was a huge bonus and not many other places offer this convenience.
Firewood is BYO which is pretty much standard at every other campsite I’ve been to. Fire pits are scattered throughout the camp area making it easy to put a few chairs around for your group without disturbing other campers.
They had an evening meal and bar open for limited hours but we decided to get an early night and missed that so I won’t include that in my rating for this review. Check other reviews for more info on the meal and bar situation.
Overall I’m really impressed with this location and the friendly staff. I would definitely recommend other travellers consider stopping here for the night.

We hadn’t planned to stay at Gem Tree on our trip down to Alice, we booked a room unsure of what to expect and we were stoked with how lovely and informative the staff are. We attended a fossicking tour and found garnets - we did not have time to search for Zircons but we will definitely be back in the future. We stayed in an ensuite room which was finished with cute furniture, cups and plates which made the stay that much more comfortable (not to mention aircon!). The bathrooms and amenities were simple but everything we needed for the night. We also met some lovely fellow-travellers and everyone seemed to be very happy and relaxed around the place. Very pleasant.

Nice little park in the middle of nowhere. Ablutions clean except for water stain marks. Bit dusty. Nice vanilla slices @ $5. Found some garnet around caravan site on ground.

We were very keen to come here and it lived up to its expectation. We booked 1 week in advance. The facilities were very clean and well maintained, spacious level sites. We had the Saturday dinner under the stars which was delicious (wish they gave us more though because it was so good!) as well as a garnet fossicking tour. The fossicking tour was exceptional and a thing you could do at your own pace with tools included in the price. Then you went back to the store and got them graded. This is a must do experience for all! We will come back again for the zircon tour and we can’t wait!

Very enjoyable stay. Some visitors were less polite stole our firewood and were noisy until late. Gemtree really looked after us and let us use zircon equipment

Good bush style camping with power and a reasonable price. Amenities are good and the 2 roast nights are good, quality depends on who cooks.

Staff and facilities are great - the roast dinner was fantastic with fires lit and marshmallows for the kids.
