Frontier Hotel Darwin

This place is a bit run down. Ok for the price depending on what you are paying. Cockroaches, holes in the towels. Needs an update but ok for a very cheap place to stay.

After arriving earlier hrs in the morning, been told we don’t have a room, showed email and still told will have to rebook for and extra 50.00, for our first night, then get slug 100.00 bond for the week.
Main desk staff are very rude.
Rooms yes clean but no plug for sink in bathroom.

The hotel was closed yet they still accept bookings and forward your order to another hotel without any notice.

Rooms are lovely and clean well stocked with amenities, has a jug and toaster but doesn't have a microwave but am sure staff would be more than Han helpful and heat up food if requested.
Rooms could do with a revamp.
Loved the swimming pool, and that it had a pub downstairs which offered discount on drinks if you showed your room key
Service desk as great
Parking was limited so had to park further away from hotel.
But location wise is situated in a great part of Darwin
So much in walking distance

Topless bar girls and strip shows on Friday afternoons.
Free access to swim pool and cheaper than normal clothes washing facilities on the basement floor.

Old hotel but neat and clean all the same. Definatly recommend trying to get the downstairs rooms that lead into the pool area.

Great local pub with good food and entertaining trivia night. Food is pretty good too. Have not stayed here so unable to comment on the rooms.
Be aware this hotel does have adult entertainment nights also.

I was asked to leave the down stairs pub by the manager because I had smoked a joint. I use medical marijuana for chronic back pain and even offered to show them my medical cannabis card but they still made me leave. It's 2023 bra, htfu.

It was poor because the staff said they will bring up a blanket and toilet paper for us and we had to ask them several time and they still didn’t give it to us and we had to go down there and ask and they gave it to us but had to wait again because he said he would bring it up but too way too long and had to ask them many time.

When we arrive they said to call us for anything we need and we needed few things and ect … and the phone in the room doesn’t work at all. Don’t say we can call you if we have anything when their phone doesn’t work!

The cleaner they never came since we been there for 1 week and they it was very bad and poor room wasn’t clean everyday and all up I wouldn’t recommend coming here!

The hall way smell like wet feet and the staff wasn’t really around at all and didn’t give us much communication about the pool. Like we thought there will be pool towel down at the pool and it there wasn’t and we didn’t know that and wish we did and we had to go receptionist and ask and had to wait 20min for them to give it to us! Just everything was unorganised

Horrible hotel. Only positive was the bar/ restaurant. You will se my pics. Mold in living area. Not even near window or air unit. Ceiling in bathroom falling down. Fridge barely opened fro the carpet. Trash under 2nd bed from previous guest. Don’t for the roaches seen and killed by myself and co-worker in his room as well. Wi-Fi was horrible. I really don’t have anything positive to say. Elevators horrible. Far right would break down often. I stood in it for around 3 min waiting for door to close. If you want cheap and bad, this is you let place. If not then see my pics and take my warning. Stayed there for 3 weeks. They take your money at check-in so we couldn’t change hotels. Soap would come from the drain in the bathroom each morning I showered. It was nasty with all the dirt and hair in it. They advertised they remodeled in 2018. No way. If so they should get money back

The room was old and shabby. Looked very different from pictures in their website. The staff were super friendly and nice.

Basic rooms, there’s no roof light in the main bedroom area with the room also lacking a fan in the bathroom. The shower was installed for someone that is 5’6 unfortunately cannot be moved any higher either. The hotel staff however were very nice and the pub downstairs was also well priced and was located right next to the pool that was very clean and had good seating. Location to city centre great, e-scooter park outside the hotel which is great! The room was the main downfall of this entire stay! Maybe not again for us…. Improvement needed

Very basic hotel photos on website outdated. No restaraunt, no breakfast facility. Great pub meals though. Walking distance to Mitchell street, about 15mins but after a few days of this legs ache. Allow at least half an hour for taxis or ubers ti even show up. Shower is over a bath so not good for those with limited mobility spend a little more if you can. Was sent email saying accommodation Changed to sister hotel in Smith street, but up on checking in told there had been a glitch. Was at our expense to get to frontier. As staff refused the indians on desk were borderline rude, however all other staff smiled and seemed friendly

1st Room had Bedbugs!
Got another one instead. Both Rooms were bit dated and run down, even though it was an upgrade from the standard room
Below average room service - used water jug was left behind in the fridge
Budget accomodation with good location

Stay overnight for a work in Darwin.
Room clean. Mineral water not provided, maybe this is oz thing.

Had a meal here. It was ok - could have been a bit hotter with a bit more dressing on the salad.

They are charging too much a night for this hotel. We booked a room with a twin and a single bed and they moved us to a room with just a double bed. We complained that we should have had an extra bed and they brought some kind of medical bed which kind of collapsed in the centre. They then brought a second bed but the wheels ending up falling off that. I also felt that the bathroom was very dirty and that the rooms were not cleaned that well. There were also ants roaming around in the room. I would personally avoid this place.

This is the worst hotel I've ever been to. The staff illegally charged me an additional fee without permission and I will be escalating this to Fair trading.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This place rocks! Great service, top entertainment and the locals were really great with the tourists. Get this place on your bucket list!

Delightful and affordable service, good facilities but the internet speed is shocking. Don't expect to run any streaming service. Very close to pretty much everything that you can visit in the territory, has complimentary laundry and kitchen facilities. Plenty parking and pub with pool and gaming facilities. Use the front entrance.
