Alice Springs YHA reviews
41Need I say more.this hostel is the example of diversity if you ain't judgemental! Very cozy and relaxing spot right in the CBD of Alice Springs! Management is super chill and helpful!
Finally a shower booth with a thoughtful design! Come people look at this beautiful cubicle, it’s gotta have at least 3 hooks (old/new clothes and a towel), a narrow shelf at the height of the chest, a wide shelf at the height of the knee cap! Beautiful job, well done!
Oh and of course it smells always nice and fresh, the taps have extremely hot water to poach your body in a cold morning, and the room is huge to fit in 16 beds and still feel like it’s my own room! Don’t even have to mention about diverse trees, plants and pots ;)
When Hostel life feels like coming home.
A really mixed up group of guests, make the days in the yha hostel very interesting and funny! There are a few longtermer if you are a open mind and communicative, they include you in the hostel family group and feels absolutely like coming home after a long shift of work.
When you run your business with heart.
Anna and Alex are absolutely gorgeous! The managers of this hostel have always an open ear for your worries and always try to help out!
They manage the hostel with so much love and effort and invest a lot of their privat time to help the guests with the little and big problems of every day!
Thanks Anna and Alex you are just awesome!
The only really negative point are the problems with the bored street kids, they even climb over the high fence around the hostel and try to find useful things, so lock always your car, even you park inside.
The staff are so great here. They make me want to stay more. Great place to meet people and close to everything in town
This hostel is very close to Alice Springs main street so the location is great. Rooms are clean and big, with air-conditioning. Bathrooms are clean aswell. The kitchen is big so it's very easy to cook and they provide a lot of facilities. The staff is really nice. There are some cockroaches at night around the outdoor area - but luckily I've never seen them in the room or in the kitchen. I think it's normal since Alice Springs is very hot during the summer.
The staff here are friendly and the hostel has an overall good layout with an outdoor cinema, swimming pool, indoor TV room, dinning area and kitchen. While it's not the best hostel in Australia it's far from the worst and is comfortable stay for the duration of your visit.
It's an easy walk into the town with local shops and restaurants not far away.
Not a safe hostel to stay at. People are hitting each other, are throwing fist-size rocks at people (other guests/bystanders could easily get hit) and insult random guests. Drunks get to stay there instead of getting kicked out even though they are harassing guests.
Other guests make this an extremely uneasy stay.
Rooms themselves are okay (some don’t have windows, if you mind that) and toilets/showers are okay, too.
Staff at reception is friendly and very accommodating, which is sadly the only really good thing I can say about this hostel.
Got put into a room with no windows, a big double door that you can pull open with your pinky finger, a card-entry door that you can push open with your shoulder and broken light holders. Not suitable FOR A SCHOOL TO BOOK THEIR STUDENTS INTO FOR CAMP.
Good hostel with comfortable needs and a pool. Wifi is pretty slow unless you upgrade for 5 dollars and it's a little faster. Private room for a couple is not a bad price. Clean bathrooms and a decent sized kitchen.
Well priced. The rooms and amenities are pretty clean and the staff are quite helpful. Its in a great location and short walk from everything.
Stayed here only for a night. Seemed overall pretty decent. Facilities are clean and sufficient. The location is pretty good. And the pool is a nice touch. However to me the place lacked some atmosphere and charm.
Staff very helpful if you take time to introduce yourself. Facilities are neat, well kept, and location is quiet, but able to make new acquaintances easily. Two grocery stores nearby and bus station. If you don't mind walking, easy to get around town to stores and restaurants.
This YHA hostel is really nice and clean. The room has good noise isolation. The kitchen is well equipped with necessary cooking tools but the stoves are 4 in there which means that you have to wait for the cooking with fire. The share bedroom are cleaned and every bed has its own light for operation. It is a nice experience to stay at here.
Very clean place and friendly stuff.
Unfortunately we had to wait 30 mins for check-in because the woman at the reception went to mc Donald’s
Free wi-fi is slow. Price too expensive for 16 persons in a room. Very good showers and kitchen.
A lot of unwanted noise, music, singing, in the courtyard until 11pm. This could be heard from every room.
Amenities (showers, toilets) ok, but in need of some maintenance. Kitchen clean and tidy.
It's a backpackers place and pretty decent. The receptionist was away when we arrived and had to wait for 15 mins before she came. There were couple of others as well. Nothing to complain, beds are near and common washroom are clean too. They have a common lobby with TV next to the kitchen and dining.
Lovely yha, well organised. Staff is friendly and helpful too. Some of the residents can be a little too laud
Very big hostel with a lot of space. The kitchen is very organized and well equipped! There is free wifi in the living and kitchen area, although it‘s crawling slow.you can get faster wifi and in your room for 5$ a day (which is too expensive imo). Nice pool, too!
There’s no male or female toilets or showers, but small bathrooms with a toilet and a shower in them, which is neat.
But when I wanted to check in, nobody was at the reception for about an hour.
I recommend this YHA if you're going on an outback tour. They keep your bag and stuff locked up and safe while you're gone. The beds and rooms were comfy and the bathrooms were decent too. I like the privacy of the single washrooms. And the proximity to things in town is great!
