Alice on Todd Apartments reviews
34This is the best pet friendly accommodation in Alice Springs, it's also in a convenient location, about 15min walk to town.
Booked 2 weeks. Took 8 days to change linen. No floors swept or mopped during 2 week period. You are expected to do it yourself. Broken door lock. Broken washing machine. Sink in bathroom blocked. Advised hotel. 8 days still not fixed.
I have loved staying at Alice on Todd. Definitely my prefered place to stay in Alice Springs. ️️️
Stacey, Amy and Hannah are all really helpful and easy to talk to. I have stayed in the studio, 1 bedroom and the 2 bedroom deluxe which I shared with my family.
The balconies are generous too. The kitchen and bedroom sizes are good and there is cross ventilation and lovely trees around. So important to get some fresh air, which is often hard to come by in terms of accommodation.
Would recommend!
A horrible experience. Was not our cup of tea. Service was horrible. Asked three people for a replacement towel. No response and one of use had to use a small hand towel. Nearly slipped in the bathroom. Water from the shower was jetting well past the safe place. The whole bathroom was a lake and I had to use my towel to wipe the bathroom floor to make it safe for my husband to use. An absolute OH&S hazard. Don't recommend. The receptionist was not interested and appeared to be just there not cheerful but the attitude is highly questionable Had to give it a one star as I couldn't submit it. But seriously it is a NO STAR
Whatever you do. Please don't stay here. The worst customer experience I've ever dealt with. Graham and his wife are just disgusting.
If you are reading this, stay somewhere else. Don't make the same mistake.
EDIT: As seen below this person is obviously delusional, there was never police called or anything. What rubbish. What ever you do. DO NOT STAY as proven below.
Horrible experience
I made plans for a NT trip. At all 7 hotels I booked I asked the same series of questions as I had a friend who is partially disabled
a) does it have stairs or near a lift
b) Is the shower a walk in or over the bath.c) what is the configuration of the bedding.
Any place which had stairs only was immediately discarded as it was not disability friendly.
Fast forward a few months and I confirm the bookings and again would again ask about the shower and bedding.
So, I booked the room at Alice on Todd.
A few days before I was to arrive I received a phone call, which I answered on speaker phone and those around me could hear. Again I confirmed it was disability friendly and the bedding and gave them my credit card number (as they had recorded it incorrectly).
On Good Friday the 15th of March 2022 we arrived at 7: 00PM, got the key from the key safe and went to our room (211). The room assigned to me had some 18 very steep stairs! I called Graham on the after hrs number I was given. He told me the place was completely full and he knew nothing of the booking and I would get a return phone call. I received a phone call and was told it was not possible I was not warned about the stairs, there is no other rooms available as they are booked out for the long weekend, I could take the room as it is and if not it would not matter as she could easily re-sell the room. So it seemed her problem is solved but she washed her hands of mine.
I frantically made called to over 15-20 places in Alice Springs and environs to find nothing was available. We were left with no option other than to try to help my disability challenged friend up the stairs or sleep in a car. We did the stairs.we saw a mouse on the grounds but ignored this. The next morning, we helped my friend painfully descend the stairs and back up in the evening. At 1: 00 a noise was heard but I thought it was the fridge. By 2: 00 am we discovered there were multiple mice in our room. There were some in the suitcase, some in the kitchen and I am sure I heard something in the couch.
We had to specially get up early to wash and dry the clothes which we thought were affected. We went into the office to complain about the situation. My friend told the woman at the counter that her mother is now in great pain due to the stairs and that having mice in the room was not acceptable. The woman claimed Alice Springs is full of mice and this is to be expected. My friend explained that this was not the case as they should be in the room! As she was talking to the woman at reception, the woman kept on cutting her off and dismissively walked away from the desk stating that we could have called Graham at the time, (although they could not have moved us as, according to them, the place was full). I took over the conversation at this point and again stated this was not good enough and I insisted on a full refund and to be compensated for the food we had to throw out. She refused stating she was there for only 30 minutes that day. She then again stated we decided to stay and so she would not refund. Again I asked her and again advised her that if she refuses I will litigate to cover all costs including the physio for my friend and this will cost an estimate of $3,000 - $5,000. She said I could write to her. Again I asked if she was willing to risk this amount and she said yes.
I asked her for her name. She put on a childish voice stating that she had forgotten her name. Again I asked her for her name as I will need it for litigation. She again refused. She was still some 3 metres away from the desk as she never came back after talking to my friend. I started looking at her desk to find something with her name on it. I picked up the computer monitor hoping I could see something there but could not. She then called the police and came back to the reception so she could give them a description (although she had my full details already). She stood in front of me and described me as fat
I called Graham (the after hrs manager) who told me it was his wife and I can get my stuff and F%$#! Off
Cannot recommend this place enough if travelling with pets. Huge back yard patio for them to relax and go out to enjoy a bite to eat. Easy check-in. Lovely pool and location near the Todd walking trail.
I stayed here for about 9 weeks while working In Alice. The accommodation was absolutely fantastic. I loved the balcony which over looked the swimming pool. The apartment was equipped with everything you need to stay. The apartment was very clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only down side was the occasional dog barking.
Thanks guys for forwarding on my mail.
My room was serviced the days I was at work. Love coming home to clean sheets and towels and the staff made the bed. Thanks guys.
Just loved staying there and will come again.

Basic but clean accommodation. Exactly what we needed. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool great to cool down in.
Fabulous pet friendly accommodation! Room was spacious and very clean, everything was well presented and working, clear instructions for pet owners. Bring your own pet bedding, a pets are allowed in the room but not on the furniture or beds.
Overall a good stay. Not in the centre of town but nice quiet area and seemed safe enough. Town centre is easily walkable and there is also a public bus nearby if you don't have your own car, however bus service can be infrequent.
Studio was nice enough, bed was comfortable enough however was a double so a bit short and narrow if you are used to a queen or king size. Laundry facilities were convenient also.
We stayed in 1 bedroom apartment, must have been the older section, it needs an update. But, comfortable, well located, easy walk to main shopping areas. Has tv in bedroom and living area, basic cooking requirements, good fridge, outdoor area that needs a clean up. Overall reasonable value
Excellent place to stay. Clean and good location. We stayed twice between camping trips. It was a great place to take a breather. Storage was available and we could leave winter gear there while we headed north. Totally recommend
Been here 3 times, staying in its one-bedroom apartments. Just off main road, Gap Road, going into town, look for turnoff at the Lutheran Church. Also has 2 bedroom ones above us in which we havent stayed. Big place, 57 apartments I think. Short & longer stay. Portable hotplates (2), no oven but microwave, shower, good hotwater. Accepts dogs & has disability friendly bathrooms. 10' walk to convenience store (Piggleys) and 30' walk to town. Well-priced, says it has 90% occupancy rate despite downturn in tourism.
The apartment was spacious and well equipped but it was very cold at night in June, even with the heating on all night. There was a 3 or 4 cm gap under the door with a very cold draught coming in under and around the door. It doesn't seem to be very well Insulated. Perhaps it was just our apartment. I expected more basic comfort for the money.
With our much anticipated 6 week trip cancelled once again due to COVID19, I needed help to cancel my booking. Stacey and Graeme were understanding and helpful and we can't wait to get back to Alice and stay at Alice on Todd in the future.
We stayed for a week during the Pattjima light festival. The room was spacious enough for three adults, however it was difficult to sleep due to the exterior lighting being on all night; the blind/ curtains didn't effectively block out the light. It was also annoying that other guests had set off the shated washing macine after 9.00pm, followed by what I assumed was pump that operated during the night which also interupted our sleep. The pool wasn't heated and the spa was under repair.
I stayed 8 nights in one of the self contained apartments while working in Alice Springs. It will be my first choice for accommodation on my next visit. I enjoyed it very much, the location was convenient, the amenities were excellent and the bed very comfortable. The apartment had 3 rooms, a bedroom, en suite bathroom, along with a combined kitchen /lounge room. The wifi was fast enough to stream Netflix so I was happy. Recommended.
Really good location, very clean and spacious rooms, and beyond excellent service. Highly recommend Alice on Todd. Will certainly stay here again. My kids loved the heated pool:)
DO NOT STAY HERE. We drove all the way from Mount Isa to spend a few days in Alice and required dog friendly accommodation so booked here in advance. After driving 11+ hours we were told they only have a few dog friendly units and none available for us (despite our booking). They blamed a third party website and said this happens all the time. The reception was extremely unhelpful and now we're in Alice scrambling to find somewhere to stay.
Please avoid this place or if you can't then I suggest calling days in advance to confirm they have you down for a dog friendly room.
