This company will not refund any accommodation costs so please be aware of this fact. My husband stage [3 Lung Cancer] had secondaries detected [3 brain tumours] 3 weeks prior to departure therefore was advised not to fly. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS! This was to be his last holiday. Heartless and no empathy at all.

We stayed at the governors Lodge for 7 days, the following is what we experienced.
• Cobwebs on all of the cabin windows and door
• The cabin smelt stale and dusty
• As the office was closed on Sunday so we had to purchase toilet paper
• By the midweek clean we were out of soap, only had half a dozen sheets of toilet paper left and tissues, on return to our cabin in the afternoon, it had been cleaned, except the floor had not been vacuumed and we still had no soap, no new toilet paper and no tissues, I approached the office who supplied 1 soap, 1 toilet paper and 1 tissues.
• I had to go to the office and ask for additional toilet paper on three additional occasions as I was only given 1 roll at a time and I had to ask for additional soap.
• Fruit was only part of the continental breakfast on one day.
• The breakfast long life milk was off on one day and the scones we stale every third day
• You could not upgrade from continental to a full breakfast, if you wanted a full breakfast you had to pay full price.
• By 9 am you had the feeling that breakfast was over, even though it finished at 10 am.
• The gardens very poor, the grass has not been cut

Ate at Baileys Restraunt last night. The food was decent but portions were small and way over priced. The food at the local bowlo is much better.

Dinner in Bailey's was not a good experience. The steak was overcooked and tough. Not good when the cost is $42.
I would not recommend this supposedly fine dining restaurant.
My burger at the Leagues club was much better.

Bailey's Restaurant (food better at the Bowlo) was an experience to be forgotten. We were first told our wine choice not available due to logistics but we forgave that issue. Then told our entrees selection was all gone. Then after asking what was available 3 items were not available. Our entrees arrived - Calamari was good. Tuna great and Lamb Kofta okay.
Then the mains! Five Chicken roulades were served cold and dry.
I was advised the Steakfrites was good.
My local fish was overdone and the supposed potato mouseline (mash) was lumpy and chilled.
Best dish of the night the vegetables.
When I attempted to tell the waiter about the food issues I was told the chef had gone home!

Our time at the Governor's Lodge was quite appauling. No one seemed to know anything and a lot of blame was pushed onto other staff if things were not done. Part time staff telling us she was management, when in fact she does the accounts once a week. Took advantage of the ammenities including her family, when we as paying guest had to wait. I would not reccommend staying here. Its getting very tired. There was also no restaurant on the "resort

Felt they whole resort was in decline! Colour of white (grey) towels and bed linen was a disgrace. Continental breakfast was not my idea of what it should have been!

Having just returned from our second trip to Norfolk, I offer the following comments. Firstly, it is not a cheap destination and accordingly a tourist has a right to expect first class service. Norfolk seems to have lost its charm. The Governor's Lodge was disappointing. Some of their advertising needs corrections. 1. Their restaurant was only open for breakfast. That was inconvenient for us as lunch and dinner required travelling to other venues. 2. They advertise paid Wi-Fi. That is not true. We were charged $20 for one Gig.and still got nothing. The Wi-Fi network opened but then refused to provide a window for the code and password; and it only allowed two clear days to log on. Other value places provide free Wi-fi. Other guests had the same problem AND we got no refund offered for that inconvenience. This was the first time I have stayed in villa type accommodation in which there was no stove or even a toaster. Sure, there was a microwave to heat something up but you cannot toast bread in a microwave. It seems there is now a concerted effort to compel visitors to eat out and spend their money. Regrettably I think it is going the same way as Hawaii and the Gold Coast did. Too much focus on money and not enough on tourist satisfaction.

Not the cleaning place I have stayed in. There were used tissues our bed side drawers the room was dusty and hadn't been vacuumed a long time. When I spoke with reception I got little response and nothing was done about it. Some of the staff in the restaurant were badly in need of smiling lessons

The scarcity of food items was a surprise to people used to having access to everything, so certainly not confined to Governors Lodge. Meals are small, and compared to the mainland, overpriced. Again, it's the same all over the island. The rooms are 20+ years old and starting to show it. Staff are mostly international backpackers but quite good.

This is a well positioned resort and comfortable accommodation in nice grounds.
Check in was not able to cope with the influx of both accommodation and car hire in a timely manner.
Lack of eggs and fresh fruit very noticeable. Change your menu if you can't supply

Great location, very comfortable, however the fact that the restaurant was not operating was very disappointing.

No air conditioning and only some rooms had fans, beautiful grounds and friendly helpful staff. The room we were in the bedding needed updating and the fan was noisy, the room also had a musty smell. Breakfast at the restaurant is expensive and basic for $15 and you are better of going into town.

Nice. Not too far from "town" - about a 15 minute walk. Bailey's Restaurant was pretty good. Our package gave us a $250 credit, so we enjoyed happy hour for 3 nights and 4 meals there - 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. It was closed for refurbishment for the first 4 nights of our stay so we got to dine in some other places in Burnt Pine. The resort is not self-contained (no cooking facilities) but we did buy cereal, etc for our breakfasts. Comfortable king bed, and a great shower! Nice pool area but I didn't get wet, even though I did take a cozzy. It wasn't hot enough for me to swim, but it was very popular with families. The island is spectacularly beautiful so would recommend a visit and Governor's Lodge was very pleasant. If you don't mind all the waiters calling you "guys" and "youse" - 2 of my pet hates!

Governor's Lodge has been on the island for many years. There are lots of units here. There is a pool and spa, two restaurants and a shop which you can buy lunch and coffee and non alcoholic drinks. If you book tours a bus will collect you at the office and return you home. There are a couple of restaurants across the road that you can walk to. Cars are necessary as a fair way to walk to town. You
rent these via the office allowing you to drive yourself where you wish. These are mostly earlier models of smaller cars imported to the island. A car is rented from the office.
Tropical gardens all over the complex with colourful flowers.
Governers is known to be completely for the traveller.

What a beautiful place.

Staff are friendly, and the serenity is a welcome change for myself.

I haven't seen the rooms, but the rest of it is beautiful.

I liked the setup.individual units. My main issue was the shower and the constantly changing water temperatures which were either very hot or very cold. Food and variety.were excellent. Internet was not great but that would not be the facility, s fault
