60 Service was nice and the food came out fast,
Sashimi was 6.5 out of 10
Meat and vegetarian dishes were way too salty and over seasoned
I give 3 stars because the service was friendly
But for the food no more then 2 stars
Amazing food and really great vibes. Ordered about 9 dishes (thought they would be small!) but definitely enough to eat between the two of us. Most interesting were probably the eggplant 2 flavour (a great fusion of Asian and western flavours) and the Scallop or sushi taster plate. Least favourite would've been the popcorn shrimp as it was just a bit too fried. Last dish of braised beef was too much that we got takeaway but I'm not of a fan of the strong meat flavour/smell.
Went for lunch.had the Karaage Teishoku (set menu). Salad, Chawanmushi (Savoury warm egg custard), miso, rice, karaage (fried chicken) were all great.prices seemed very reasonable also. Location wise it was a little cramped but understandably its Sydney.
Very tasty food. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. The cooking is detailed and proper. The sake selection is pretty good as well. I think I had the best sake I've ever had here. Overall we enjoyed the dinner very much.
Solid choice for Japanese in this area. We go for the cauliflower popcorn - which is not to be missed. The gyoza is pretty good. The service is always excellent and, if you are interested in sake, they will start you off with a quick sake tasting which is a nice touch.
Dinky lil hole in the wall in an odd location. Brilliant food. Miso cod and Aburi sushi is my go-to. Great sake selection. Easy to get drunk on a Sunday night!
The closest to authentic modern Japanese cuisine you can find in Sydney. Fresh seasonal ingredients combined with a buzzing small-space atmosphere.
This was the first time we have been here and the food was great, the staff friendly and service great. Thoroughly recommend
Good welcome, helpful staff, service was okay. Seating rather cramped. Some menu items were pretty grim, for example the pork buns (which I recommend to no-one) they were cold and the meat seemed very fatty, not to my taste at all. Others were surprisingly nice, for example the chicken skewers, which went down rather well. We needed lots of water, which indicates to me high levels of salt and/or MSG. Prices were expensive for what was supplied.
The food was amazing! I recommend the "Me so hungry". Yes it's actually named that, it gives you a variety of chef's choice dishes and they are all delicious.
I have been coming to Yachiyo for over six years now and it has never disappointed. Lovely staff and delicious food. Try the yuzu carpaccio and the mushroom agadashi. I have taken many friends here and they all love it. I will continue to dine at Yachiyo for many years to come.
Really? Being from America, I am used to disappointing Japanese food.but was surprised by the very poor service.
Such a little gem! I’m so glad I was recommended this place, otherwise I never would’ve found it. A fantastic place to go if you’re in the Cross and wondering what to eat.
In this restaurant you'll find the best Japanese food, very fine, amazing customer service. Thank you very much
Very bad customer service. Poor quarilty food. And over price. 1 small piece of salmon sushi is $6.very dirty in the shop. Couldn’t find any good point. Sorry
Went there few months ago and did not have a great experience. Average above food but poor customer service. At the end, the restaurant marked our booking as no-show in the dimmi system.
Fantastic little Japanese restaurant a little hidden away from the normal hotspots of the area but definitely recommend popping in. Very friendly and helpful staff when we had any questions and good variety on the menu. Will be back and could see myself spending a relaxed evening there choosing some small share pieces enjoying some sake, very cosy atmosphere:)
Slow service, forgot drinks, we were served uncooked chicken and sent it back only to find it still on the bill then the chef wanted to argue that it was cooked and was just rude! Will never go back to this place ever again! So many better places to eat at that cook their food properly before sending it out!
Great service and food. We had the "me so hungry" set menu and were not disappointed. Top class dinning
