Woolworths Metro Newtown reviews
50We were at your store today 9/1/22.5.45pm You had whole Stegels chickens on sale for $4.50 My friend was served by the shorter female register operated & she told him the price was wrong & she wanted to charge him $14. He was upset & left without the chicken Manager please let your staff know they were wrong!
Forcing people to buy expensive options by removing standard cheaper products people actually want. They’ve stopped ranging non-organic frozen spinach, home brand garlic bread and pasta sauces. They’ve given so much additional space to local expensive products like $12 pasta sauce from a local cafe. Try to avoid going here as much as possible and can’t wait for the Aldi to open locally soon.
Not bad wollies but has limited stock. Great for getting a couple of items on the way home
My wife and I visited the store on 21/09/2022 and checked out at 11.20 am. The person attending the cash counter was rude, dismissive and she disappeared from the counter without handing us the receipt.
Ok this is such e.like “we r fresh food people” no ure not go to kfc and u will find fresher chicken there
Cashier handed back a smelly sock instead of my $5 change. Two hours later i came back and saw they did it to someone else.
Staff are often unfriendly- when I say - Thankyou, have a great day- I expect a reply. Often it’s just ignored.
Front of house staff need training in simple polite customer service. Checkouts are often unstaffed and have to wait too long!
A smallish Woolies with a good selection of groceries for a store this size. Tends to stock more premium brands than generic. Also has a carpark which is super helpful given the location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Never enough staff on checkouts and can't use coffee promotion cause have to wait forever for staff to become free
Won’t answer phone. Store not being restocked. Why bother opening? Rather head to IGA on king street or foodworks near the station.
More like WOOLWHERES-THE-REST-OF-EVERYTHING!? Ammayyrighht?
Seriously, only go here for half of what you need. Five stars because I’ll just go somewhere else next time.
I usally go to this woolworth's, tonight when I was there the woman at the self cheack was watching every thing I did and I bagged everything up correctly since their bagging scales are always triggering she made me take everything out of the bag that I had already scanned all over the bagging which hasnt been cleaned and who knows what germs are on there. And thought I was stealing she made my pay twice for soap just so she wouldnt embrass me futher, a other thing happend with guy next to me but she didnt bother cheacking his bag or anything, she waited for me to enter my pin to pay which was so wrong. Treatment was terrible Will just trek it to newtown or other stores from now on. The woman was indian and wears a turban really rude, shouldnt be working there at all.
Arrived at 7.30 AM No fresh fruit and vegetables or meat.
Maybe employee some night fillers during this time or have staff come in early to replenish shelves.
I walked up to IGA at Newtown where I found a fully stocked meat section, fully stocked toilet roll aisle and an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Don't waste your time at Woolworths during this crisis. (Woolworths get your sh*t together and order more stock and fill your shelves and stop creating hysteria and the perception of "product shortages"
Ok this is such e. Like “we r fresh food people” NO URE NOT GO TO KFC AND U WILL FIND FRESHER CHICKEN THERE
Now that it’s winter the staff just hang around the front door smoking ciggies so they don’t get too cold. Great for them. Not so great if you want to shop there. It stinks
Some prices are higher here than listed on the Woolworths website.
Apparently those prices are for online shopping only, despite this not being mentioned. Woolworths say they have no requirement to explain this, or to charge consistent prices.
The website shows stock locations directly below the price (see photo), but this is not an indication of the price in those stores. (They charge $5.25 in store)
Just when the stock situation was starting to return to normal after months of shortages, they’ve decided to activate the scales on the self-checkouts with such sensitivity that it’s impossible to do a simple shop without something going wrong and having to wait for assistance. This Woolies is a catastrophe at this point: in the space of a year it’s gone from being the best supermarket in the area to the worst.
Lack of stock in the weekly catalogue
The store needs at least has stock when opens in the early morning.
Pretty bad store, has labels on things that are cheaper than they scan at the register. Has always been dodgy and despite so many bad reviews nothing dramatic has changed.
The stock situation at this Woolies has slightly improved, but I would suggest that people stay away if they can: there’s very heavy traffic here and a lot of shoppers behave very irresponsibly making social distancing while shopping impossible.
