Wollongong Art Gallery reviews
41If you live around Wollongong, I totally recommend this place, just drop by and spend an hour or two. It is lovely, you learn alot on Aboriginal Art. It's also free entry but you can leave a donation. I enjoyed my visit
This was a very light and airy space, love the inclusion of children's art and the choir voices when we were there.
Very nice place.lot of beautiful arts there.
Very nice.
And no wait no tickets.
I stayed in Wollongong whilst on a work visit near by and on my last day I had some time to pass so decided to explore the area and I am glad I did because I found the art gallery. Coming from the U. K, my knowledge of aboriginal art and culture is very limited, so I was pleasantly surprised to find an exhibition of aboriginal artwork during my visit. I'm immediately taken back by the beauty and stories of the art and what they tell and represent. The colours and imagery are stunning. The gallery was great and I bought an art print, which has now been framed and hung proudly at home. It has also started an interest in discovering and researching the history of the aboriginal people.
If you're in Wollongong I very much recommend you visit. It's free entry, but please buy a catalogue if you can as everything goes back into the gallery.
I attended with a group, we had a guided tour plus a behind the scene glimpse. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.
The available presentations were intriguing and gave plenty of food to consider our place and action in Australia today.
The presentation on the plight of the Port Kembla indigenous communities in the 1960s was both heartbreaking and strengthening.
4 levels with wheel chair access Beautiful works and education about the local first people's.
No photos allowed.
Lovely, quirky, relaxed space with friendly and helpful staff. You can take your time and take in an eclectic collection of work and history. The thinking through pink exhibition is thought provoking and beautiful.
Such a lovely gallery, the staff are friendly and the whole place was clean. Such a nice way to spend an hour or two
The Wollongong Art gallery is a free activity with some interesting exhibits, free tours and an interesting building in its own right ro spend an hour in. The staff are also very friendly helpful.
Isn't the art down back beautiful, only went in out of rain two mths ago, they were nice and inviting even got paper towels to dry with, Although on beautifully hand made art pieces were very mesmerising,
Drift through the contemporary watercolour exhibition, Flow, and then take in the works on Wollongong from the 1880s to now. They’re a fascinating look at life before occupation. This regional gallery continues to show bold and wondrous works. And chase down a hot chocolate after the show in the Mall.
The museum is free to visit and very comfortable atmosphere. The staffs are nice and dont remember there are small showing rooms as well, which is a bit harder to find.
A new and popular Italian 'ristorante' in Unanderra. Booking was essential and we had to wait for an eight o'clock sitting. The service and meal were excellent in a full house
Had a great afternoon here on a Sunday. Went to see Saxon Reynolds excellent exhibition and then spent another hour or two having a good look round at the he other exhibitions. The ladies a the front desk were extremely helpful too.
Wonderful Blooming Art exhibition & the incredible work of Saxon Ryan. The Staff are always interested and will help out as much as possible! Great little gallery
One of medium size Gallery with lots of photos about local women's community and few creative exhibits. Free entrance
Always interesting exibitionss to view never overcrowded great staff and sometimes interesting talks on certain exhibits
A rather small art gallery but good to have in a relatively cultureless city like Wollongong.
There are some pretty cool events here from time to time and they maintain the quality of the interior to a high standard.
Here for Comic Gong 2019. Town Hall always puts on an awesome display! Definitely worth visiting.
