Western Plains Cultural Centre reviews
38Great free museum, interesting photographic exhibition, and the Archibald 2022 were all on. The cafe is good too, albeit pretty busy so finding a seat might yield a hiccup or two. But worth stopping by for sure.
Nicely done, but could be dimly lit in parts. Some great stories, the curators have clearly done their homework.
Great facilities, cafe and exhibitions. Also has a few Ev chargers in the car park and plenty of space for the kids to play in the park nearby.
Fantastic place to visit, whether local or tourist. With a variety of exhibits, there is something for everyone. I particularly enjoy local content, especially Indigenous pieces. The museum section is a fascinating history lesson of Dubbo and surrounds. Also, try out the fabulous cafe. Well worth it.
Excellent place to come and learn about the incredible and surprisingly multicultural history of Dubbo. Great cafe too!
The stories accompanying the exhibits are excellent and provide context for the whole town.
We were lucky to also see the exhibition of photos from the Australian Museum, which were wonderful
I was surprised how much I liked the Cultural Centre and would definitely go back again to see new exhibits. The cafe was modern and well attended. I thoroughly enjoyed my time visiting. The staff were very helpful.
Everything is beautifully presented and rich in detail. An amazing, varied experience! I loved it
Lots of interesting information about local residents from times gone by as well as a 50s class room. There also had a good art exhibition. And, a good cafe!
Sadly disappointed. Went on advice from Information Centre as the only place to see local Aboriginal cultural items. Two very small cases with little to no real information. Surely 60,000 years of history could be better represented than that! Very sad to see so many white Australian items (less than 200 years old) and such poor representation of the prior history.
Attended for the Anzac Day brekkie and talk.
Informative session, brekkie was a huge - and delicious - bacon and egg roll.
There is a free entry exhibition that changes regularly, and a paid entry exhibit that changes more often.
Absolutely fantastic! The new management makes all the difference. Well priced, well placed, delicious food and friendly staff. Try the burrito bowl with haloumi, you won't regret it! I'll definitely go back.
A great cultural place showcasing the history of Dubbo. I loved the old steam engine, large carts & machinery, photos of the what the the tow looked like ans yhe 1950s classroom. There's a nice cafe in there too! Staff were very friendly.
Fabulous fresh breakfast and coffee, at the Creo cafe today.
The outdoor area is a wonderful place to sit. We then wandered through the Animal studies exhibition by Jack Randell which was excellent. The simplicity and sense of movement in each work was amazing
A peaceful environment, good coffee and both the gallery and museum offer a relaxed and interesting atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed the Jack Randel exhibition.
Great facility, friendly staff and a great cafe with out door seating. Tesla Supercharger and NRMA fast charger 100m next to centre
The perfect place for locals and visitors alike. Our young girls (6+3) love looking at the latest exhibition, museum and especially role playing in the restored classroom. On a sunny day, the cafe has a lovely patch of grass for the kids to play with good food and a great coffee. It can get a bit busy on a Thursday but it's worth the wait!
Very impressed with the museum and cultural centre. Staff were excellent. Classroom bought back memories of my school days.
Seeing is believing so next time in town don't miss the WESTERN PLAINS CULTURAL CENTRE. While you are there enjoy the wonderful coffee and variety of delicious food. A TOTAL EXPERIANCE YOU WILL NOT FORGET.
