University Health Service reviews
35Nurses and doctors are really nice! The young lady at the front desk acted like I owed her a million bucks, but she was very patient with another boy. She didn't look up at me with a very impatient expression and tone of voice when I am asking a question (a comment from an international student), maybe she just doesn’t like me
Waited 40mins for a simple blood test, and not to mention the pathologist by the name of ‘Gus’ was particularly condescending and rude. For instance, when asked about whether I had drunk any tea or coffee, I said that I did drink coffee by accident and he proceeded to scold me? About how I wasn’t supposed to consume any caffeinated beverages before taking the blood test, but how am I supposed to know of such info especially since when I was booking for the test no staff informed me about this whatsoever?
Asides from that unpleasant experience all else is fine. Just please do something with Gus, he is really ruining the entire experience to the clinic. And I’m trying to be as objective as possible here too.
Wait times can be a little long, and they’re often really busy, but the self service check-in and appointment app (HotDoc) makes things easy. Practitioners are really lovely, especially the pathologists. It’s super useful to have a GP, full team of nurses, and a pathologist all in the same place. Receptionists email me my documents and test results as well as forward paperwork, scans etc.on to the doctor for me, which is cool. And they fully bulk bill for students with Medicare!
Both the receptionists and GPs are extremely caring and lovely. Thanks for your service!
Just a correction that out of all the doctors I had an appointment with, Dr. Crystal is one of the most attentive and caring one. I recommend booking with her. She really does make patients feel cared for and listened to.
Staff at front desk are rude and have no empathy, ask all the wrong questions when serving patients and don’t even greet you. Seems like they don’t have any customer service experience.
Worst experience ever!
Had an appointment at 8: 30 am and they made me wait till 9: 15 am. Then they asked me to come at 2 pm noon, since they are facing some IT related issues.
I just called for the first time to understand GP price and service, but receptionist had absolutely no idea and keep saying I am not the doctor and rude too.
The doctors and practitioners are great. They're all friendly and helpful. The receptionists and customer service of this place makes the whole rating of this place suffer. Their attitude is unhelpful, the wait times are too long. I went there in agonising pain and I was met with people that sent me to wait for 40 minutes which turned into over an hour. Not the best experience.
I shared the same experience with the pathologist. His attitude is condescending and very rude. It is just an eye opener
I have a generally good experience with the doctors, while the appointment system is very bad and slow.
Horrible customer service (both in person and on the phone). I call them and they pick up to tell me we will put you on hold before even getting to say hello and they keep me on hold for several minutes. This has happened multiple and multiple times. Vey slow on running things. They only know how to run one thing at a time. Amateur levels, no where near professional. On the bright side though doctors are super nice and friendly and know their job. Theyre the reason why i put 2 stars, else I wouldve put 0 if I could
My visit experiences here have varied greatly. Sometimes they're great and efficient. Other times, slow and poor service.
I don’t often give poor reviews but I think this is warranted. The practitioners and services are excellent, but receptionist team have really poor customer service. Wait times are long, none seem enthused or willing to help. For a UNSW service they should really do better for students.
If I could give a 0 I would. I’ve always had terrible customer service here. No compassion and clearly no idea how to run a student health service. Today I called for an appointment and was asked, am I sick? No, I just want to have beers with the doctors…of course I’m sick why would I be calling a health service for an appointment with a doctor? I was calling for an urgent appointment. When I asked if they offered walk ins, they said no…not for “that”. Cool…sorry I don’t have the correct medical condition. My father runs a health service at another group of 8 University and it is so blatantly clear to me that this health service needs a complete overhaul. Clearly not run with any effective management. If you need his consulting services (you clearly do), hit me up.
It takes way to long to just see any appointment. Online system is so slow that a person with poor health condition could be in danger till they get to appointments tab. Poor service backup.
The one plus of studying a JD (law) at UNSW was that I got a Pfizer invite. I almost forgive your hideous trimesters and arrogant, student hating law school staff. Vax was delivered professionally - and no problems changing appointment for dose 2.
The pathologist was unnecessarily rude to me and ruined my whole day. Staff didn’t give me clear instructions that I needed to knock when they told me to go in and the pathologist caused a scene in front of everyone and asked “so you need someone to tell you how to knock? ” I had said sorry multiple times and tried to be polite, and also did not step a foot in his room (and it was already open in the first place. All I did was push the door a bit to see if anyone was there). But he proceeded to roll his eyes while I was getting my prescription.
I only go here because I like one of the doctors and for convenience.
Doctors are great. Very thorough and take the time to understand and investigate your issue. This does mean they tend to run late quite frequently though. My advice: get the 1st or 2nd appointment of the day.
Don’t know why so many poor reviews. I’ve been there for more than 2 years and always be treated properly and nicely. Strongly recommend Dr Alison, she is professional and great, alway patient and caring for patient.
On March 23, at 12: 15 pm UNSW I went to the clinic, where after forty minutes of waiting, I protested their unprofessional behavior. This is how Rana, as the head of nursing, answered me
