We recently used Turrell Building Services for a complete renovation and extension to our outdoor entertaining area. Neil's vision from the start of what could be achieved and his advice on creating a beautiful outdoor space/room, with a fabulous kitchen for our house was fantastic. We had confidence from the very beginning that the job would be done right.
The teams attention to detail and care factor about our job being done correctly was excellent and every step of the way was communicated to us. We are thrilled with the end result.

My wife and I first met Neil around 2013 when we were looking at renovating an outside entertaining area for our home we moved into 12 months prior. Turrells was the third (and final) company we consulted for this project. The reasons we choose Turrells were as follows:

Instead of quoting for a standard "bolt on" addition that the previous companies suggested,

1. Neil was able to provide concepts and ideas which actually went beyond what we had initially conceived, and was able to suggest ways to seamlessly integrate the renovation into the existing home structure. The final result was such spectacular, and felt like a true part of the overall home.

2. The quality and detail of the initial plans that Neil had drawn up showed that they had not only listened to our wishes, but had also made suggestions which we would not have considered ourselves, but which made the project that much better.

3. Our assigned project manager Josh Brown was a pleasure to work with. Totally professional in all aspects, as well as being friendly and a great listener. One thing that stands out was his suggestion to make an alteration to some of the materials in the original plan as he felt it would improve the project. This suggestion was not only spot on in hindsight, but actually REDUCED the cost of the renovation!

Since that first project we have used Turrells twice more (complete downstairs reno, and front yard landscaping project), and have been extremely happy with both. We have recommended Turrells to several people who have been considering renovations, and would have no hesitation in continuing to do so in future.

Neil and the team were terrific to deal with. We wanted to extend the outdoor living area and the Turrell team had wonderful ideas. They took the time to understand how we lived and then created a design that transformed our outdoor area into a stunning space for entertainment and relaxing. The team were very professional, always keeping us informed and were thorough in all aspects of the job - including cleaning up. Building from scratch and choosing a builder we felt we could trust was a daunting experience for my husband and I.

We wanted to renovate our house and build a separate studio to resemble an old French barn.

For the past 5 years I had been collecting old French shutters and antique doors to help create the ambience of an old barn and I needed a builder who knew where to find the tradesmen to replicate the missing hardware and to build other bespoke elements. I also required a builder who had high standards of workmanship.

Having lived in The Hills for over 30 years, I had heard of a few reputable builders, however, I felt Turrell Building Services were the only company who would truly understand what I was trying to achieve and be capable of stepping outside the box.

So we took the chance and hired them.

From the very first consultation to working through the project, it was such a relief to feel we had absolutely made the right decision in choosing them. They actually listened to what I wanted to achieve and that was a quality that was very important to me.

Neil has a knack of employing the right people in every aspect of running his business from the office staff to the tradesmen who are turning our dream into a reality. Whatever I design, they can build it.

Troy, the Construction Manager, is across a range of jobs yet he makes me feel as if my job is the only one that's important. I don't know how he juggles so many jobs at once but he makes it all look so easy. He's incredible competent and someone you would want overseeing your build. Budget wise, he's totally on top of it and will save money where he can without compromising on quality.

Ritchie is my Project Manager and again I feel so lucky to have him running the build. Nothing is too much trouble. He's a very skilled carpenter amongst other things and he has kept the build on schedule.

His knowledge, especially with the different types of timber, has been invaluable and his teaching skills and patience are giving the company some well trained young apprentices - Lachlan is a credit to him.

From start to almost finish, the 13 month build has been a positive and happy experience. The site is always kept as clean as possible as they respect that it is our home.

We will start phase 2 of the house renovations in a couple of years and will be employing Turrell's again.

We have been renovating our home in stages and were impressed with Neil from the first time we met. He listened to our ideas and provided advice and alternatives which helped to cement an approach. I have always felt that he and Josh were designing for us with the same enthusiasm and care that they would for themselves. They helped us to prioritise our renovations into effective stages and they have renovated three sections of our house already. We are excited that the final stage will start soon. Since the first experience we have never considered using anyone else! All contractors have been fantastic and we have been really impressed with their quality, professionalism and communication. Renovating a house that is still being lived in by a family is a challenge and Josh has been wonderful in reducing the impacts. I highly recommend Turrell's.

In my initial meeting with Neil I was impressed by not only his honesty, professionalism and industry experience but how he knew how important it was for me to build my dream home within budget! Neil is passionate about his work and I really appreciated his open communication and feedback, always putting us first and making sure we were happy every step of the way.

With the guidance of Turrell's Interior Designer Sharon, she made the colour selection process and all those decisions so much easier to make and I am really grateful that I was given the opportunity to have her services throughout the building process.

The construction phase was flawless, our Construction Manager Josh was outstanding and his attention to detail and communication through the build was excellent. Josh and his team hold themselves to a very high standard of workmanship and honestly treated the build of my house like it was their own.

We have had a wonderful experience building with Turrell. At every step of the way we have felt so comfortable that we made the right choice. Neil and his team persevered with Council when we had been told by others there was no hope. They listened to our ideas in the design phase and we are just thrilled with the quality of the build and the end result. All renovations come with some bumps in the road and ours was no exception but Turrell communicated well, addressed the issues and did their best to keep it all on track. We have truly achieved our dream home and thoroughly enjoyed the process. We would not hesitate to use them again, in fact they are the only builder we would consider for future projects.
