Top Point Cafe reviews
66We had to wait a while for the meals to come out for lunch. The barramundi and salmon were over cooked and both swimming in a sea of salsa or soy sauce.
Absolutly love this place. Always dine outside, just to enjoy the gardens. Its near empty on a Tuesday afternoon so lunch and a walk around the gardens afterwards is fantastic when you just need to destress for a little while.
Food was disgusting - way too much mustard on the burger and chicken was dry. Ragu tasted like a tinned sauce with dry meat. Even the vodka and soda was in a dirty cup that my wife couldn’t drink. Only given 1 star because I can’t give none. Worst meal for a long time.
We have visited and enjoyed Gosford Art Gallery and Edogawa Japanese Gardens on many occasions. On a warm day we decided to linger in air conditioned comfort over brunch in Top Point Cafe. A great decision. The ambience was relaxing, the staff attentive, the menu appealing, service swift and the food delicious. A lovely outlook over the gardens complimented our meal. Highly recommended after touring the latest gallery display. A stroll through Edogawa after your meal is a great constitutional. Do all three soon.
Paid more than what the menu indicated, despite bringing this up with Management we got told "that's what the machine said". Despite the menu clearly indicating otherwise, regardless it was overpriced and management confidently got our order incorrect
Visited on the weekend - service was slow, clearly understaffed. We ordered before large group sitting next to us but their food and drinks came out before ours did.waited 25 minutes for coffee.probably wouldn’t return. Japanese gardens were magnificent
Coffee & Cake for morning tea.
How hard would that be to bring the 2 coffees together instead of the biscuit first then 1 coffee. Then eventually we got the coffee to go with the first cake and then the second cake, then the other coffee.
WHO IS TRAINING THE STAFF?
Best food we’ve had out in a really long time and great prices, staff were lovely! We came for lunch one day and breaky the next and will return again tomorrow.we are THAT happy with service and quality, freshness and tastiness of food! Great menu with plenty of options.
Also delicious coffee. Highly recommend!
Four of us booked and when we arrived noted a busy cafe. A waitress took our order and when we enquired an hour later, were told that the waitress had not placed the order with the kitchen! Extremely poor service.
I would not go to this cafe especially when they are busy!
Peaceful location, lovely friendly staff, good coffee and delicious food. The Mediterranean was really yummy.
Barramundi pie was so delicious, a must visit this place and also experience some fine art and and wonderful outdoor stroll through a Japanese garden
This is one of the nices restaurants in Gosford. The food is delicious, staff are very friendly and professional, and the gallery and Japanese garden next to it is beautiful
Today we had lunch at this beautiful location. What a great spot.
Upon arrival we had to wait nearly 15 minutes to be seated at our pre booked table as there was only one queue for ordering takeaway etc and paying bills. It then took nearly 45 minutes before someone came to even take our drinks order. A table next to us left as i presume that they were fed up with waiting for service. An hour and a half after arrival we had to gain the attention of a staff member to enquire about our drinks. She was most apologetic but wanted to argue about why they were taking so long. I absolutely sympathize that they were short staffed due to staff sickness and no shows but a 3 hour lunch for fish and chips was a bit extreme. We felt that customers coming in for takeaway drinks and food were given priority over the seated customers. On saying that most staff were lovely (and rushed off of their feet) and the food when it did arrive was really good. Sad to say that we will be reluctant to come back.
The food was good but the service was ordinary, the lady waitress very rude and not suitable to work in restaurants, she forgot to pass our order to the kitchen and after waiting for an hour we had to ask why the delay, her answer was (I don't know I don't work in the kitchen) instead of coming and checking or even looking at us. Very disappointed.
Food and service is always very good. We have GF in our family and friends and this cafe caters very well for GF options.
Was told it would be a 40 minute wait for food, we said no problemo. Little did we know they had no interest in taking our order at all. Waited 40 minutes, asked several times if we could order, they never took our order. Decided to just walk out.
One star.
Food was decent. However, the service was quite slow waited more than 45 mins for our lunch to arrive.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The place was not busy at all yet we were seated and waited and waited yet no one could be bothered to come and take our order. When we finally got up to ask the waitress who was to busy texting on her phone to take our order we were waved away and she continued texting for another 2 minutes and then proceeded to chastise us, whilst taking our order, for trying to order lunch 10 mins before the designate start time even though we clearly said that we were here for lunch when asked to be seated. She proceeded to blame her colleague and asked if we wanted to leave. Which we kindly obliged as clearly hospitality is something not too important to this business. With other business struggling to make ends meet during Covid, my advice would be to take you hard earned money elsewhere and support a local business that wants you there. No business who behaves like this deserves your time or money. Such a pity as the gallery and japanese garden were lovely.
I had the avo smash, not great, was warm and cold and tasted funny, not great, coffee was bought out ten minutes after our food and we had to ask for it as it had been forgotten and it was cool by the time it got too us. Table layout was strange. Staff not that friendly. Good location. Water
Cups had a funny smell and texture, do not like the coca-cola jug for water, very off putting.
Not enough staff, took way to long to take our order so we walked out. We've been several times and have to be prepared to wait for service and lunch
