Top Door

Top door are the worst company I've worked with in over 20 years of working in the design and build industry. We ordered a number of various windows and were initially told leadtime would be 6 to 8 weeks. We signed off on shop drawings in July 2022 but the complete order was only finally completed in October 2023, some 16 months later! In that time we must've heard every excuse imaginable. Windows simply went missing, wrong parts were sent and Quality was average at best. I don't know how this Company is still in business. Even my builder and architect said they had never seen anything like it!

I have done numerous renovations and worked with a number of tradies. TopDoor is without doubt the most dishonest, unethical business I have ever worked with.

I paid a 60% deposit and for TWELVE MONTHS was told that the windows were "four weeks away". TopDoor accepted the order when they did not have the timber.

EIGHT MONTHS after I paid, they had not even commenced production, and they offered Oak instead of Western Red Cedar. When I said I would prefer a refund (given they could not provide what I asked for), "Pandora" simply refused to return the deposit I had paid (in the tens of thousands).

Pandora is a liar, she always claimed that the delays were due to me changing the order which is completely false (which is very obvious given they did not have the timber).

I know she will write some rubbish about how it isn't their fault, however if you are spending thousand on windows maybe ask yourself if it is worth the risk.

Pandora also continuously tried to de-scope my order, removing items I had paid for (without reducing the price of course). In the end they delivered a bunch of windows and doors of low quality which didn't fit, in a timber I didn't order, and there were $1,000 worth of products missing (which I was partially reimbursed for over a period of six months). I reported TopDoor to NSW Fair Trading, however "Pandora" even refused to speak to them, indicating a complete lack of respect for the law.

I reiterate - TopDoor are most dishonest, business I have ever dealt with in any capacity. Do not risk it.

We ordered our custom made front door from here and we are so happy they got installed in time for Easter. Highly recommended.

Place an order for a one cedar front door.
50 % Deposit was issued immediately, was advised it would take between 2 to 3 weeks.
4 months later door not received, plenty of fabricated excuses, as to why I had not received the door.
In the meantime we had plywood, securing the front entrance for 4 to 5 months while we were waiting for the front door.
Ask for my deposit back, a lady called Pandora refused.
Took the matter to NCAT and ANZ Bank as Goods NOT RECEIVED.
ANZ refunded the money after investigating, prior to an NCAT hearing.
Fortunately Australian Consumer Law protects consumers from certain unfair behaviour by businesses.
Simple a business that cannot deliver the goods in a timely manner, should not be taking deposits.
No doubt Pandora will respond with more fabrications.

It was an wonderful experience for us dealing with top door, we have received our order on time, the bifold doors and windows are just customised as we wanted to, the lady in the office at petersham is very professional and exactly know the client needs. She gave comfort and assured us about our order to be delivered on time and it was just happen as she said I wish I could give more than 5 stars

I am the carpenter who did the work.
The delay you experienced was predominantly self inflicted as you pushed the installation date twice and then insisted on a date which we delivered within a few days.in regards to the issues you had with the beading falling short and other so-called issues, you never brought that up with me while you inspected the finished product instead praising me for a job well done.the holes in the door jamb are impossible not to have as you need to fix this off.as you did mention this to me i explained that it would be plugged with a piece of timber and puttied to conceal it as best as possible.
The only thing you would need to do is sand it prior to painting which you were happy with.
You showed no real issues while I was there but only really started to complain after receiving the invoice which after accepting my very competitive quote started to ask for discounts and asking if I would "do it cheaper for cash" as I rejected any cash payments.you then continued to make the extremely minor issues a problem and said that you will "pay me what you think the job is worth".
You then rejected my proposal to come rectify the issues.
It was then obvious to me that you were only trying to gain money and you were not really concerned with the so called issues.
Anyone looking at the close up pictures you posted would realize you don't have a case.

I would not recommend Top Doors nor its preferred door installer for the following reasons:

1. Really poor communications between these two - I paid a 60% deposit in May for $10000 worth of doors, and had repeatedly asked for installation in October to line up with other renovation works at my house, but after many weeks of chasing of both Top Door and Sydney City Renovations (their recommended door installer), they only managed to get the doors installed in late Nov. All sorts of reasons, covid meaning noone was at work to open the doors for door pickup (a whole factory in October?), joiner with tummy issues, cratched glass last minute, my fault for asking the installation to be done in October causing the delay to late Nov?). They are very poor at keeping each other and the customer updated without alot of chasing.

2. Door installation was really poor workmanship. Don't be misled by the photos Top Door shows you of the installer work, as you can't see the details. I have had 2 other carpenters and 1 painter look at what was installed and they noted really poor work in a number of areas, which I am having fixed. For nearly $4000 to install, the installer didn't believe his work was poor quality and that is the bigger concern. See photos for details - architrave stopped short of floor, large holes left in the beautiful wood that no painter can hide, door jamb done so messily it was a hack on the wood basically. He will blame the customer ('too picky'), Top Door ('they cut the wood incorrectly'), or other tradespeople ('they have something against me').

2% of my renovation cost, 99% of the stress.you decide based on the photos whether you're willing to accept this for almost $14000 in cost (doors and installation).

Addition after Top Door response: similar to others who have rated you 1 star, I won't try to correct your 'facts' below. My experience has been that your company comes up with so many excuses over time it just became incredulous. I will respond on one point however - the phone was on speaker when my tiler spoke with you and Antonio - if anything we were just frustrated by the continued excuses and delays after us chasing you down. There is no 'women' issue, or 'name calling' issue. My other tradespeople and suppliers over the last 5mths has been stellar - no excuses, they go all out to fix any issues without the constant chasing. My one regret was really not reading the 1 star reviews before committing - having now read these there are so many common issues and experiences. Any prospective customer should always sort for the 1 star reviews and consider carefully.

We had a variety of windows and doors done at Top Door and are very happy with the products and they have made a huge improvement to our home. Pandora is a delight to deal with and communicates and sets expectations along the way of the process and delivery time frames. We would most certainly use again when we are ready to replace the final windows in our home, both for the quality of the work and for the great service Pandora has provided throughout.

We have paid Pandora a total of $30,000+ on all the windows and balcony doors in our 2-story house.

This is the most excruciating business we have ever dealt with.

First of all, she takes almost 50% deposit and promises the products within 4-6 weeks. Our first story windows/doors were delivered in HALF a year from the time we gave her deposit. Our second story windows/doors, she took 8 MONTHS.

Secondly, Pandora promised a complete set, and then she demanded an even extra $1500 for something she said will be free. We were left with windows that could not be installed.

Thirdly, she offers absolutely no warranty on her products. Please be aware. One of our balcony doors had faulty glass that cracked and she insisted a bird flew into our window and cracked it. What a joke.

Do not waste your time, literally. You will spend a lot of money, likely endure the worst customer experience of your life, and wait more than half a year on a woman that takes your money and treats you are not a person.

Edit: Dear Top Door, my review is not misleading, your response is. I would not waste time reviewing your business unless I was blown away by amazing customer experience, or in this case - the exact opposite. Feel free to check my other contributions if validation is needed. Good luck.

I cannot highly recommend Top Door enough; their service was absolutely professional, clear and concise. From start to end, everything was double/triple checked and confirmed twice as per my needs and accommodated my requests, they kept me updated and informed and tried to explain and provide an answer to any question I had from material to quality, fittings and professional opinion and feedback.
Definitely will be going back for future projects.

We dealt with another company who decided to use Top Door as the supplier/manufacturer of the products. The order placed almost 9 months ago has still not been delivered and today we have cancelled and had the deposit refunded.
If you are happy to wait indefinitely and not be clearly informed what is happening with your order then use this company.
