The Second Home Cafe reviews
54 Good size, staff were a bit rushed and unatentive. Food was pretty well sized, if not a little pricey. Coffee was not great, as we discussed with the staff.
I would however give them another try.
It was a nice spot to have a coffee break. As its name we felt like our second home. Thanks guys with pretty cookies and friendly atmosphere. Cheers
Second time visiting and this place is amazing. It is a great cafe from a food and service perspective. Arrived a few minutes before the kitchen closed and mid cleaning. No annoying customer vibes, food was great and genuine care about us enjoying our meal. Highly recommend.
Didn't feel like a second home. The young man who served me and made my fresh juice (juice is fresh and amazing!) But I feel very uncomfortable! And he didn't even greet me? What has happened to customer service?
The staff were amazingly helpful, very friendly and honestly made me feel pretty much at home. What mucked the experience was the terrible food. I had the middle Eastern platter with cheese. The kofta was probably left outside of fridge for ages because right after I ate within one hour I started vomiting and it's been about 6 hours I still have the worst stomach cramp. We went for treetop adventure and ended up puking on an innocent child on the easier track below me. I honestly can't understand why general food and safety was not maintained.
I snuck into this place, not on purpose, but I was quiet. The barista said that I startled him and he didn't hear me come in. "That's because I'm a ninja" I retort. It got a little awkward after that. But I love the coffee, one day I'll go back. I need to buy corduroy pants though. Announce my entry.
Had a cappuccino, tea and scone. It was OK. Scone was a bit stale but otherwise a decent coffee and a decent scone for the price. I would come back.
Great little spot. Nice coffee, efficient and friendly staff, reasonably priced, good quality food & variety of choices. Good stop for a coffee on the go & if you have time go out the back in the sunny (doggie friendly) seating area & have a bite. Love the fresh juices!
Signed in and was offered a seat near heater outside which was great. Our coffee was very good and the food ordered was nice and hot, we will ho back for lunch soon as the menu looked inviting. This was our first experience with this Cafe and it was very pleasant.
Lovely Cafe, with a great outdoor area. We had brunch and the menu was amazing. Great service, juice and coffees were flavoursome and the breakfasts were large.
Good food
Good coffee
Good service
Nice outdoor space
Always busy but seems to always have a table
Nice presentable cafe. Has an outdoor / backyard setting.
Food was yummy, wasn't too expensive and customer service was good. The only thing I didn't like was the pigeons hanging on top of your table watching and ready to jump on your toast
Great cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, serving up Campos coffee, which I like if your not after a strong coffee. Located along the main street of Richmond on Windsor street, plenty of parking on street and surrounds. No rush service either. I will be visiting this place again and to try the food, keep you informed ;)
A great little cafe in the Richmond town centre. The service is warm and welcoming and as efficient as things get. The real star though, is their coffee and their breakfast. I had their 'Breakfast Hash' and it would rank as one of the best breakfast dishes I have ever had. Amazing.
Amazing little cafe tucked away in Richmond. Good food. Courteous and Friendly staff. Perfect ambience for a Sunday brunch.
Great food and good value. Service from one waitress was poor, otherwise I would rate it 5 stars.
Cafe that was a very good place to go, now has rude staff and very poor customer service, surely can’t be hard to provide hot food or at least not be a problem to replace when is arrives cold.
Brunch date with my wife. Food was great, I had the breakfast hash, which included chorizzo and potato in hollandaise sauce. We were suitably impressed, and will be back in the future to take more of this menu.
Great cafe, but could you please change the door from sliding to opening inwards for the nervous first time daters who can’t work it out? Cheers
Great cafe with a very good menu, lovely staff & a cosy outdoor area. I had the Mediterranean plate which was delicious & filling. I’m keen to go back & try more dishes. Also the bathroom is very nice & very clean.
