The Property Inspectors

They provided a completely inadequate pre-purchase strata report for a unit. Its a tick the box exercise in the worst way. They missed details within the pages they had access to produce the report. The failed to identify large areas of risk. It is the laziest strata report I have ever seen.

I note some adverse comments about TPI. This certainly wasn't my experience with them. We encountered catastrophic storm damage last December. We lodged our claim with our insurer. It was declined on the basis their engineer found timber rot & rust within the structure. Suffice it to say it was an utter lie. My wife found TPI on the web. Emilio from TPI examined our damage. An opposing report was provided. After going through 5-6 appeals and experiencing some resistance from our insurer the claim was approved. Even the insurers engineer never refuted our repor…. Odd? !? ! Thanks again TPI & Emilio

Seamless experience - would recommend! We had a straightforward booking process through Before You Bid and the report was available to us within a week of booking. We were then able to discuss the results over the phone with Emilio, who handled our report. He was very patient, thorough and kind in responding to our questions, and we felt we were able to make a more confident decision based on his insight.

Money well spent!
Dane did a property inspection at very short notice pre auction. The report was essential in how we approached the auction and with the negotiations post auction. The 32 page report was detailed and highlighted many things we would not have see with our own inspection and largely informed how much we were prepared to pay for the property with an unconditional offer. I have dealt with TPI on multiple occasions in the last 12 months and found the reports to be thorough and produced efficiently. Our most recent experience had a few hiccups primarily due to changes required to an original report post renovation of the property. In the end we received a very comprehensive report which I believe helped during the sale process. Once all parties understood the changes that were required, the actions were completed to a high standard. Great customer service from the Inspector and appreciated the support from the TPI team following our experience.

I would caution anyone from using The Property Inspectors. Very unethical business conduct. From my experience it appears they intentionally left their initial inspection incomplete so that they could charge for a second inspection.

I purchased their report through Before You Bid as an interested buyer. The report was incomplete - roof void and subfloor not inspected. Their reason was not able to access the areas. I contacted The Property Inspectors to book inspection of roof void and sub floor not completed and they charged me $730 on top of what I would have to pay for the report through Before You Bid as a successful buyer. I spoke to a few other inspection companies and all said the second charge didn't seem right. I also found out that the vendor was at home for the entire duration of the inspection and the inspector never asked about access to the roof void and subfloor. The vendor also said the inspector only took 10 minutes to inspect the property, which has 6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living, 2 dinning, 2 deck/balcony, a laundry and a 6 level tiered garden. I made a complaint to Before You Bid and they said The Property Inspectors' business conduct was in breach of their code of conduct. I ended up booking an inspection with another company and Before you Bid said that they would instruct The Property Inspectors to provide a refund for the $730. I am currently waiting for the refund.

As a prospective buyer I could not be happier with the information I received relating to the property. I followed up the report with questions and Emillio was only too happy to oblige with a phone call, he took time to explain (in layman's terms) and gave some great 'thought provoking' insights. I first came across The Property Inspectors when purchasing their Building & Pest Inspection report for a house we were considering. This had been commissioned by the vendor and was already available online.

The level of detail contained was much higher compared to reports I had seen from alternative Inspection companies for other properties. A number of defects were called out that I had not noticed when walking through the property. In addition, when Emilio was contacted for further information on a few points he provided comprehensive explanations based on his experience as a builder.
