I came here with my family on the weekend for high tea, and we had a lovely time. The staff are so attentive and polite, and especially helpful with allergies. The food was nice, and presented beautifully.

Adequate. But not outstanding. Certainly not as good as the buffet used to be and not what is implied on the website. Scones doughy, champagne jelly almost inedible, sandwiches sub par. Not a total write off but we won't be back.

I took my mother to this high tea for a Xmas treat. She’d been the previous year with friends and said it was amazing. We were quite disappointed with the experience. When I rang to book I was told that the bubbles package included Chardonnay but when we arrived we were told it definitely did not. This was very annoying as my mother doesn’t really like champagne and was looking forward to a Chardonnay. I’m a huge Lindt hot chocolate lover and was looking forward to the fact that there were 3 different flavours advertised on their official site. But the young male server appeared dumbfounded when I asked him for a Lindt white hot chocolate. He said they ‘only had the powdered stuff’ (his actual words). He didn’t appear too concerned with telling management at this 5 star hotel about this false advertisement because over a month later it is still advertised on their site that Lindt hot chocolate is served. I can get Cadbury powder at any cafe and I expect more from a 5 star establishment where I’m paying over $75pp ($105 for the Chardonnay, no! Bubbles actually). We happened to turn up over 20 minutes too early and were seated but only after much deliberation by the same unenthusiastic young man who informed me that I could only get ‘the powdered stuff’. He told us to sit and wait until we were told it was being opened up, but nobody came to inform us that we could now go to the buffet. At 12: 25 we managed to grab him and ask if we could eat and he looked confused and said ‘yes, it opened at 12’. I don’t think he knew what was going on and had zero customer service skills. I’d expect better from the Sheraton. I’d get better at McDonald’s tbh. The women across from us seemed to have a much better experience and were taken through the menu and kept up to date with what was going on. The boy we had was nervous and really ruined our 5 star experience. Not happy when I’ve paid over $200 for some powdered hot chocolate and stale sandwiches and scones. Unfortunately the sandwiches and scones were stale because they’d put them out too early. These items go stale so quickly and you’d think a 5 star would be on to this. I did manage to get a fresh scone after about half an hour and they were much better. The cakes were okay but unfortunately a lot of the buffet is just there for decoration. A lot of glass canisters full of jelly lollies and cookies which I’m not going to eat at a 5 star buffet. The Sheraton needs to review their advertising and take off the claim of serving Lindt hot chocolate. They also need to be careful what they promise over the phone. If I’d been told it was only champagne in the package and not Chardonnay I wouldn’t have been so annoyed. But when it’s confirmed twice over the phone that the package includes Chardonnay, only to find out that it doesn’t, it adds to the disappointment. The service was terrible, some foods stale and to top it off, the parking station below wouldn’t let us pay and leave. We were visiting someone later on and we were very late. Had to wait in the parking lot until someone bothered to come down for us, which they didn’t. I had to go back upstairs after calling twice and complain until someone finally bothered to do something. If you want a 5 star high tea, don’t go here. Food and service are not anywhere near 5 star. So disappointed.

A five star experience in every sense of the word. Impeccable service. Delightful tea. Interesting and varied food. This time we tried the weekend high tea buffet. All tastes catered for including fresh fruit, a cheese board and for the health conscious various nut/raw sweet bites (I.e. Quinoa salad). The cakes and sweet delights are many and varied and what we tried was interesting and delicious. With views of Hyde park in the background this was a great way to enjoy good company and feel thoroughly spoilt.

An unfortunately disappointing experience. Everything looked fantastic, however, the food tasted bland. The sandwiches were dry and didn't appear to have been changed from the earlier session. The desserts looked wonderful but all tasted the same. A very expensive experience for a special occasion. We tried a few things and put them aside unfinished; ended up leaving early. We have had High Tea all over the world and I have never come across one as flavourless as this. Staff were friendly enough.

Came here for high tea. The food was amazing especially the sandwiches. I hope to come back and enjoy the high tea again soon.

Disappointing. I was taken there for my birthday. Although the displays of food looked amazing the taste of it was quite a different matter.
The bread for the finger sandwiches was cut too thick with not enough filling.
The scones were dry.
The fruit (melons) albeit colourful, were unripe, hard and without flavour.
The various cakes were nice to look at but without finesse and some obviously sitting on the bench too long for they were somewhat dry.
The saving grace were the vegetarian "sausage" rolls with exquisite pastry and the nice young man who was our assigned waiter.
Would I recommend it - absolutely not.
