This is a beautiful, calming place to come when coffee just won't cut it. Such a wide variety of teas, sauces and pots make this whole tea-drinking experience top notch. The owner was friendly and carefully suggested some flavours I might like. I got a top up too, which made my time there all the better.

The ambience is very cozy, and is an ideal place for studying or catching up with friends. The cakes are decent, however quite pricy for their size. The drinks are alright varying on taste, and on the more bitter side.

My favourite tea spot. Literally i go out my way every weekend to chatswood for their cakes and tea selections.

We've been keen to check Tea Journal out after walking past a few times and checking online reviews.

After arriving at the front of the store, we were quite impressed with the unique vibe which the entire place exudes of given the strong focus on tea and even calligraphy.

Whilst waiting to be seated, we ended up chatting to a customer of Tea Journal sitting near the front counter who recommended that we try the Black Tea Rose & Pistachio cake ($15), so we ordered that along with a hot Hojicha latte and Matcha latte (both amended to soy milk).

The overall taste was subtle but not mindblowingly impressive. The cake was presented well, with a moist and fresh cake layer but there was a heavy usage of cream on the outside. As a result, in our opinion it wasn't really worth the $15 price tag.

The drinks were also presented well, but the taste was so-so (which a few other reviews have already noted). Overall, still worth checking this place out if you're a fan of all things tea and want to try something which is guaranteed to be not too heavy on the palate.

I'm extremely disappointed with this establishment. Our first visit at 10: 00 am left us empty-handed as there were no cakes available. We made a second attempt closer to 6: 00 pm, only to be disappointed yet again by the lack of cakes. On our last visit, we were informed that there were no lattes because the frother was broken. Despite their promotion of five different cake varieties, in reality, only one type was available. This whole experience has left me very upset.

Arrogant staff who won’t refill tea and when i took the teapot to the counter then he smugly said “we do table service here”. Well, provide an upmarket service if you want to act all upmarket

Really love this place! The best service and atmosphere here as well as beautiful, quality teas, of course! They have such a broad, fragrant selection! Different to other places around. I highly recommend to those who appreciate quality — particularly if you are a tea connoisseur. I wish they had second a location near my uni so I could soak up the zen when there as well. But I would never want them to leave this location! A great escape from the buzzy ‘city’ sensibility of Chatswood. It’s a go-to for me when I need to reset, introvert, warm up or cool down! So I’m very thankful they’re around! Thanks so much guys! Keep up the great work:)

Beautiful tea place with wide variety of tea selection. I love the classical teas they have available. My husband and I shared a pot of raw pu-er ($20) and it was more and more tasty with each steep. What a lovely surprise hidden at the back of Chatswood interchange. There is a limit of 2 hours per seating, which is good, as I can see it being a place to stay for a long time without restrictions. The only thing is it gets a little chilly, so it is good to wear a scarf!

Really amazing place and the owner/ staff is very kind and being helpful to all customers.
His attention to detail was impeccable he noticed I came with a friend and without asking he served the cake with 2 gold Dessert Forks with 2 serviettes.

The place interiors are amazing, they sell great teapot set and premium teas.

The cake taste fantastic/ delicious and Perfect in texture (light, not heavy or dense/ enough sweetness, perfect for healthy cake options)

As a tea lover I would love to try different teas and this is a great destination for an enjoyable tea experience

One of the best place to sit down and have a chat with friends. They offer a large range of tea to choose from, perfect for any tea lovers. I don’t drink coffee so I hope more place like this will open. Their iced lychee mint oolong is one of my favourite and their rose cake is very unique. A little expensive but the environment and the vibe I think the price is kind of just. Recommending everyone who is around and feel like some tea!

Nice place to sit down and have a chat or study (there are powerpoints in some areas), but the tea was a tad overpriced and bland. Also come earlier if you want to try the cakes!

I always come here for their lattes, you can control the level of sugar, and their matcha and houjicha taste very genuine and not from commercial powder.
Their cakes you must come early for as they are limited, they are very soft and moist with the perfect sweetness. However some of their cakes have been a little disappointing (tiramisu cake)

Quaint tea place with a nice atmosphere. We ordered a matcha and houjicha lattes and their houjicha chocolate cake. Was not disappointed with the taste, unlike some other tea places where the offerings are often too sweet, our drinks and cake tasted majorly of their tea flavours. Would definitely come back someday to have some of their pot teas.

What a unique and tranquil tea bar, new different concept promoting some exquisite speciality tea. There was alot of tea on display and place was set up really well. Beside the assortment of tea the chiffon cakes here is a must order to go with the tea. We had lychee rose cake and it was the bomb, it wasn't sweet beside the actual lychee. The cake was very aromatic with rose scent and paired real well with lychee. The chiffon cake wasn't too heavy, and cake was very moist and fresh. It was a hot day so we order ice lychee tea to cool us off, that drink again wasn't sweet, it was just right. Highly recommend. Cake was so good we had to take away a few more pieces

The black sesame latte was bland and watery. Matcha latte wasn’t strong today, perhaps it was a takeaway. Slices of cake were sold out for the day

Such a lovely place to sit back and relax. Staff also are so friendly and helpful. Was recommended the lychee and rose, and did not regret at all with choosing it. So fluffy and light, but also still so flavourful. Not too sweet but I think one cake between two people is too little Maybe one for each person would be good
