Tanja Lagoon Camp reviews
36Absolute beautiful spot for glamping/camping. Sam and Lozz are amazing ppl. If Ur looking for peace and quiet with bushland sceneries and beautiful beaches close by this is the spot U need to be at
This is a beautiful, luxurious, secluded camp with wildlife, activities if you choose, and peace. We loved it.
The location and surrounding national park at Tanja was really beautiful which deserves a 5 star rating. The safari tent and bathroom/kitchenette setup was also beautifully done which deserves a 4 star rating. The 2 star rating is because; (1) there was no hot water for the first 24hours then when we did have hot water there was no water pressure; (2) the cleanliness was questionable; (3) owners were obviously busy with renovations and liked to blame other customers for showing us to our tent and for not having gas for hot water; (4) the walk to the beach was beautiful but took longer was stated in the book and I had six leaches on me when I got back; (4) it is so over priced.
Thank you for the wonderful weekend, we stayed in one of the Safari tents… was beautiful, so serene and being in front of the lagoon was incredible. We will definitely be back.
The right balance of sustainability and creature comforts in a tent, in beautiful surrounds - perfect. Even better would be destination chargers for electric vehicles. Elm Cottage in Tumut have a great set up with solar panels and Tesla chargers.
Absolutely amazing, from the moment we arrived to a field full of kangaroos, to waking up to the sound of nothing but wildlife, our stay was magical and I would recommend the Spoonbill tent in particular.
Amazing getaway! Highly recommend. The accommodation was incredible, couldn't have asked for anything more. The location is beautiful and peaceful, we didn't need to go anywhere else besides there. Will definitely stay again. Thanks again.
My partner and I went for a getaway in early December. We needed an escape and found everything we were looking for and more. Initially just booked 2 nights but within half an hour we knew we needed to extend our stay. Loz and Sam were more than accommodating. They gave us lots of tips and tricks to pass our time in the area, as well as providing us with the perfect amount of privacy. The pictures, whilst beautiful, don’t begin to explain just how amazing this place is. Can’t wait to get back!
P. S. Go canoeing - you won’t regret it!
We had a wonderful time staying at Tanja Lagoon Camp! The accommodation was so comfortable and the bathroom was so easy to access.
Absolutely beautiful in every way - the location, the tent set up, the local produce provided, the friendly wildlife. Highly recommend a peaceful getaway here!
Just want to say thank you for the best experience we had over a couple of nights this Queen's birthday long weekend. The weather was absolutely amazing after all the rain we had which just topped off our stay. From waking up to sunshine sitting on the deck overlooking the Lagoon (kangaroos jumping across the water) eating the best sourdough toast, butter and honey and not to forget the muesli and eggs (all so yummy) to sitting around the camp fire eating smores', toasting marsh mellows and starring up at the stars. We even used the campfire to cook our BBQ dinner (took the hotplate off the BBQ). The natural surroundings is so beautiful and peaceful you wouldn't think you're only a stones throw from Tathra. The tent (Spoonbill) itself is just the style of camping I love. The bed was so comfortable and the pellet heater definitely kept the outside chill at bay. Enjoyed the best hot bubble bath (wine in hand) in the bath for two (shared with my daughter LOL). The kitchen is fully equipped as well. I can't think of anything that would have made our stay any more rewarding than what we had. To be able to experience glamping in my own beautiful back yard is another plus for me. Thanks for the fantastic family memories.
Dianne & family.
I cannot recommend the Lagoon Camp highly enough. It was one of the best long weekend getaways I have ever had - a stunning spot, eco-friendly, nestled in nature, very private, delicious breakfast supplies. Kangaroos right out the front in the morning, nice and warm by the fire in the evening. We'll be back. Thanks Loz!
The facilities were unreal, and the owners were beyond lovely. This was a fantastic getaway location for bushwalking, close beach access and a beautiful lagoon with friendly wildlife in a picturesque setting.
I can honestly say in the ten years I've had in Australia the weekend I spent in Tanja Lagoon Camp tops them all. It had everything we wanted for a city getaway. Completely surrounded by nature, unbelievable peace and quiet, night campfires under the most amazing stars ive ever seen. Waking up to beautiful sunshine, fresh eggs supplied by our amazing host Roz followed by a quick Kayak trip to the most secluded beach on the Sapphire coast. We really were blown away and we go back in a heartbeat. Thanks folks and will most certainly be back to unplug again
Everything was absolutely out of this world! The location, the tents, the swags, the kangaroos and wallabies that come right up! The kayaking by the lake and the inlet beach on ur doorsteps were pretty special too! Kids said they had the best glamping experience here! Thank you for sharing this lovely part of the world with us for a couple of days! Highly recommended! Will stay again in a heart beat if we are down that way again! Thanks so much!
First time glamping and it was everything we were looking for! Connected with nature in a comfortable setting and no distractions from digital devices, if that's what you are looking for then TLC ticks all the boxes. It is also an eco-friendly place which is a bonus. The oil lit heater was ultra cool and it got us thru the cold nights:)
Our stay was non complicated, just turn up and relax in the wide open peaceful space. Loz the owner was always approachable and helpful. If your looking for a getaway place with no outside electronic interference this is the place to be.
The lagoon beach loop walk was interesting and kyaks/life vests are readily on hand in the tent to use in the lagoon The facilities/utensils in the safari tent are all their and nothing else was needed from home but food for our stay. We cooked each day from items brought from home.
The bushmens TV (the fireplace, took a beating with plenty of firewood on hand to cook chestnuts/marshmellows).
Bega was dissapointing, though all the coastal towns up and down the immediate area were really pretty, especially Tilba. We bought organic oysters from the wapengo lake area and shucked them at the camp site.
We'll certainly go back to Tanja anytime. They are expanding to include larger groups which should keep them busy. Their ethos on recycling and organics is to be commended.
Best weekend we have had together for a long time! Perfect location! The food provided was delicious! Will definitely be coming back
It was simply one of the nicest holidays I have spent in my life.
The location was amazing, hearing the sounds of the crashing waves from the beach at night, and the bell birds and kookaburras at sunrise and sunset simply made my heart happy.
Sam and Loz have created a beautiful and comfortable place to live whilst on holiday. Everything you could need is there, all tastefully selected and clean and tidy. It was one of the snuggest beds I have ever slept in.
On arrival we were greeted by no less than 25 kangaroos (which Sam later told me some were rescues). This leads me to my final point was that it was so wonderful to know that our holidays were making a light environmental footprint and was in some ways giving back to the environment through their recycling of grey water to their worm farm and more. It was a delight and I would go back in a second as there are still so many beach walks to explore.
Fantastic location. Great way to be in the wilderness while confortable. Great hosts. Will be back!
