Takeshi & Team Japanese Hair Salon

I have been a customer at this hair salon since some years ago. Staffs are friendly, kind and so polite!

They all nice, but if I had to make a choice, it would be “Chika”! She has plenty of experience in this industry, also she’s skilful and an entertaining person. I always enjoy talking with her. Moreover I’ve been felt very satisfied with her work:)

I went to so many Japanese hair salon in Sydney, Given those choices, I still like Takeshi & Team the best. I can confidently recommend this great shop!

Friendly staff and very skilled at what they do, i recomend this place alot.

First time visit for a men's haircut due to the high number of good reviews online and the need for a hairdresser that understood Asian hair. I was extremely disappointed, my hairdresser was polite and respectful but the haircut was honestly terrible, more so given the high price charged. The haircut was rushed without any real attention to detail. The level of quality was no different to those cheap quick Asian cuts, like a Japanese QB house. The finished cut actually looked worse than before I recieved the haircut. I walked out feeling ripped off. Perhaps Takeshi and team are more experienced with women's hair but from my experience, their quality for a mens haircut was garbage. Not recommended.

I made an enquiry through Instagram at 11: 58AM on 7 February 2022 for this afternoon at 3: 30PM. There was no reply even through they were showing as online. I decided to call and made a call at 12: 06PM and there was no answer. That was fine, I just waited for their reply on Instagram anyway. At 12: 15PM, a man called me saying there was a missed call and I said that I would like to make a booking. I booked in for 16 February 2022 at 3: 30PM.
Instagram messaged me back at 4: 01PM the next day on 8 February 2022 and I thought it was weird as the messaged seemed like it wasn't a continuation from me having made a booking so I said, 'sorry - already booked in with you' to which I got 'Ok! Thank you'.

Cut to today. I walk in and see a woman looking at the booking and looking at a hair stylist cutting someone's hair.he is waving profusely and shaking his head dramatically like 'no no no' as if he doesn't have enough time and to gesture that there is no booking.

I showed them the Instagram message and phone log from 7 February 2022 and they asked if I spoke to a man to which I said yes and I asked if they knew who it might be (so they could perhaps confirm) and they replied sarcastically 'we have a lot of staff'. I suggested that they perhaps should discipline their staff. Every time the woman who was helping me looked at the hair stylist he was waving his hand 'no no no' and shaking his head like a maniac.

They are lucky I walked there and didn't catch a train ticker or incur a parking cost.

Rudest service I have experienced. Get it together. You are the ones running a business, I will gladly take my business somewhere else. So maybe stop raising your voice when you made the mistake!

Absolutely brilliant experience. Professional, attentive, genuinely interested in providing you the hair style you are after. Chika just knows what her customer wants, needs, and remembers everything. This team will always make time for you and give you what you want. I always had my hair cut in a Japanese Salon in Brisbane. I was new to Sydney, so decided to give this one a go. I went there in the late Jan 2020, had a hair cut. It was done badly. It is fine that the hairdressor is not Japanese, as long as they do the job, but the one I had was really bad. The light settings was really dark. I almost wanted to ask "can you really see my hair "? BTW, I don't think there are many Japanese hairdressors there.

请大家不要在这家做头发！网上的图片根本就是欺骗客人！烫出的效果跟他们展示的图片差出十万八千里而且根本不会帮你再修复只会找借口！！Really unprofessional hair design, old machine, cheap chemicals, and overpriced! I asked for a digital perm but the barber asked me to do a haircut together, she just cut my hair no more than 10 cuts and charged me an extra $70 for this. The barber was friendly but not careful with the customer's hair, she gave my hair several strong tugs, and that was really hurt. Also, she did not put her attention to my perm service or hair design, she was kept pushing me to upgrade extra service about the perm chemicals and hair mask, I am so glad I refused. And the final perm result was not really good, my hair was been damaged much, and it was not curly at all. And the checkout was also unhappy, they ask me to pay cash otherwise I need to pay $45 more.

Taka did a wonderful job in my permanent hair straightening, he is very professional and knows what he does. My hair is super curly and he did a great job to straighten in a time efficient manner. You are one of the best hair dressers I have come across.

I got my Japanese hair straightening done at Takeshi just 10 days ago. I have long and thick hair.they did really good work on my hair.
The customer service is really good. Specially the person who did my straightening was very humble and does amazing job.
I will be visiting them again for future hair treatment and hair cut as well.

Had my hair digital perm & cut with Taka 2 weeks ago. He is one of the most patient hairdresser I have ever met. I showed him the hair sample pictures and asked for his opinions. I have to say the result was not that kind of style I like when it was initially finished, but after 2 weeks' wash, the hair turns natural waves, looks so good! You can tell Taka is a very experienced and skilled hairdresser.

Very friendly and good customer service. Good communication - went in to get a digital perm, didnt know they cant do it on bleached hair (my ends were still bleached from 3 years ago) so they kindly offered me their expert advice and we agreed to try trim most of the bleached ends off first, but the lady made sure I was okay with the length throughout the session. Understanding to my wants as well - decided to add protection when the hair was starting to get a bit too short to save some length:) Very happy with the results as well, and reasonable prices too! Even when they seemed busy they were professional and attentive to each customer.

My hair was pretty damaged, but after cutting and doing hair treatment became healthy. I'm very happy. Thank you.

I have been getting my regular haircuts from Nanami for the past 3 years and she has always delivered fantastic results for me whether it was short or long hair. My hair dye colour was always beautifully done too! I am so glad to have found a hairstylist who could cut my asian hair wonderfully! Strongly recommend this salon and Nanami!

Love coming back to this place for haircut! I always go to Chika for my haircut, she is very detailed with her work and takes time to cut my hair. She also provides advice on what hair style would suit me the best. I brought my mum to her for a haircut before, and my mum loved it too! Now both of us are her fans!
Haircut price is a little high but it is totally worth it! Highly recommended!

Best place for hair styles! Super satisfied with the results and the customer service was fantastic. They washed and blow dried my hair before and after the perm and cut and styled it afterwards to the hairstyle I wanted. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place that can do hairstyles.

It's my first time to cut my hair at Takeshi & Team. Koichi did a great job and I'm very happy with my new haircut! I told him that I don't know what will suit me, he asked me few questions to understand more about what I like, for example: What kind of look do you like? Young? Cute? Cool. Do you normally tie your hair? Ect. After that he will spent few minutes to think what look best on you. Will definitely go back again next time, thank you so much!:)

My hairdresser Allen has always been so good at what he does. Friendly staff and professional services always. Highly recommend.
Price is also very competitive compare to other hair salons around the area.

I have been going to Takeshi & Team since last year. My stylist Saki never disappoints me and always give me that fresh and cute Japanese hair style. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the authentic Japanese hair arrangement.

Maybe it was just the individual who gave my haircut, but it was really difficult communicating with her and getting across what I wanted. Didn't seem to understand what a fade is when I asked for one (saw plenty of decent fades from photos on their Facebook page) so I didn't end up with what I wanted. Really pleasant people and nice space though.
