Sydney Lyric Theatre reviews
54Beautiful venue, and easy to see the performances. Friendly staff. Expensive drinks but to be expected really. Not much in the way of food options, mostly chips chocolate and lollies
Fantastic theatre, great view from everywhere, good selection of drinks and snacks. Was so easy to get in and out and facilities were excellent!
Fantastic theatre as always with staff that are more than happy to go above and beyond. Wheelchair seating was in a great spot too and nice to not be in the very last row for once.
Saw the 2023 release of Wicked here. It was amazing. The sets lights and sounds brough the production to life, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was a great night. Well done team.
The staff were very attentive and ensured a smooth operation in terms of getting people seated.
The bar had special Wicked themed frozen cocktails, appropriate levels of stock for programmes and snacks, and was affordable and the bar service was quick.
Recommend to anyone that wants to go. Plenty of parking at the venue.
Need another set of toilets, not enough time for the women to go to the bathroom during the intermission
Saw Mommy here
overall can
However, the stereo does not perform very well when playing music with a strong drum beat in the loud opening/opening music
very noisy and harsh
Compared with fried ears
But the normal background music during the show and the actors talking and singing are not bad
On-site guide staff are of high quality
In addition to the aforementioned audio issues
Other experiences are pretty good
I went to the Sydney Lyric Theatre around 2 weeks ago to see Hamilton. Before we went into the theatre, We had a lovely Italian pasta and bread. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner or looking for a play.
Great venue in terms of seeing the stage, acoustics and access. Biggest downfall is the over zealous staff walking down aisles mid show asking someone to put their mask on properly, don’t expect my show to be interrupted by ushers with a sense of power.
Terrific location with great facilities except for the interminable wait for women's toilets at intermission! Also great to have lots of options for pre or post show dinner or dessert.
An outstanding entertainment venue with international entertainment shows, accessible parking, and pre-post dining options.
Great venue. The acoustics are amazing. Some seats definitely have better views than others so choose carefully but the whole place is well situated and carefully considered.
I LOVE being in the room where it happens.they keep it clean and just being able to see musicals is magical.
First, and not my last. Came here for Hamilton and was very impressed with the theatre.lighting and seating good
Well-organised and -communicated crowd management plus clever planning of the footprint made our first theatre visit in this age of COVID a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Of course, the fact we were there to see Hamilton might have had something to do with that enjoyment!
Hamilton the musical was great so good to finally get to see it on the 3rd attempt! Singing, dancing, music & amazingly costumes made the performance very worthwhile!
Quietly impressed at the size and aucistics of the Lyric Theatre having watched Hamilton here. Clean, comfortable seating and a tad more room so your knees aren't jamming up seats on front of you. Gives Capitol Theatre a decent challenge.
Wonderful theatre for your live entertainment experience. We saw Hamilton here and it was wonderful, the was big enough to tell the story and the sets were well built and sturdy for repeat performances. Bathrooms are outside in The Star so keep that in mind if you're busting in the middle of a show. There's snacks and icecreams being sold by humans walking around or at the concession stand. Merchandise stand also has merchandise as you would expect, but we didn't buy any. I did get popcorn which was alright, not as good as freshly made popcorn though.
The Sydney Lyric Theatre was the stage for my viewing of Hamilton by Lin Manuel Miranda.this may have affected my experience, because it was fantastic. The theatre is located at the Star and is easy to get to on the light rail.
Cheeses and light sandwich refreshments were pricey but tasty. The drink selection was somewhat limited but you are there for a show.
The staff were very attentive, and very easy to find meaning the arrival and entry process easy. If you are after a meal beforehand, there is a number of great options available at the Star. From fine dining down to casual fish and chips or Din Tai Fung.
A pre show casual drink can be had at the theatre once doors open, however, a cocktail at the Japanese restaurant Sokyo is just a short stroll away.
The Covid safety implementation was great, giving audience members a window of arrival, and exiting the theatre row by row. Masks were mandatory during my visit, this may have changed since. Thanks for an impeccable show and I look forward to visiting again.
The cast of Hamilton did not disappoint. Will be purchasing tickets for a second time for sure.
Large modern theatre, not quaint or curious or interesting - very much business. Well organised staff but very mechanical with lines and instructions for bathrooms/check in. Close (but comfortable) seating but not ideal for those with access requirements, particularly with popular shows.
