Sydney Local Roofers: Roof Repairs Sydney

I used this service in March 2021, to getter roof of our property serviced and maintained since we had just moved in. We were going to install solar panels and needed someone reputable to do this. The job was done on time, and we were sent a receipt showing 10 years warranty.
Since then, these are the issues we have had making us wish we never used this service:

1) Within 2 months of roof being repaired, we had some rains, not even that heavy, and found that there was water leaking in our living room roof. We called Brendan, and he said he will send someone after the rains stopped. Weeks passed, no contact was ever made and we also forgot about it.
2) Recent heavy Rains in August, caused a few leaks in our bathroom. We again called Brendan, and requested he send someone over to fix the issue. He promised to do so as soon as rains finished. Meanwhile, we also called our insurance company to lodge a claim as the leaking water has caused damage to our roof. The insurance company inspected the roof after rains stopped and found that the top ridge that was done by the roofer had completely watched off leading to leakage.
3) We followed up with Brendan and send him pictures as well as all the report from insurance. We also told him that no one had come to inspect/fix on the promised day. He asked us, ”I will get someone over to fix this, I just need to find out who did the roof” And another week passed with no contact.
4) Since then, we have been promised a fix, told he is extremely busy with insurance work, he is short staffed, had our calls not answered, put on hold and hung up. He has even said keep chasing me and I will eventually get it done as he is very busy, but has shown blatant disregard for our time. We have told him that we have little kids who use that bathroom and are worried about further damage to rains but it has fallen on deaf ears. Once again, today, on 28 September, I’ve been out on hold and hung up twice.

Update: We had one of their guys come and do some repairs, in December. It rains Ed recently, and once again, we have the Leaks. Tried calling the owner and his response was: “My guys deserve to have a holiday, and spend time with their family so call us in February and we will see what we can do”. I reminded him, I have been trying to get it sorted for 7 months now, and he hasn’t responded back.

This has left us no choice but to lodge a complaint with Fair Trading which I will be and understand it may get escalated to tribunal fairly quickly.
I wanted to warn others in Hills area and others to be aware of these issues before using their service.

It took me time to find them but now I did. Please, do not use this Contractor. He may come here and say I did not service ur house but he did and twice. The 2nd time because the work he did is under his fake warranty. However, the 2nd visit, he intentionally broke roof tiles to initiate more work. He is a dishonest Contractor. Do not use them. That's my experience.

Since posting this review Brendan contacted us on 25/08/2021. He came back and completed the roofing work on 26/08/2021, at the scheduled time. He accepted responsibility for the delay, explained how he had injured his back, and informed us that he had implemented new document/customer management systems which would improve his professionalism. Our details are now in the system and we are under 7-year warranty. He also issued us with an itemised invoice and a note that it had been fully paid. We are just relieved to have our roof fixed and hopefully our insurance claim can now be finalised.

In April we hired Brendan to complete maintenance work on our roof which was requested by our insurer. Specifically we asked Brendan to complete three (3) tasks. When he came, he suggested pressure cleaning our roof before doing the maintenance work. After completing the pressure clean, Brendan said everything looked fine and he would come back after the next heavy rain to make sure there were no further leakages.

There were indeed more leakages. Our insurer inspected the roof and said that the 3 tasks hadn’t been completed, so they couldn’t finalise our insurance claim. Over the next 3 months (from April to July) we contacted Brendan almost every week, but he either didn't show up or gave us a reason why he couldn’t come. We were sympathetic to his reasons but as the situation dragged on, it became extremely stressful for us. After another no-show on 17/07/2021, we gave up contacting Brendan and sought other avenues of redress.

On 13/08/2021 I submitted the previous version of this review. In response to my review Brendan has been in contact and completed the work (see above).

Brendan is a good man solved problem with us and we will call him next time again for any repairs. We recommend you to use this company for your house repairs, cheap price and good experience, he came within few minutes.

After the heavy rain in my area we had earlier this year I was left with serious damaged to my roof, I called Sydney Local Roofers and spoke with Brendan, explaining my situation he and Mitch quickly came out to my place to give me a free quote, I found them both very professional finding the damages and leaks promptly explaining exactly what needed to be done and they gave me more then a fair price in these tough times.
They proceeded with the job it was completed only 2 days after I confirmed the job.

I extremely happy with the results of my new repaired roof.

Took the money and didn't done the job properly after he had done the roof repair it was still leaking and I called him so many times he always say he is sick can't come or he is away can't come. The worst experience with these people. Personnel advice don't trust them with your house repairs. Take your money and never respond properly. BEWARE OF THIS GUYS.

My neighbour referred me to Sydney Local Roofers after we had both recieved hail damage. Brendan was professional, responsive, and went above and beyond to fix our multiple leaks. I can definitely recommend this company.

I recently had my roof repaired by Sydney Local Roofers due to a leak. They identified the issue as being the flushing, replaced it promptly, and requested me to send through payment, which I did immediately. They told me they would send me through a receipt and a 10-year warranty that day. Despite four subsequent requests from me, they failed to do so, which is a breach of their core business promise (as described on their website as well as their verbal and written undertaking to me), and likely illegal.
I will never use this company again, and will report them to the ACCC. Please do not use them for your roof repairs!
