This is one of the worst and most irresponsible tour operator I’ve ever seen. Although overweight, my weight is still way below their published maximum weight per person of 135 kg. However, after booking the tour, the operator told me that due to “safety reasons”, they would need to put me on another flight. I had already informed them weeks before that I cannot make it on 18th January, and leaving Sydney on 19th January, so my only available date was 17th of January but they insist that on 17th January there’s no flight and even quoted bad weather as a reason when it’s actually a sunny day on 17th January! Then I requested a cancellation from Viator. When they were informed by Viator to process the refund, they suddenly messaged me at 08: 52 AM asking whether I would be available for a flight at 11: 30 AM or 12 PM, but I had already made other arrangements by then. They can’t expect me to be ready 24-7 for their last-minute changes! The real reason why they couldn’t put me on a flight was simple: not economical to fly just one or two persons, and they want to have as many people on board a flight as possible. Sure, I can understand, no issue if they told me early. All I’m asking for is a full refund, yet they started preaching how they have done everything they could to put me on a flight. Have they not at least a sense of shame?

EDIT: My comments were by no means “outrageous and unjustified”. I speak based on facts.

The operator responded on Jan 20 claiming that “in the days prior to [my] requested date, [they] communicated freely with [me]. [I] confirmed that [I] could fly on an alternative date for which [they] had a suitable flight. [I] advised [them] that [I] had other plans. ”

I had informed the operator long ago, shortly after booking the tour, that I am only available to fly on January 17, and I already had plans on January 18, and January 19, so it’s not possible to fly on those two dates. The operator knew that very well however they still kept suggesting January 18. I was in a hurry on Jan 16, and was confused by the two dates January 17, and January 18 but I almost immediately reiterated to the operator again that I can’t make it on January 18. They have been making so many changes that it’s so difficult to keep up. And why would they suggest a date which I had already told them I can’t make it again and again?

If they were a responsible tour operator, they should have at least told me days before the tour that they were unable to find a suitable person to fly the same flight as me for the so-called safety reasons - and not to wait to the day itself! I would have made another booking with another operator. Full stop.

Overseas travelers like me make specific detailed plans ahead of time and the operator’s behavior is making travel planning very very difficult.

How many travellers, if any, are OK to be placed in such uncertainty only to be told on the day itself that he or she cannot board the flight?

You’re so-called three-hour, four-hour windows on the day of the book tour (18 Jan) is simply meaningless. How do you expect travelers to make such last-minute changes? Why offer the flight again at the last minute - after other arrangements were already made - for the sake of showing that you have ostensibly tried every option?

If you are not ready to deliver what you posted on third-party booking agents like Viator, then don’t list your product on those platforms.

Don’t just put “maximum weight”…define what is the threshold for the so-called “above average” weight, too, so that customers above that weight will not even waste time booking your product!

Such a lovely experience! All the staff were super friendly and communicative. A unique and amazing way to take in the city. Definitely worth a go while in Sydney! I can’t stress enough how accommodating they were. They arranged for a shuttle to take us back to the train station and when I accidentally left my sunglasses behind, they went out of their way to drop them back off at my hostel. Shout out to Lincoln for being such a lovely and helpful guy!

I flew at 10: 00 this morning.just awesome It's fantastic. I am returning home tomorrow, and I think HeliTours will remain as my biggest memory in Australia. It was so good that I even bought one as a souvenir of the Sydney Heli Pique shirt after landing. The pilot was max (?), and ah, it's really unfortunate that we couldn't take a picture together. He was kind and wonderful. Anyhow, I strongly recommend it.

I took a flight at 10: 00 this morning. It's just indescribable, fantastic. I'm heading back home tomorrow, and HeliTours will undoubtedly be the most vivid memory of this Australia trip. It was so enjoyable that I even bought a Sydney Heli T-shirt to commemorate the landing. The pilot's name was Max (?), and oh, I'm really disappointed we couldn't take a photo together. He was kind and impressive. Anyway, I highly recommend HeliTours.

Took a heli ride this morning and it was absolutely brilliant. The pilot Jake was amazing, he was very professional and he took us for an amazing ride in the sky. Our minivan driver was also very punctual and took my mum and I back to Shangrila hotel so that we could be on time for our flight back to Melbourne. All in all a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Heli-tours Sydney for an amazing tour.

The experience was fantastic. 1 point i felt was that the pilot might have been irritated with the question and overall was having a slightly bad day. However disregarded that the flight was smooth. The trip took us over Sydney and all of it's major beaches. Was fantastic look over the sydney skyline from above.

BUYER BEWARE: I would’ve loved to give a full five stars for the beautiful reception staff, initial booking staff and the shuttle driver but one person really ruined the experience for us. I looked deeper into the reviews and it seems to be a common trend so BUYER BEWARE. I purchased a private 30min flight up to Manly and the northern beaches as a birthday surprise for my husband and daughter. The flight was 20 mins long. No one said anything to them when they landed. I questioned why the flight was so short and why they didn’t make it to the northern beaches. When questioned a few of the staff went into a back room before giving answers and came out some time afterward. I was told it was my husbands fault because he was talking and engaging with the pilot and that the pilot wasn’t able to tell my husband that they weren’t given clearance to go up to the northern beaches. If that was the case then why didn’t they tell him once they landed rather than wait to be questioned about it? Our booking wasn’t last minute, why didn’t they know prior to departure? After they blamed us they did reimburse the extra 10 mins but were quite rude. If you do decide to book the 30 mins make sure you get your full flight.
