Surf Camp Australia reviews
31 Very good workout, healthy food and no phone reception. The perfect detox and health escapade.
Need to be a decent swimmer and have a reasonable level of fitness if doing the 5 day course or longer.
An amazing weekend from start to finish, we loved it. Great value for money, the staff and surf instructors couldn’t do enough for you and the atmosphere was amazing! Great for absolute beginners, no experience required. Special shout out to Laga and Josh as they were so good! The food was great from start to finish. A potential improvement would be Surf Camp selling soft drinks for a few dollars as lots of people would buy them (and more money for surf camp!) We would 100% recommend!
Had a great weekend of learning to surf, all of the instructors were great and very patient, special shoutout to Margo. Lovely vibe at the camp too x
Great people, great atmosphere, stunning beach and perfect waves. Couldn't ask for a better experience to get started with surfing!
Awesome experience! Great lessons and fantastic food xD! Would recommend to all students, travellers!
Amazing people, amazing place!
The surfer vibe is on top!
The surf coaches/staff are so nice! And sooo good at teaching! They made every lesion fun, and made you feel amazing when you achieved something And they cook incredible good food!
I will miss it lots highly recommend
Magical week of surfing in Gerroa, great place for beginners. Amazing food, friendly staff, impeccable surf gear (wetsuits & boards) and great efforts to take good pictures in difficult waves. Had an amazing time and would deff go back.
Highly recommend this surf camp. We were a group of beginner, intermediate and few advanced surfer and the classes were suitable for every level of experience. Really great coaches that know exactly how to help and improve your surfing. The camp location is close to the beach and it’s a great spirit.
Definitely coming back!
Thank you team for this great experience.
Had an amazing time at Surf Camp and stood up within the first lesson. The whole staff was really helpful and friendly. Especially, Margo is doing an amazing job as an instructor - explaining everything very well and helping everyone to stand up.
I am traveling Australia for 3 months and Surfcamp Australia is definitely one of the highlights! It was so much fun! The location, cabins and food were great! The staff was also so friendly and really made sure you had a good time. I’ve only had one surflesson before this but I really made progress during the week. So they’re great teachers to. 1000% would recommend!
One of the best weekends so far in Australia! So much fun and such good vibes!
Definitely would recommend!
I had an amazing time! The staff was really nice, specially Kim and Sofie:)
I would definitely come back!
It has been one of the best weeks of my life seriously, I knew I would like surf but they have done that I love it.
All the instructors are so amazing and professional since Doug, Zac, Aaron, Tom, Margo, praise, Chico until the best one, Dani.
They do this camp so special.
(I have named all of them so a 6 pack’s for each of them hahahahha)
100% recommended

Amazing staff and trainers, amazing food, amazing surfing and amazing accommodation. If you want to learn how to surf or just improve your skill, this is the place to go!
Yeeeewwwww
Great weekend all round! Great surf, great instructors, great crew. Learnt heaps and had loads of fun. Vegan options on point? Will def be coming back for round 2.
Amazing I had such a fun time at Surf Camp. Great surfing instructors especially Zack and Margo. All the other staff were really great too making us feel really welcome and making sure we had the best time possible. I'll definitely be back
This was one of the best experiences of my life. Everything is great but the real treasures there are the surf instructors and the surfing itself. Day 1 was a steep learning curve, but by the second day Tom, our awesome instructor, had me and my partner surfing proper big waves further out. I was super nervous but he was bolstering, professional, and knew how to manage our capabilities and safety. It put us on such a high, never thought we would progress that far! Absolutely fantastic all around, thank you. Also spot on communication beforehand with discussing dates and answering questions, when I used the chat function on their site they responded within 30 seconds every time. Overall can’t recommend this camp enough.
What an amazing experience we had here! Highly recommemend as you are not getting away from the city, you are getting FULL PACKAGE of fun! Great vibe, lots of laughs, learning new things and even maybe conquering your fears of water! Everything is organised and delivered with 110% positivity and easiness. Great Coaches too - Doug, Zac, Tom, Eamon - you are the Gems for this experence.
Just did a weekend camp with them. Loved it. Great professional instruction and relaxed beach vibes at the same time.
Just spent an amazing week with my family down at Surf Camp in Gerroa. It was an easy two hours drive from Sydney and we had a sneaky stop off in Kiama to see the blow hole.
Surf Camp is a super cool little setup which is located inside the Discovery Holiday Park. The camp itself is purpose built and is just how I would imagine a surf camp if I was in Bali or Fiji. These guys really nailed the design and combined with a whole bunch of awesome local surfers (staff) they have an authentic experience happening.
My whole family joined the meet and greet and did the initial surf briefings before heading down to the surf with the whole group for the surfing lessons. We had a private instructor for the first three days which was great as my boys are 7 and 9 and were not very confident in the surf. My youngest son 4 (who can't swim) also had a great time and with his wet-suite and buoyancy vest was able to catch a few waves in the shallows with the surf instructor as well. I didn't catch many waves myself but was in the surf daily helping with the boys and making sure my wife had time to catch waves as well.
One of the best things about Surf Camp (including all of the above) is the food. It's fully catered, three times a day, different things every day for lunch and dinner and lots and lots of food. To not have to worry about food for the family for a whole week is quite surreal!
On the Wednesday night we had a big bonfire by the river (in Discovery Parks fire pit) which was awesome. The whole group (and all the staff and surf instructors) were chatting, singing and having a few bevvies. My kids toasted marshmallows for the whole crew which was the highlight of the night for them.
Anyway the whole experience was amazing and I can't give enough kudos to Surf Camp and it's amazing staff: Eamon, Doug, Ray, Zac, Tom, Daniel, Silvia & Elena who made our stay a great one!
