Currently staying in the hospital it's by far the best place I have stayed better than alot of motels even.
The nurses and service provided are 10/10 very clean rooms spacious courtyard to relax in the sun and a great sized gym to workout in. All in all I can not recommend this place enough. Doctors are also very good, very happy with my stay.

South Coast Private Hospital were extremely professional & skilled with their committed approach to my recovery, I strongly felt this at all times during my two admissions.

This past admission doing the Phase 2 PTSD treatment program for 28 days was exceptional from my initial consultation to discharge day was nothing short of invaluable.

A huge thank you to my amazing psychiatrist & psychologists for listening to me & ensuring I felt safe at all times. To the nurses, cleaners, kitchen staff, Maintenance Manager, clerical staff who were all kind and understanding, they often went beyond their patients duty of care, I could not have had better life changing experience.

While I know that I will never be cured with my PTSD condition, I know that with my Psychiatrist Dr Kim & my Psychologist Jess‘s dedication I now have the tools to move forward in my life with a positive outlook & future Care Plan in places.

Thank you to all the Team at South Coast Private

During my time at Scp I would just like to say that I was treated with the highest level of respect and dignity. I have had quite a number of break downs in which I have had the experience of staff members and nurses going way and beyond their call of duty. Having a visual impairment I can’t read all the. Names of the nurses who have really helped, some come to mind and that would be Leigh, Ben the one with the hair and the maintenance man Mark. I can’t thank SCP enough for everything you all have done for me, the psychologist, the psychiatrist and everyone involved cheers Kymmi haak, level two

Nurses dictate when you can and can’t have your medication

Maybe they should consult their own doctors before the mess with peoples heads

My Red Painted Toe Nail will never step foot into that Political Conceated Uncaring Hospital ever again.

Want to get better? I'd go somewhere else. 10/10 would not recommend this "friendly" hospital.

Edit;
Response from SCP "99%? "
Please provide a link to support this claim.
I'd rate a 10/10 for the status of cleanliness and presentation.
But a 1/10 for 99% of your staff.

To the other reviewer saying not to judge it by your first admission;
(For respect of privacy names will not be mentioned).
Staff members "bitching" about mentally ill patients and "nurses" deciding whether or not to hand out medication, when stated by a higher level medical officer, that they should be having said medications, is lawfully wrong.
I am working closely with a lawyer into these matters and evidence of my claims.

As for finding a better hospital, easy. South West Private.
Looks rough and lower budget than SCP, yet 100% better care.

So SCP, hopefully we'll see the day that your award for "out standing" support to the emergency services is handed over.
I look forward to your reply.

This hospital good unless you relapse a couple of times. My son is a Veteran with lots of problems and he screaming out for help yet they turn him down. This is a mental health hospital this is what a lot of patient do. I thought they were there to help. (Nursing staff excellent) Carmen Poidevin

I have read the reviews. If you think you can find a better mental health hospital well go to it. I have been going to this one for years. It is outstanding. And I have been to many in Sydney. Unless I can get into SCP I will wait till they have a room. The whole hospital is outstanding and of course there will be some problems EVERY provider has problems. And understand this we the people writing the reviews are mentally ill and can at times be confused. Do NOT judge this hospital on your first admission.

Day programs are hit or miss depending on who's running them. They have you do a weekly DAS questionnaire & I was always at the upper level yet these were never discussed by the psychiatrists treating you so if you are "at the end of your rope", noone would take notice.sth coast private is more interested in making money by placing you into multiple day programs than by actually taking a holistic approach to patient care.it's a MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY yet your concerns and your pleading for help falls on deaf ears.management is probably pushing the psychiatrists and psychologists to put profits above patient outcomes so I kinda feel a little sorry for the staff - but i shouldn't because their duty of care is towards the patient -NOT the profit margin. I have been chasing up an anti depressant script that my "psychiatrist" insisted i try without ANY ongoing monitoring of tolerance - and i am STILL waiting for a script. So, in the interim, I have run out and gone through shocking withdrawals. I will be going to the HCCC as i am disgusted at the lack of follow up, let alone an integrative approach to patient care. Like someone else said previously, look elsewhere for your mental health care needs. South coast private is the poster - child for everything that is wrong in mental health care in this country. You all sold out and should be ashamed & stripped of your "professional" memberships.

With a manual on stress &a anxiety being handed to you to read. One hour of concealing 4 days out of 7 then do as you please. What a waste of time. Good if you want to go to view the sights.

My experience was shocking zero.communication between Dr's orders and nurses have a huge power trip. I was allocated room 221. With a service dog the stairs were steep. Too bad if you have a disability. Was told the hospital was full and if unsatisfied to go. It also had a terrible dry cleaning smell so strong it affected my asthma. The view a busy loud rd. For $770 a night billed to insurance there is no after dinner snacks provided! Further, I wasn't even allowed to take my service dog to pee outside! Despite a comprehensive four page letter from g.p and neuropsychologist they apparently had no idea why I was there despite it being sent days prior to admission. Crap food, crap service! Ill be sending a complaint to my insurer to cancel the contract and recommended patients DO NOT choose this facility. Go somewhere else.
