Silver City Mint & Art Centre reviews
32I was in awe when I saw the paintings and artwork. I could easily grab a chair, sit down and be mesmerised by all the australiana
I appreciate what they have been able to make of this place. A really well put together artificial tourist attraction. You pay to see the painting and it is a bit hokey but interesting enough. You spend a lot of time in different versions of a gift shop but again interesting enough and they have added a 'chocolate shop' and have a free dvd running to tell you more about Broken Hill. I think they have done a good job of what I would expect a visitor center to do.
It's a bit over-rated. The big picture is ho hum.sorry to the artist but it lacks depth & interest. It's a large scale 180 degree painting but it's like a collage of postcards.
What can one say.absolutely brilliant a must go place especially if you're into handmade jewelry and real art. But we are from the UK so could only buy small items. I suppose one could have things posted just didn't ask
Well worth the money, the big picture is totally amazing!
I've seen several comments About staff being rude, thank goodness I never got to experience that, as I can't walk I have a scooter and both women were amazingly helpful and understanding.
Enjoyed seeing the big picture there. Lots of jewelry and souvenirs. Staff was very friendly and helped me find a nice silver chain. Some cute objects.
An exceptional display and range of souvenirs, paintings, etc. Anyone looking for a gift, should find something of interest here.
Amazing place, loved the big picture. Staff were very accomodating, as I'm in a wheel chair they made areas open so I could go in.
We sell rare stones.
It is ideal for gifts.
If you have a chance to visit Broken Hill, we recommend that you go to this museum. The museum exhibits include old-time ruins in the area and gems from the mine. We sell rare stones here. I think that it may be a souvenir.
The woman at the front counter was very rude. We just wanted to buy some chocolates. She shouted at us that we had to pay an entrance fee if we wanted to buy chocolates. We decided to give the chocolates a miss. I quietly told the woman that we had found everyone at Broken Hill very friendly and polite.until now, to which she shouted, “Don’t come back. ”
We left there feeling very upset.
Are the owners reading these reviews? Many people have posted similar comments about the rudeness of the staff at Silver City Mint.
Clearly they need to be retrained or replaced.
Well worth the effort to visit. I could have spent a fortune on the artwork there, however very rewarding and yes I did spend some money. Lol PS I would have added photos but your not allowed to take photos inside️
