Sew Make Create reviews
40I loved my crochet lesson at Sew, Make, Create. Great staff (Melissa is so accommodating, friendly and professional), an amazing creative space, an experienced and patient teacher, and I actually made a granny square! I’m now on my way to making a blanket. A wonderful way to spend a weekend afternoon. Thank you SMC.
Hi
Just completed the Sew a Skirt, two day workshop with Catherine at Sew Make Create. Her helpful and caring attitude made it easy and fun to sew my skirt. Melissa's little Peppa the pooch was very supportive too!
Great class and nice and welcoming people. Re-learnt forgotten basic skills with beginners sewing, great equipment and very good tips from instructor/s. A great surprise was the resident dog Pepper too. Would recommend.
Great introduction to sewing with a friendly, engaging and responsive team. Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely day of basket making. Everyone left with a finished product and a few techniques to make out own baskets at home.
Well set out & equipped workroom, small class size, excellent teacher - a great learn to sew experience!
Wanted to learn how to use sewing machine with an aspiration to be a dressmaker. Even though I was an absolute beginner they were very understanding and patience with each steps. Of course it was a very enjoyable class. Today I have redesigned and upformed a skirt that I have bought from an op-shop! So anyone who would like to learn to use the machine or want to try a new thing and to get a new skill, please visit!
I went to the introductory sewing class and made a small pillow. The class was excellent! Just four people, so we got lots of attention from the teacher. The explanations and exercises were really helpful. And we all walked out with a pillow to proudly display at home:)
I’ve been here twice - the first time I was wonderstruck by the alcove that houses the studio. The studio offered free 1 hr slots as part of a community building/ place making event called 100 in 1 day and I booked in an hour with a friend. 2 hrs later I’d completed 2 pouches to carry my cutlery so I wouldn’t have to use plastic everywhere. Melissa helped me set up the sewing machine, and I used the tools of the studio. There is always something else of interest happening alongside, a natural skin care products workshops, little visitors, dog visitors. I loved quietly working alongside others in a space that carefully supports those who’ve taken a few precious hours to mindfully creating something. Congratulations Melissa on providing a much needed space and community service!
Amazing experience. Well equiped place and materials machines they have. Staff are very friendly and approachable. My very deep thanks.
Did the 'Learn to Cross Stitch' class and LOVED it. What a calm, relaxing environment to try something new. The teacher was great - explained things clearly and carefully, and now I'm hooked.
Signed up for the beginners sewing class with Tanja and loved it! First class involved learning all of the basics including how to troubleshoot my machine which has been so useful. The second class we made a cushion with button holes.so fun! Tanja was a great teacher, she shared all of her knowledge and was really patient and supportive. Melissa runs a tight ship, 10/10 would recommend.
Loved our pillow case class. The small amount of ppl in the group meant that you could as questions and stuff during the session without feeling intimidated. Lovely, approachable ladies too! This made learning very enjoyable and has really sparked an interest in sewing more things! Loved it and very much recommend this place!
I went to a polymer clay jewellery workshop at Sew Make Create. It was by far the most relaxed, enjoyable and productive jewellery workshop I’ve ever been to. A small group of lovely people, a great teacher (Nadine Sharpe) and lots of opportunity to play and create. I highly recommend it.
WOW WOW WOW! How did I not discover Sew Make Create before? What a wonderful venue + pepper the dog and Melissa.
The class with Nadine on Polymer Clay beginners was amazing, I learnt so much about this medium and how to create some amazing pieces. I also met some other like minded people and we all giggled our way through the learning process.
I will be back for the intermediate class with Nadine + any other of the cool classes that are run here.
Get on it guys! You wont regret it!
Small size class, attentive teacher. My 16 year daughter enjoyed the sewing classes for beginners during the school holiday. Thanks
What a wonderful place to learn something new! The intimate setting makes for a personal learning experience, something you rarely get in other creative courses. Friendly staff, great location. Look forward to attending another course soon.
Sew Make Create is a wonderful space - always full of people busy with their creative outlet. This was my 3rd class - the Resin Jewellery workshop with Nadine. The class sizes are small enough that you get lots of attention and help, and we all left with 2 bracelets and 2 rings. Fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon with a friend. Melissa does a fantastic job of organising the workshops and keeping this vibrant space busy. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Well organised classes in a lovely space - a great way to learn new skills and find a creative outlet! I did the polymer clay jewellery course with Nadine and went home with new necklaces and plenty of material to play more. Also enjoyed the yummy snacks in the class:)
I did the stretchy fabrics workshop with sew make create and it was fantastic. Highly recommend. The people were super friendly and knowledgeable, the classes were small and there was enough time to finish my garment. They also showed us all how to adapt stretchy clothes and patterns for our body shapes which has been very, very useful.
