Sew Make Create

Our workshop and shop is located at Suite 4 / 38 City Rd, Chippendale. Next to the Toby's Estate Cafe & Roastery, and across the road from Victoria Park. We are open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 2pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm.

Had the best time at the Intro to sewing class. Tanya is an amazing teacher, and I made cushion covers! They looks so professional.

I’ve done the beginner’s introduction to sewing workshop and the clothes making workshop at Sew Make Create. I learnt so much from both and I had a lot of fun as the instructors and other attendees are all really lovely people. It’s also great that you get to leave each workshop with something you’ve made yourself!

Sew make create is a wonderful place I go to not just learn but enjoy making and creating whether it’s sewing lessons or workshops I always walk away feeling good

I did a beginners hand embroidery class with Bronnie. It was so much fun and Bronnie explained everything so well. I would definitely recommend.

I did the beginners course for sewing. The admin, communication, content, space and teacher were all great. I am already planing my next course to do there!

The beginners' crochet course with Elizabeth was great.not too many in the course, very patient instructor, good demonstrations and precise instructions. A very enjoyable afternoon.

The beginner's sewing course with Tanja was great. She was patient and explained all the steps clearly. The studio was cozy and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this course to anyone who is a complete beginner to sewing.

A very enjoyable course. I am a complete beginner to sewing by the end of the classes I couldn’t wait to try my next project. I would highly recommend this class. The pace of learning is geared to the participants. So if you are new to sewing like I was this is a great place to start.

My 10 year old daughter and her best friend attended the 2 days Introduction to Sewing workshop during the school holidays and had a great time! She made a top and dress, scrunchies, pouch bag and a tote bag all in 2 days. The teachers are amazing. They have been very accommodating to the needs of different student whom has different experience level. With a small class (max 5), my daughter has really learnt a lot under the patient and caring teachers in a very creative and stimulating space. We will definitely be booking for more sessions in near future. Highly recommended.

I’ve attended a couple of workshops with Sew Make Create and they have all been so much fun. I’ve always been so happy with my creations and learnt something new. My only point is be careful where you park as I got a parking fine! Otherwise such a beautiful space to create in.

After doing a resin jewellery course with Nadine, I have taken up resin as a craft. I wanted to learn more about mold making to further my resin craft and I wasn't disappointed. The class was fun and informative. Thank you for the follow-up notes. Thank you for letting me geek out and make a star wars mold. I love it and I love the results.

Everything about this place from the teacher Michelle, quality of the lesson and tools, organisation, communication, the studio (very clean, bright, AC and cute dog!) and location is a five star for me. Extra bonus points because the size of the class was only 2 people for our lesson which was perfect for a beginners class so all our newbie questions got answered! Melissa was helpful and responsive from day one re getting there, things to prep for and just being exactly the kind of friendly small business owner that you know has the passion for it. Highly recommend for any sewing class!

I did the beginner sewing workshop with my teenager daughter and we both had a ball! The key features of how to use your sewing machine were explained thoroughly whilst creating a beautiful cushion to take home. The workshop space is very comfortable and relaxed, with a teacher who is kind, patient and very knowledgeable. A wonderful experience, that has instilled an enthusiasm for the next challenge offered at Sew Make Create.

I took the beginners class and it was great. The teacher is friendly, super helpful and most of all very patient! I would definitively recommend the place, they take the time to guide your and help you, which is perfect when you're a beginner!

My wife bought me a beginners crochet session at the start of the year after I had spent months trying in vain to teach myself, finally giving up because I thought it was impossible to learn. Within the first 10 minutes of the class, my instructor was able to easily correct my technique and I was making granny squares in no time!

The instructor was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer any and all questions, no matter how silly they may have seemed. This one course gave me the skills to push forward on my own, and the confidence to really challenge myself over the last few months. I'm now making toys, blankets and trying out all sorts of techniques that would have felt way out of my league in the past. Halfway through the Scheepjes crochet-along and having a ball!

The whole vibe of Sew Make Create is incredibly welcoming and calm. I really look forward to many more visits in the future & can't recommend them enough.
