A very relaxing retreat venue in the Byron Bay Hinterland. Peaceful and tranquil.
Lisa & Mike were most obliging and helpful.

Wow, what an amazing space! If you are looking to get away from it all to relax and reconnect this is the space! It was like being in Thailand, everything was 5 star luxury and the service was impressive. The only downside was we didn’t stay long enough, we will be back to stay! Thanks Mike and Lisa for your hospitality and sharing one the best spaces we have been too.

We enjoyed an amazing stay at Sanctuary in the Pocket for our anniversary. The Bliss Cottage is beautifully decorated and feels like a hidden paradise of your very own. The hosts Mike and Lisa went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and took the time to explain some of the features of the property and surrounding grounds. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you could need for a comfortable holiday. We felt very welcome and look forward to returning again for another stay.

The property, the accommodation, and the owners where next to none. Most beautiful place that is a must see for ANY one who loves to relax in the most beautiful surroundings you can imagine. Mike and Lisa where the most helpful and genuinely caring people you could ever meet, nothing was too hard, they went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The cottage is spacious and very well appointed, comfortable and good quality bed. We will see Lisa and Mike again with pleasure!

My husband and I stayed in the guest cottage last week and were blown away by the gorgeousness of the accommodation and surrounds. Sanctuary in the Pocket is just lovely, with lots of trees, birds, quiet spaces, a bubbling brook - plenty of places to relax and enjoy nature. The hosts, Lisa and Mike, are super friendly, what I would call 'super hosts'. They ensured we had everything we needed for our luxury escape, and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend Sanctuary in the Pocket.

We stayed in the Retreat. It was exactly what we needed. All you heard was nature all around. We wanted somewhere to get away from everything and we got exactly that. It is much cooler in the Pocket so swimming was not an option for me but that did not stop my husband. I loved the garden around the property, extremely beautiful. If you want somewhere quiet and peaceful and surrounded by nature, this is the spot!

Staying at the Sanctuary is like being in a dream, Susie and Jonathon have created a magical place and everything was perfect. My family and I will definitely be back, it has a fantastic location and the accommodation is 5 stars and Susie and Jonathon are great hosts.

The resort was fabulous. It was a hidden gem in Byron Bay. So cosy and relaxing and the surrounding areas are picturesque. Accomodation was perfect for what we wanted. The resort owners were very welcoming, caring And humble - made us feel safe and at home. Accommodated when needed, and Helpful without being intrusive. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the future! Will definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

Given the current state of travel in the world, and Australia, we were so fortunate to have found Sanctuary in The Pocket. We only had time for a weekend getaway, and our stay exceeded expectations. It felt like I was back home in Hawai'i with all of the lush gardens and privacy. I cannot recommend Bliss Cottage enough. The private hot tub and gardens were worth the visit alone.we didn't leave the property at all during our stay. As recommended by Susie (host/owner) we made a detour to the shops in Ocean Shores prior to arrival and bough everything we needed. I look forward to our return and for a longer stay. Bliss Cottage felt like the sort of place where you got the benefits of a week on holiday in only two days. Thank for for hosting us.we will be back in another season to use the private plunge pool.

Had the most amazing weekend in Bliss Cottage. The place was beautiful and clean, felt extremely luxurious and accommodating and didn’t want to leave the cottage the whole time we were there!
