Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre reviews
44A great place to have a swim, maybe some time in the sauna, spa and steam room. Great for kids and parents. Price of entry is reasonable!
I would NOT recommend booking courts here. The parking outside is fine. The staff were late to set up our nets on the court which cut into our booking time, and set them to the wrong height and when we asked to have them put to the right height they just said "this is the right height, looks right to me" when it wasn't at all then refused to change it and left. There was a roof rain leaking onto the court and one of our guys slipped on it and got hurt. And I guess this was good for us but staff never came at the end of our booking session so we just stayed and kept playing for another 90 minutes, and still nobody came, so we just left. The front desk didn't realise there were still people there. It seems super disorganised and when we told staff about the roof leak they didn't seem to care at all.
We love outing to this place. It’s great fun for our 2 year old, safe, clean and good value. Especially worthwhile on a weekend when the slide and wave pool are open.
Me and some members of my family went to have some fun splashing around in the swim pools. We had been before, but not for years. When we got their everything seemed well priced and all, until we got into the wave pool. Someone had done a poo in the pool. We got out immediately and informed the lifeguard, who didn't care at all. He said he had seen it, and was going to call someone to scoop it out later. He didn't even call anyone out of the pool, and, we did some research and digging and we found out that this was the normal protocol. They do not even clean the pool. The service was poor and disappointing. I highly recommend you do not come here, unless you like dirty pools and exhausting service. Worst place ever. The only good part was, we got a refund.
A good local pool with a wave machine and a slide. They often have inflatables during the school holidays as well. The extras start up at about 10am. There is also a lap swimming pool that is used for water polo too and a program pool for learn to swim. Beware the locks on the family change rooms as they often malfunction.
We've been visiting the centre for almost 2 years now and never had a problem. However since 3 months ago I used the Active Kids voucher to pay for my daughter's swimming class, our swimming card stopped working. This did not bother me too much. But last two times I tapped the card to enter and it did not work, the young men at the counter was so rude, made me feels like I'm an idiot. He did not want to help me at all but only wanted to prove that I didn't tap it correctly. Terrible service!
Great pools, loads of toodlers in baby pools though would have been great to have an area for the crawlers
This is the worst pool ever! Do not go here! I came with my boyfriend the other day and we found a long hair in our chips the women was very quick to pull it out of my boyfriends hand and the people at the cafe do not want to be there and they are very disorganised! You won’t see me here again!
A good place for swim from kids to adults but casual admission per person is almost $5.00 more than other swimming pools entry fee.
Pool could do with some maintenance and people do not respect the slow, medium, fast lanes, so you could have someone who can barely swim getting in your way in the fast lane.
- most of the activities were closed for public
-dirty cabins
+ at least the price was low ($13 for two adults + two small kids)
Lots to do. Lazy river, wave pool and water slide are fun. On weekdays not very busy but crowded on weekends.
Need more air con. In summer it's really hot. I am talking about level 2 (kick start soccer club) but the parking area is good & enough signals to go there.staff are also friendly & helpful. I didn't use the pool area but looks very nice & suitable for different age groups.
Rlly fun place to go, 50m lanes for swimming and a water slide for entertainment. Also a stationary surfing stand that is there.
I've attended this venue for a couple of Masters Swimming carnivals in recent times and at school carnivals many years ago. I cannot comment on the swim school or lap lane availability. My experiences here have been positive. There are a range of different pools and the main pool is perfect for racing. It is a bright, welcoming and spacious venue. It's great the 50m pool can be divided into 2x25m pools.
It's a very good place for swimming. There are plenty of fun things to do for kids. I participated in grappling industries BJJ competition here. The entrance is from the side and hard to find. If it was on the main road that will be much easier.
Lot's of lanes for lap swimming, spa and sauna was good but the temperature could've been higher. Steam room was out of order unfortunately.
Large aquatic facility when good amenities. Waterslide and wave pool located here also! Large activity area which can be used for other events like BJJ competitions. Limited parking for the centre and often there are no parks meaning you will park in the surrounding streets.
The Ryde Aquatic Centre is great for kids. WAVE POOL! Lazy river.and a large salt water pool that is hot, hot like a hot tub but very large. Cafe is ok as Aquatic centres go. We saw some kids birthday parties which look great!
Good facility, however formal classes take over most of kids areas. The website never shows this before you turn up when checked on. Some times the senior staff are not as personal able as they could be. Plus they don’t allow you to dive in even thought there are racing blocks and you are trying to help someone improve their racing starts. (Not learning to dive) However this seems to be the same with all council pools. Clearly insurers have stepped in. Yet jumping and bombing is ok.
