Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre reviews
44Had my daughter's 8th birthday party here today and it was just perfect. Three lovely, friendly party hosts for 10 kids. No need to bring decorations, the party table was set up with table cloth, balloons and lollybags for each child. Arranged so that adults could mingle and eat while the children were entertained and more than adequately supervised. Was wonderful to see our l ittle guests having a blast. My daughter has already stated she will have her next party here! Highly recommend.
Actual rating: 50%. It's been years since I came here when the wave pool was in operation. First visited in the late 2000s (can't remember exactly) and didn't care about the alarm, as I didn't know what it meant. Came back in 2015 and realised the alarm was a series of beeps which I always thought was a lockdown alarm (which it isn't) but then when I saw the two blue lights flash and heard the alarm again, when the second blue light stopped flashing the waves came. Now I always describe the alarm as a “wave alarm”.
Came back again twice in Term II 2021 with StepUp Disability Services (two Tuesday afternoons, not consecutive) and was concerned about the alarm, which didn't go off as swim lessons were in place. Last time I visited was on 24 October 2023 with same crew, warned the staff about the alarm but again, swim lessons were in place so it didn't go off.
So take my advice when you come here and the wave pool is in operation: DON'T BE ALARMED WHEN YOU SEE TWO BLUE LIGHTS FLASH AND HEAR A SERIES OF CONTINUAL BEEPS FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE - as the sign above the second light suggests, it only indicates commencement of wave operation.
Busy in the school holidays but lots to keep kids entertained with slide, wave pool, whirlpool and river.
Very crowded and very small. The water pressure wasn’t enough in the last circle and majority of the pool is too shallow. Someone also pooped in the pool and we had to stay outside for 30 minutes even though we just got there for 5 minutes.
I love amelia she is super sweet and deserves a pay rise she is very positive with the people in the pool and she deserves a pay rise for that also amelia for president 2023
Visited the pools during the school holidays and it was surprisingly good! Although there was a lot of parking spaces it was all full, but we parked on the streets and walked in, which was okay. The kids enjoyed the pool with activities, especially the challenging balloon run (a long pencil like balloon that was like the ninja challenges), a couple of laughs as they bounced off it.
The wave pool was interesting but was very crowded, but there is a section along the edges that allowed flowing traffic to move consistently. So that was good, very kids friendly.
AMELIA FOR PRESIDENT 2024
amelia is one of the most beautiful and helpful lifeguard I have ever met. She was so sweet and funny. I love her so much she made my experience in the pool so fun. She deserves a pay rise! Amelia will be the reason i come back again.love this place.
The front office staff are absolutely amazing, always kind, friendly, helpful many many thanks for your genuinely positive customer service.
Lots of parking and a variety of pools for all different ages. They charge for spectators even if you're not swimming
None of the hand dryer is working, no hair dryer. I’m paying the council fee for the worst service
Good swim school, wave pool, water polo and kids play. Limited parking, no entry from Victoria road.
Amazing aquatic centre especially for kids. The friendly trainers are amongst the best in Sydney. The only negative about the place is the parking availability during peak times. Otherwise a great place and a must for introducing little ones to swimming.
It’s 1 of the best pool I have ever seen in Nsw m.stuff, customer service, spa and everything fine in there
Amazing swim centre loved equally by kids and adults. My kid loves the big yellow water slide, wave pool and whirlpool set up. Separate pool for lap swimmers. Water Polo centre, cafe all under the same roof.
This is a great place to swim for the family, very clean and hygenic. Kids love it to, there's heaps for them to do. We come here quite often, always a nice experience.
Wave pool, inflatable obstacle course, kiddies pool, big kids slide and little kids slide. Has it all and all included in the entry price. Parking spots genererally are available.
My child and his friends (who are all 15) went to this pool to swim. Rude old lady turned them down as they had to be 16 to enter without parental supervision. Could not find on the website where it states the age requirements. They tell me the lady gave so much attitude and was unnecessarily mean. Poor kids had to catch 3 buses home as I was at work and unable to pick them up. They were looking forward to riding the slide.
OMG, I grew up in the sixties with the most amazing outdoor pool and diving pool at Ryde, with a great three level diving platform. You could run in the fresh air and enjoy the out doors. Swimming and diving was a fun time back then. The band aid brigade have built this enclosed pool that holds no interest to me at all. BORING, not stimulating at all for the young. I think its a sad day that we are forced to wrap up in cotton wool. This pool is BORING and MONOTONOUS.
Part of Sydney 2000 Olympic complex. Great place for kids to have a lot of fun. There is also a huge water ride for everyone to enjoy.small jacuzzi spots.
Warm water, wave pool after 12pm, lap pool not crowded, plenty different depth water area to accommodate young kids, slide and spa, cafe inside. Only to avoid swimming class time as car park will be full.
